language is divided into 4 components: Reading Writing Speaking Listening Name of the book followed : Wir 1 ,2,3 Reading Reading of the texts in the book Translation of the texts/paragraphs in the book Recommendation of reading books from library The students are asked to read the texts or paragraphs in the chapter and get familiar with the new vocabulary and pronunciation. They are also encouraged to understand the meanings of difficult words or phrases through hints and actions demonstrated by the teachers. This helps to encourage better comprehension. Students are also divided in groups and each group is assigned a task (reading and explanation of a paragraph or text ,formation of dialogues etc.) Speaking Pronunciation Dialog writing Role play Reading aloud of texts, paragraphs or statements Reading with audio support Visual aids (Charts with pictorial drawings) Speaking and reading goes hand - in hand. The students are asked to speak the paragraphs or statements collectively after a ingle reading. They are encouraged to formulate dialogues and speak in class. Few exercises are practiced in form of role play. They are also encouraged to speak amongst themselves in german. The general statements like wishes, questions, expressions etc are made to speak in german. The pronunciation is improved with the audio support where the person in the CD speaks and students are made to repeat it. They are also provided with vocabulary worksheets

on regular basis which contains the meanings of all the difficult words of every chapter along with the pronunciation. This helps them to retain the correct pronunciation till a longer period of time. By class IX children gain confidence and fluency in the language and they are in a state to understand and converse totally in german with the teachers. Listening Learning of the pronunciation of new words. Solving of the exercises based on listening. A listening session based on every chapter is conducted in class. The CD player is brought to the class and CD is played. The students are made to solve the exercises based on every chapter. Practice of pronunciation is also given to them. An exercise of summarization is also practiced where after listening the text the students are asked to express what they have understood in brief. Introduction to German Culture Listening to German songs. Visual aids. Participation in extra activities of german. Formation of GERMAN CLUB. The students are made to listen german songs after listening the song for 2-3 times ,they are in a state to sing the song with / without the background music only.This helps them to improve their vocabulary and also increases their interest in the language. The students will also be shown a piece of Video related to that the chapters and they will be asked to solve the exercises based on the same. This will again build up interest in the language. Also,activities such as participation in german exbhition and competitions like quiz, Fit eins, Fit zwei facilitates them with good exposure and also helps in reiterating the learning of german language.
