1. Preface
1. Preface
Thank you for purchasing the Meiden AC Speed Control Equipment "THYFREC-VT240S". This manual explains the CC-Link interface, mounted on the THYFREC-VT240S as an option. By using the CC-Link interface, the VT240S can be connected to a network having CC-Link protocol. Always read this instruction manual before using the interface. After reading, keep this manual with the applicable inverter instruction manual where they can be easily accessed for reference. Make sure that this manual is delivered to the final user. The V24-SL3 can be used with the VT240S ROM version 9458.4 and above.

1. Wait at least 10 minutes after turning the power OFF. Confirm that all displays on the operation panel have turned OFF, and then remove the front cover. 2. After removing the front cover, confirm that the "CHARGE" LED in the unit is turned OFF. Also confirm that the voltage between the L+1 or L+2 and L- terminals is 15V or less. (If the unit is not provided with the L- terminal, check with the "CHARGE" LED.) (2) Mount the CC-Link interface PCB option in the control PCB cover's option II position. If another PCB option is already mounted in the option II position, mount the PCB in the option III position. Refer to Fig. 3-1. CAUTION
CAUTION
1. Observe the section "2-4 Precautions for wiring to the control signal" in the "VT240S Instruction Manual (document No.: ST-3450)" when wiring the cables.

1. Always observe the following precautions when removing the option PCB from the device. Always turn the power OFF before starting. Do not turn the power ON until all work is completed. The operator should wear a grounding wrist band, etc., to prevent damage from static electricity. Always follow the precautions given in the applicable inverter's Instruction Manual before turning the power OFF. CAUTION
CAUTION
1. When connecting an externally connected cable to the option PCB, make sure that the cable is connected to a compatible connector. 2. Using an incompatible connector or incorrectly connected connector, etc., could result in damage to the external device or option PCB, and could lead to fires or smoke.

The network cable wiring and main circuit wiring should be separated as far as possible. When laying the wires in parallel, separate them by 30cm or more, and do not lay them in the same duct. If the network cable and main circuit wiring intersect, intersect them at a right angle. Check that the inverter power is OFF and stopped, and that the CC-Link interface PCB is installed on the inverter before connecting the network cable. Control source switchover method (J2 setting): C00-6=2 (Serial input) 3. Confirming station No. Confirm the local station No. with D40-0. The setting is changed with the rotary switch on the CC-Link interface. Turn the power OFF and ON after changing the setting. 4. Confirming the number of occupied stations Confirm the number of stations occupied by the local station with D40-1. The setting is changed with the DIP switch on the interface. Turn the power OFF and ON after changing the setting. 5. Confirming the baud rate Confirm the baud rate with D40-2. The setting is changed with the rotary switch on the interface. Turn the power OFF and ON after changing the setting. 6. Confirming the transmission version Confirm the transmission version with C38-2. The setting is changed with the Operation panel. Precautions
The input/output data is refreshed every 10msec with the interval process, but the parameter operations (parameter write/read) are processed in the background (BG). The response will be 100msec or more. The fault information for the CC-Link interface is shown below.
(1) Details of fault codes (Displayed on operation panel) "IO-7" fault (Starting not possible): Judged at the initialization process. This occurs if the system does not start within 3 seconds after the interface system is reset during initialization or fault reset. The inverter unit also will not start in this case. "IO-8" fault (WDT): Judged with the interval process. This fault occurs if there is no response from the inverter for 100msec during normal operation. "IO-9" fault (Transmission error): Judged with the interval process. This fault occurs if the output data is not received from the CC-Link master station for approx. 105ms or more (at 10Mbps). (2) Resetting the fault If an interface fault occurs during normal operation, the interface can be reset by resetting the fault. If "IO-7" occurs immediately after starting up, there may be an error in the interface. 3. The precautions for using the parameter write/read function are given below.
(1) Data No. The data numbers are the same as those given in the parameter setting table. Refer to Chapter 6 Control functions and parameter settings in the "VT240S Instruction Manual (document No. ST-3450)" for details. If the target data is not found in the main unit, the main unit will ignore this data. In this case, an error will be set in the IO status. (Refer to section 4-4-2 Function code: 3 Parameter A write) (2) Data processing speed The data is processed in the background (BG). The main unit's response will be extremely slow, and the response time will always be unstable. Thus, the time delay must be considered during application. (3) Application design If the same items are selected for the various setting data and multiplexed data and different output data is set, the data will ultimately be refreshed to the various setting data. However, as the operation on the main unit side will be unstable, do not design this type of application. (4) Parameter writing The multiplexed data has all functions that can be operated on the operation panel. Thus, if the application is not suitable, the inverter functions may also be changed, so take special care when setting the data.
