Attention: Human Resources The following is a brief letter outlying how I feel that I could benefit your company. I believe my skills are well rounded and I have acquired the experience necessary to manage effectively. I have worked at EH Florist Inc. since 2000. I took on management of the store in 2005 and purchased the store in 2007. In that time, we have won the Outstanding Business of the Year award for 2004, and Customer Excellence in 2006 from the WRSS Chamber of Commerce. We have won the readers choice Best Florist on the Peninsula from 2005-2011. EH has enjoyed a strong, steady increase in sales and profitability under my management. My highest standards come from exceptional customer service, caring & building relationships with coworkers and customers, while providing the best quality products at all times. Profitability: Over the last 5 years of owning my own business I have concentrated on profitability. By improving buying power and reducing cost of goods and more efficient staffing, I have increased profits. I have also reduced inventory and turned over product on a quicker more cost reducing method, without affecting product quality. Purchasing: In the past, I have purchased for an educational book store, where I ordered from up to 30 national book sellers. In the floral industry, I have traveled to various gift & floral shows in Canada & the US, and purchased products in volume for the year. I have tracked trends and products to make sure are in line with retail trends and consumer needs. Sales & Marketing: My sales ability has always rested in what I believe to be the best for my customers. If I believe in a product, I can sell confidently to best suit my customers needs. I am very confident in working with people in any field. The key to Marketing is research, to make sure every dollar is targeted to area needed, like events, demographics, locations, or customers etc. Movement to online and mobile media is a current issue with most businesses and needs to be addressed. Administration & HR I have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and web programs, which I have used successfully for mail outs, web site and other advertising. EH Florist operates the Teleflora POS system which includes a customer data base and marketing module. I strongly believe in hiring the right fit for a team, recognizing strengths and allowing each person room to flourish in areas they excel in. Creating a happy stress free working environment is key in profitability and customer service. Scheduling regular staff and seasonal staff for holidays and setting up daily operations and operation manuals are another of my strengths. Organization & Efficient workspaces: I am a strong organizer and multi-tasker and have the ability to recognize poorly run office and workspace areas. I can create a more efficient and cost effective worksite. Also in retail I have the ability to layout store design and consumer traffic patterns by identifying strong and weak areas, reducing clutter, angles of displays and then making all areas into strong sales points. I would love to continue to advance my career, if the salaries are realistic to my experience and advancement of my career.
