The EAM124 interface module is designed to interface CAT engine controls with external controls such as a Variable Speed Input or a Load Sharing & Synchronizing System. The EAM124 can accept two different inputs, a 0-20 mA input (Terminal 4 referenced to Terminal 2) or a 5.0 V DC input (Terminal 3 referenced to Terminal 2). The 0-20 mA input provides the CAT controller with a wide range of PWM for maximum speed changes. The 5.0 V DC input limits the PWM range (around 50% duty cycle) to trim speed for load sharing and synchronizing. The output of the EAM124 is a current sinking PWM, at 500 Hz. The input signal (PWM duty cycle range) can be field adjusted via the 25-turn potentiometer. The EAM124 uses the same 24 V DC battery power source as the CAT control system.

For 0-20 mA input, supply the current signal to Terminal 4. Terminal 3, 5, and 6 are to remain open. For a 5.0 V DC inputs (load sharing sync signal), connect to Terminal 3. Terminals 5 and 6 must be jumpered together. Terminals 4 must remain open.
