Towards Vision for QC: The EV2 Implementation Story of CCBC

Claiming Quezon City for Christ.
It is the exact phrase that would summarize what Capitol City Baptist Church (CCBC) envisioned to happen in Quezon City through EE. The CCBC saw Everyday Evangelism (EV2) as an easy yet exible tool in implementing their evangelism training, which they are hopeful to eventually lead them in realizing their dream. For the past years, CCBC observed that only few of those who have taken Evangelism Explosion or EV2 Clinics are able to implement the ministry when they go back to their churches. To ensure they are assisted, four churches were adopted by CCBC to be mobilized in evangelism and equipping ministry. These churches include Bliss Christian Fellowship (Balintawak, Quezon City),..

Share how Jesus birth provides gifts for us. 6. Research The Story of the Candy Cane on line and share it as a way to give your own personal testimony of Gods gift of Grace. 7. Research the history behind the real Saint Nicholas, he was a believer you know. Check it out at www.christianitytoday.com/ch/news/ 2004/nick.html
from page 1... 6. Empowering leadership Among EE ministry goals is to raise leaders. Guided by 2 Tim 2:2, EE participants graduate to become EE trainers who will multiply others in the ministry. The objective to keep passing the baton produces leadership of a very high caliber. Many believers who are trained in EE go on to become trainers and eventually to become church leaders. 7. Developing regular prayer As part of the training, each EE trainee is required to recruit two prayer partners who will pray for him or her throughout the 13-week semester. EE teams also pray together before and after their OJT calls. A church cannot learn to pray in a vacuum where there is little or no service to the Lord. Certainly, when the church looks outward to the lost, it will focus itself to the reason that Jesus came to die. The Lord Himself says, Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest eld. (Matt 9:38) 8. Developing friendly church members A church implementing EE training is on the lookout for prospects with whom they can share their faith. Accordingly, team members often go out of their way to meet new friends to connect with and to share. This attitude brings freshness to any congregation with the eventual addition of newcomers.

(How to share the Gospel this season)

by Dr. Ken Silva

An extraordinary present

Just when you think you can spend Christmas holiday and take a break also from sharing the Gospel, think again. As apostle Paul said, preach the word; be ready in season and out of season. Paul may not necessarily think of Christmas when he wrote these words; point is, always use every opportunity to share the good news. Dr. Ken Silva, EE Resource Senior Vice President, blogged these seven ways you can witness to your family this season. Just remember to be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit and ask for wisdom that you might join God in what He is doing rather than forcing anything to happen.
1. Read the Christmas Story (Luke 2) and share a recent God Story of your own (something God has done in your experience). You shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, God is with us. This is how I know that God has been with me

2. Have the children enact the manger scene. Read it 9. Meeting the needs of the community from Luke 2 in The Message. T-shirts make great EE teams need to connect with people rst before sharing. head coverings and bathrobes tunics.

In the quest to connect, the church visits the community, discovers its needs and raises resources to meet those needs. 3. Around the dinner table, have everyone share What Then and only then, does the church earn the right to Christmas means to me. You can share the gift of communicate the gospel. This cycle is repeated again and again in the experience of those who use EE. forgiveness or salvation.

4. Wrap a present labeled From God. Place a baby Jesus in it along with a verse to be read, John 3:16-18. You may want to share, What Jesus the gift of Jesus has meant to me this year.

10. Living for others.

EE trainees make a commitment to go out on OJTs weekly for the duration of the EE training semester, we make a decision to live for others and not for ourselves (2 Cor 5:15). Jesus died for us to leave us an example that we should no longer live for ourselves. We are showing by our lifestyle 5. If you have young children, serve a birthday cake that other people are more important than our own comforts and selsh ambitions. We proclaim that Jesus is after dinner decorated with Happy Birthday Jesus. Lord of our lives! www.eephil.com

The Gospel for All Ages

Words by: Kenneth Dave L. Cabanda, Field Coordinator for Central Visayas Photo by: Rnell Ian Arsenal, Field Coordinator for Eastern-Western Visayas

Nobody told me about God except you! Her response was very short; behind it is a life-changing experience. Sheryl (not her real name) is Phcyckies friend, a thirteen-year old child who joined one of the trainings in Gen. Santos City. Prior to her knowledge of the Gospel, Sheryl always had conict with Phcyckie. Their conversation about God and the conversion of the former opened the doors for the two to become close friends. Phcyckie is only one of the many children whose lives were changed because of the Evangelism Explosion's Hope for Kids (H4K) ministry. Based on the successful Kids EE discipleship training ministry from EE International, H4K was developed through a joint effort between EE and One Hope. Clarify the Gospel for kids. Assist them to become witnesses for Jesus Christ. Bring others to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. These are the three main purposes of H4K. Keeping these aims help a lot of EE implementing countries in evangelizing the young ones. In EE Philippines, promising results were seen since its kickoff in 2010. Of the total number of trainings that year, including those of other evangelism materials such as XEE, Ev2, Classic EE, etc., 36.6% are from H4K alone. Majority of the professions of faith (POF) or the number of people who prayed to receive the Lord, as well as individuals who heard the Gospel were also from H4K, which is more than 50%. EE trainees have also increased at 44.7% of the total number of clinicians that year. The Lord has truly blessed the ministry to the kids of EE Philippines. In its second year, it has already exceeded the number of clinics conducted, the number of trainees, and the headcount of those who have heard and received Jesus Christ. This is in comparison to the results for the rest of the EE ministries combined. Per November 10 data, here are the results: H4K produced 59.6% of the total number of clinics this year; 69.6% of the clinicians; 78.6% of those who heard the Gospel; and 80.4% of the POFs. Not only that H4K paved the way for more harvest of souls, it also helped churches in their childrens ministry. EE was also beneted in return, as partnership with them would become easier. It has become our spring board to partnership with many churches, as Rnell Arsenal, Field Coordinator for Visayas, would put it. What sets H4K apart from most children ministries is that the high quality training and materials are free for the church; free for the children and for the friends they reach. Materials include a Teachers Manual, Student Activity Book, and the Pathway to Hope witnessing booklet. No wonder many churches adopted it! Moreover, H4K appeals to kids primary learning styles utilizing songs, games, crafts, skits, and illustrations. Every unit includes some object that provides a concrete illustration of one of the key Gospel concepts that is taught in that unit. Through this approach, kids are able to effectively learn and retain the Hope for Kids Gospel. From top to bottom, the materials are biblically based. They incorporate tested and proven methods so kids not only learn to share the Gospel, but also are given a foundation for spiritual growth for life! EE believes the Great Commission is for everyone, not just adults or even youth. Hope for Kids lays a foundation for spiritual growth in children and enables youngsters to respond with excitement and enthusiasm to Jesus command to all of us to be His witnesses. It develops a worldview that is framed by the recognition that without faith in Jesus we are all lost in our sins. For Phcyckie, she has now truly understood what trusting Jesus and being His witness are to be like; and that she learned through the Hope for Kids. She did not only nd a new friend whom once she had conict with. She is now trained to lead other children of her age to trust in Jesus Christ, the one whom every persons conict need to be settled with.

...Filinvest Community Christan Fellowship (Filinvest Homes, Quezon City), Tatalon Christian Fellowship (Tatalon, Quezon City), and Gerizim Evangelical Church (a Chinese congregation in Binondo, Manila). How implementation is done CCBC offered to assist the church through the pastor and the leadership how they can implement. Those who signied their willingness to join come to CCBC for a joint orientation of the training, letting them know of CCBCs commitment and the churches responsibilities as well. Among these responsibilities include initial recruitment of trainees, provision of weekly contacts, preparation of training room and snacks for the participants. On the other hand, CCBC committed to send regular facilitators and team members to each of the four churches. Every Sunday afternoon for eight weeks, trainers were sent to do EV2 training that includes Share Your faith (SYF) during the rst meeting. The training concluded with a joint graduation program held in CCBC last July 29. Tremendous results As a result of this initiative, a total of 45 believers from these churches were equipped and were able to nish the rst semester of the training.

Moreover, there were 240 out of 270 individuals who prayed to receive the Lord A year to celebrate Jesus Christ during the on-the-job training of the teams. The breakdown per church are as follows: 75 out of 77 in Balintawak, 58 out of 61 in Filinvest, 69 out of 71 in It has been a fruitful year for EE Philippines! Together for the Gospel CCBC has been a model implementing church for 25 years. Adopting and mobilizing these four churches is part of their vision for all churches in QC to work together for Vision CQCC: Claiming Quezon City for Christ. We have been aware of other churches that do this same approach of helping smaller congregations in EE implementation. What makes CCBC unique from those existing implementations is that it is the rst local church helping four other churches simultaneously mobilize their evangelism ministry. CCBC now looks forward to even partner with more churches in the coming years. Dr. Rene Atienza, EE Vice President for Asia is one of the prime movers in this local church EV2 implementation. www.eephil.com
