11.1 General information

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.1.1

Purpose

TATA Steel is providing Conveyance Allowance / Reimbursing conveyance expenditure to the employees to commute to the office. For some of the employees Company is providing Cars under different schemes. Eligibility of the employees for conveyance related benefits are configured in this section.

11.1.2

Description

Car & Conveyances is a benefit provided by the employee to commute to office and for official purpose based on their applicability. The company car could be provided for employee's use with or without the provision to transfer the ownership of the car to the employee at the end of a specified period. The benefit of a Company provided car is provided to employees for official use. Company cars are also provided for the personal use of the employee where a perquisite value is attached to the use of the car based on the horsepower of the car and the extent of benefit provided to the employee. If the employee is provided with a driver for a car an additional perquisite value is added for the driver. The perquisite values attached are fully taxable and added to the gross salary. 11.2 Define Vehicle Details

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.2.1

Purpose

In Tata Steel some employees are provided with Company Cars under different schemes COCS Employer Maintained and COCS Employee Maintained. In this activity, details of the vehicles provided to the employees by Tata Steel, such as the type of car and its horsepower, are configured.

11.2.2

Description

Details of the vehicles provided by the Company towards Company Owned Car Scheme (COCS) / Own Your Car Scheme (OYCS) shall be captured in this configuration node. Vehicle details include Car Type, Car Description, Car HP and Car CC. System calculates Tax exemption as per Income Tax Laws based on the Type of car provided to the employee.

11.3 Define Conveyance Types

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.3.1

Purpose

In TATA Steel different conveyance types are provided to the employees based on their eligibility criteria. In this activity, Codes for conveyance types shall be defined.

11.3.2

Description

Conveyance types codes shall be defined in this configuration node. There are six preconfigured conveyance types are provided by SAP in the system. They are 1. Availing Company Owned car Scheme (COCS), 2. Availing Own Your Car Scheme (OYCS) 3. Availing Company Transport 4. Own Four Wheeler 5. Own Two Wheeler 6. No Vehicle. Choose conveyance types from the available codes provided in the system. If existing codes are not suitable for Company requirements then only go for creating new conveyance types. Based on the chosen code for Conveyance Type, wage type placement or substitution will happen in Infotype 0008. Explanation 1. You can create additional codes for Conveyance Type in the name range 'F' through 'Z'.

The codes for Conveyance Type will be associated with Tax codes. This activity can be accessed from Payroll India -> Tax -> Define Tax Codes.

11.4 Define Amounts and Numbers for Car schemes

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.4.1

Purpose

In this activity, employees' entitlement to a company-owned car shall be maintained.

11.4.2

Description

Employees' entitlement to a company-owned car, allowance grouping wise, shall be maintained in this configuration node. Allowance Group, Car Scheme applicable for that particular group, No of eligible cars and total value of the Car applicable for the employee group in that Allowance group shall be maintained here. 11.5 Assign Type and Age of Car for Car Schemes

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.5.1

Purpose

As per TATA Steel, certain employee groups are eligible for Company Cars as per Company Owned car Schemes. Type of car and maximum age of car to be provided to eligible employee as per Company Policy shall be provided.

11.5.2

Description

The information related to eligibility criteria of car related schemes shall be configured in this node. Company Owned Car Scheme Employer maintained and Company Owned Car Scheme Employee Maintained are the car related schemes employees are eligible based on the Allowance grouping. Type of car and maximum age of car to be provided to employees shall also be configured in this node. Explanation 1. 11.6 Assign Eligibility Criteria for Conveyance Allowance

This section describes the Configurable Item in detail:-

11.6.1

Purpose

In TATA Steel as per Company Policy, based on the applicability of Conveyance Types to employee certain conveyance allowances / reimbursements are provided to the employee. In this activity, Conveyance related wage types used to calculate eligibility amounts for conveyance Allowance.

11.6.2

Description

Conveyance related wage types used to calculate eligibility amounts for conveyance and the type of vehicle to an allowance grouping. These inputs are used to calculate the eligible amounts payable to employees who belong to the respective allowance grouping. Based on the chosen code for Conveyance Type, wage type placement or substitution will happen in Infotype 0008. This assignment of Allowance Grouping, Conveyance Code and Wage Types will activate the system defined dynamic action between Basic pay Infotype (0008) and Car & Conveyance related Infotype (0583).
