tinCaps C.a.R.e.
The TinCaps C.A.R.E. program stands for Community, Activity, Recreation and Education. The mission of TinCaps C.A.R.E. is to give back to the citizens of Northeast Indiana through outreach, charitable & community programs and events, fundraising, and partnerships with local and regional charitable organizations.
community outreach Through our community outreach efforts and partnerships, the TinCaps have given those less fortunate in our community the opportunity to experience TinCaps games and other events at Parkview Field. The TinCaps mascot, Johnny, and our players make appearances at local hospitals, schools, little leagues and community partners. The TinCaps worked with nearly 30 organizations in 2012.
charitable and community programs The TinCaps engage in various charitable programs, the largest and most notable of which is the TinCaps Reading Program. The reading program is an incentive-based system implemented in partnership with schools and libraries throughout Northeast Indiana, Northwest Ohio, and Southern Michigan. Over 300 schools and libraries (with over 100,000 students) participated in this program in 2012.
charitable and community events Throughout the year, the TinCaps and our staff organize charitable & community events. In 2012 these events included Hammerin for Habitat, events to raise funds and awareness for prostate and breast cancer research, an on-field swearin for the National Guard, and providing free Fright Night and HolidayFest activities within the downtown community.
Fundraising In addition to donations to charitable groups and partnerships on fundraising auctions, the TinCaps Gameday Fundraising Program allows organizations to sell TinCaps tickets and retain a percentage of the profits. Beneficiaries of the program include local Little Leagues that raised over $60,000 through the program in 2012.
partnerships with community organizations The TinCaps partnered with over 60 community, local, and regional organizations in 2012 through our Community Organization of the Game, program which showcases a single organization during a TinCaps game. Partner organizations are able to put their message and mission in front of thousands of TinCaps fans via a kiosk display, video board features, and public address announcements.
The TinCaps continue to strive to give back to the community in which we all live.

The TinCaps followed up a tremendous 2011 at Parkview Field with a recordbreaking 2012 season. The TinCaps have sustained an annual attendance average that, nationally, is on par with or above Triple-A franchises in much larger markets such as Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Omaha, and Charlotte. With an average of nearly 500,000 attendees over the past four seasons, Parkview Field has become a vital and vibrant part of the Fort Wayne community and one of the most successful venues in all of Minor League Baseball.
The TinCaps are looking to reach even greater heights in the upcoming years. Beyond the scheduled TinCaps games and the growing slate of special events, we are constantly looking to provide entertainment for our fans and community. Events have included concerts from national touring artists, Division-1 athletic games and tournaments, and conventions that would not have considered Fort Wayne prior to the Harrison Square project.

in minor league baseball, there is always a group of die-hard fans who come to the ballpark for the game played on the field. however, for the vast majority of those who come to a minor league baseball game, balls and strikes are secondary to what else is going on in the ballpark. they are drawn to buy a ticket for the game because of a promotion, whether it is discounted food, a favorite mascot, or a theme night. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy to work with and accepting they were of my ideas that I brought to the table. With their input and flexibility, I knew that the TinCaps were a definite answer in helping to build community awareness for the Girl Scout of Northern Indiana-Michiana. Our organization truly values the relationship that we have been able to build with the TinCaps. Year one, our first night was a HUGE success and year two, even bigger and better! The entire staff is very accommodating and their customer service is phenomenal! Outstanding people, outstanding work ethic, outstanding organization, and outstanding PR results!
