      EK NAYI DUNIYA: WHAT IT SEEKS TO DO The Indian Arranged Marriage presents a fascinating dynamic and a unique equation between the sexes. It’s an arrangement, a match that’s put together by a system that expects the marriage to work simply because it is tried and tested. Over centuries. It has worked. And continues to work. The divorce rates in India are among the lowest in the world. Yet, it isn’t exactly ‘And They Lived Happily Everafter’ situation that we have seen in most Indian films about the arranged marriage. In the conventional Hindi film narrative, a couple bound in matrimony inevitably falls in love. This cannot be further from reality today as couples in metros are falling apart, unable to reconcile their differences, especially when the woman is strong-minded, truly liberated and fiercely independent. This isn’t because culture, tradition or society is to be blamed. This is because men and women are built so differently that even if they were the last people left on the planet, they would still have issues living with each other IF they were equals. After the first draft of this idea, I realised that no matter how I played it, it would seem like I am criticising the Hindu arranged marriage system simply because the film chooses to highlight conflict and the tension that’s bound to rise. To ensure that the conflict takes centre-stage and does not get hijacked or distracted by the cultural and socio-political subtext that isn’t intended, I decided to explore this dynamic of the arrangement through the lens of science fiction. What if this was a story of the modern day Adam and Eve? Two people who are products of the world that was. Two people who are the only survivors of an apocalypse triggered by man’s disregard for nature. What if they got a chance to start afresh? Would they go nature’s way or want to stick to what years of nurture taught them? Man, a soldier of the system, is a survivor who would do anything to feel safe, inexplicably attached to the concept of a home. Or the nurturing of the mother. (Though the character will never be referred to by name in the film, I call him RUDY, short for RUDRA KAILASH SINGH – a name borrowed from God of destruction – Shiva.) Woman, an explorer always questioning the world, is a preserver who would do anything to protect, and is too wild to be tamed by any boundary, man-made or otherwise. She’s nature herself. (Though she will never be referred to by name in the film either, I call her BHAIRAVI, short for BHAIRAVI KUMAR – a name borrowed from the fierce Goddess, the other half of SHIVA/RUDRA.) Can these opposites really fall in love? What is this home and the world they want to start together? A unit of the system that will lay down rules on how things must play out for the future? Or an unending quest? Is it a physical place? An emotional state? Or a mental space? To understand who they are, we need to understand what made them – the system. Is there someone who’s controlling what’s happening to them? Or can they beat this system? There are no easy answers. Hence, this is a film that hopes to provoke you into thinking about what we really want, how we want to live and where? This is a puzzle of a film that can be interpreted according to your own faith and belief system. But it also assures you that there may be other possibilities too. Equally real.     00:00:00 1 INT.CLINIC - DAY Over black. SHRINK The same dream everytime? BHAIRAVI Yes. SHRINK Does he have a face? BHAIRAVI Not clearly. I see a blurry figure and before I know it, the same nightmare and I wake up. SHRINK Dont worry. Thats what I am here for. POV:BHAIRAVI She opens her eyes to see a light above as a silhouette of a doctor leans towards her with an injection that reads DRESEMURA-1. We dont see BHAIRAVI, only a shot of her arm. SHRINK Lets go. Unlock your mind. Close up of the injection... The doctor gives her a shot. FADE TO WHITE 2 EXT.BEACH - DAY WHITE SCREEN. BIG BLOCK BLACK LETTERS: THE WILD POV:RUDY We fall out of the white clouds as we make an entry into earth. Point of view of a skydiver: Theres rich blue water everywhere and small strips of land in the middle of it as a chute opens up. We steer ourselves towards the shore where we spot another chute on the ground. Its a perfect landing. POV ENDS (CONTINUED) 2 1

    RUDY, THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS OLD, sporting airtight goggles, in a strange body hugging jumpsuit and helmet, carrying a huge waterproof knapsack, puts the heavy bag down and begins to pack up the parachute. He opens the bag, pulls out a gun, tucks it into his pants and then pulls out a Telepod* (A telepod is a multipurpose gadget used for communication using radio and satellite signals. It has an inbuilt radar, radio, Geiger Counter to check radiation and is also used as a pod that can be synced to the MacBook they carry on them) He thinks for a moment and holds the telepod against the air... The Geiger Counter Monitor does not beep. From his reaction, we can tell hes safe. He takes his goggles off. We see the pristine virgin landscape of the island as RUDY jogs towards the direction of the chute but sees no one around. He finds an identical knapsack but the suit and clothes are on the bag. His eyes then follow the footprint that leads to the beach as he spots THIRTY-FIVE YEAR OLD BHAIRAVI swimming in the lagoon. On spotting him, she begins to walk towards her clothes and slips into her pants. BHAIRAVI Water!!! RUDY Its not contaminated! BHAIRAVI I know... You should take a bath sometimes. RUDY Ill take a raincheck on the getting naked bit. Lets set up camp first. RUDY turns around and begins to walk towards his knapsack. CUT TO 3 EXT.BEACH - DAY 3

    RUDY opens his MacBook and connects to the satellite. They see a map of the world with dots blinking. He clicks satellite view. 0 Satellites Found. RUDY keeps hitting Refresh. Desperately, again and again. Suddenly, he gets an idea. He takes his telepod, points it to the sky and clicks a photo. He connects it to his laptop and uploads the image into an application that seems to have snapshots (CONTINUED)

    of different constellations. A program processes the image and generates a timecode, sort of a countdown. It shows there are five hours more. 00:02:30 MONTAGE SEQUENCE BEGINS Opening credits as the two set up camp : CUT TO We see everything that they have in the knapsack including the knapsack marked with a logo of the World. They obviously belong to some kind of organisation. (We see the logo all through the film in one object or the other but never really focus on it) They collect seawater in a metal flask and use a distiller that purifies it instantly before they drink it from the cap of the flask thats styled like a mug. CUT TO We see them help each other put up a tent. They cut wood, dig a small trench around the tent and set it on fire. They also make themselves a campfire. CUT TO RUDY goes to the beach, and takes a brief dip in the sea hesitantly, mostly to take a bath than to soak in and swim. He returns back fresh to the tent and sets up a small fire for a roast. CUT TO 4 EXT.BEACH - NIGHT 4

    BHAIRAVI walks in just in time to see him all set to roast something in a helmet thats shaking violently. She kicks the helmet and and a crab runs back to the sea. BHAIRAVI stares at him and gives him her pills too. As she goes and sits away, he walks up to her to return her pills back. They pop pills and drink water. CUT TO 5 EXT.CAMP - NIGHT They keep a ball like object as some sort of deity on a rock in front of the fire. RUDY extends his hand to BHAIRAVI as she gets up. (CONTINUED) 5

    He walks around the fire seven times and they stand in front of the ball with their right palm to the heart and take an oath we dont hear because of the music. It looks like a wedding ritual thats equal parts science and religion as the ceremony is timed to be in sync with the eclipse. At the end of it, the timer on the gadget beeps and we see the time on the Macbook 00:00:00 CUT TO 6 INT.TENT - NIGHT RUDY makes the bed for BHAIRAVI inside the tent. She sees he has the DUNIA survival guide out already, picks it up. BHAIRAVI Did you think of a name? RUDY According to the Roadmap, we need to contact them first. We dont know where they are BHAIRAVI You and your timetable She puts the survival guide away. He goes for a walk. She tries to lie back but unhappy with the view of the tent above, she takes the sleeping bag out. CUT TO 7 EXT.BEACH - NIGHT She lies down under the stars. The insects around leave her feeling itchy and scratchy. She prefers being out in the wild than feel claustrophobic inside the tent. Stung by an insect, she gets up in pain. She figures she needs to wash it off. Seeing no sign of RUDY, she wonders if she should get more comfortable. She looks at the sea, decides to go for that swim that was cut short earlier in the evening. CUT TO We wait at the tent as RUDY spots her away at sea. He drops his pants and heads towards her. Shes a little surprised by him without his pants and sinks into the water herself to cover up a little more, giving him a (CONTINUED) 7 6

    surprised scandalized stare. He pretends he came down for a wash and rushes back in a moment visibly embarrassed. CUT TO 8 INT.TENT - NIGHT RUDY opens the Macbook and clicks open the Chat app. He pings Mama. RUDY: How am I supposed to do it? MAMA: Do what? RUDY: The (dramatic pause before he types the rest) mating ritual MAMA: (pause before a link appears) RUDY: Chemistrys the problem, not biology. Barely know her. He anyway clicks on the link. RUDY opens and sees a pornographic clip from MAMA. He closes the window as BHAIRAVI walks in. Hes embarrassed. BHAIRAVI picks her other set of clothes up and heads back to the beach. RUDY closes the Macbook and decides to head there too. We follow him. CUT TO 9 EXT.BEACH - NIGHT 9 8

    BHAIRAVI is picking up shells, RUDY watches her. He sees her look at a shell. He picks up another identical one and gives it to her, holding it to her ear. She smiles and holds his hand. Its cold. BHAIRAVI Shakti RUDY Prithvi BHAIRAVI Thats a guys name. Shakti is neutral. Or Krishna. RUDY Not the ideal vibe BHAIRAVI Why not?

    RUDY Krishna is just too much music, mischief, masti... It doesnt sound serious. BHAIRAVI Whats wrong with that? RUDY Nothing except he had 16,108 wives. BHAIRAVI But think about the sound of it. Krishna could be a man or a womans name. Besides, 16,000? RUDY Yes... and 108. 16,108! BHAIRAVI Did he have time for everyone? RUDY I dont know BHAIRAVI (smiles) Whats with these people? Draupadi, she was with like five men. Would you like sharing your wife with four other men? RUDY They were brothers BHAIRAVI Eww. How did they manage? Drew up a schedule? RUDY I dont know BHAIRAVI You arent curious? RUDY Thats not the point. I thought we were brainstorming. BHAIRAVI Yes, I think Krishna is perfectly fine but if you have a problem with personality traits, how about Shakti?

    RUDY It doesnt sound right? BHAIRAVI Why not? It sounds so powerful. RUDY When I think of Shakti, I think Shakti Kapoor. Andaman, Nicobar, Lakshwadeep, Mauritius, Maldives, and...Shakti Kapoor. BHAIRAVI Okay, Krishna then. Krishna Island... Now, Shhh! This is so beautiful! Awkward silence as they landscape. RUDY takes a on his gadget. He looks now a full moon as they The eclipse is over. RUDY Ready? CUT TO 00:09:50 10 INT.TENT - NIGHT She walks back towards the bed and sits. He sits beside her. Theres awkward silence. She quietly and clinically takes her jumpsuit off (shes got a slip underneath). He leans towards for a kiss. She gently pushes him and reaches for his shirt and unzips him. He pounces on her the minute the zip is off. He sticks his mouth into her as she pulls away disgusted by his breath. CUT TO We see RUDY brushing his teeth, muttering to himself. He gurgles, checks his breath and returns to her. CUT TO She calls the shots. She tries to initiate the kiss this time. He kisses briefly. Its a very clinical kiss. 10 sit back to absorb the virgin deep breath as he hears the beep at her and towards the sky, its both realise. Its time.

    She looks at him, he seems a little nervous. She pulls him closer by his hair and within moments his awkwardness turns into raw aggression as he overpowers her. She fights back to get on top but hes in no mood to budge. She closes her eyes. We are immersed in 15 seconds of darkness, during which we hear movement on the bed and muffled sounds, until RUDY makes a sound of discomfort. BHAIRAVI opens her eyes realizes that her Telepod was on the bed and RUDY just felt an edge of it against his back. She grabs her Telepod and realises he is naked now. She retreats, pulls her slip down. RUDY realises it was just her telepod, takes it from her and puts it away. BHAIRAVI is in absolute shock. As he tries to kiss her again, she starts resisting him and pushes him back to create distance between them. RUDY tries again. She pushes him again. Now, RUDY takes charge and forces himself over her, having pinned her to the ground. RUDY The first time is always awkward BHAIRAVI pushes him again. RUDY persists and continues to force himself on her when she finally blurts out. BHAIRAVI This isnt my first... RUDY gives her a angry. He storms himself. We stay shirt. She looks looks out of the her as he can. glare like she lied to him before. He is out, grabbing a jumpsuit to cover with her. She lies back in bed, wears her at a rash of the insect bite, and then tent where RUDY is getting far away from CUT TO 00:12:00 11 EXT.BEACH - NIGHT RUDY walks around the shore. He sits on the sand and wonders if he did something wrong. 15 seconds of introspection. Suddenly, he finds himself strangled by someone from behind him. He gasps struggles as the grip gets stronger. but cannot hear himself. As he falls clubbed with brute force. with a piece of twine for breath and He tries to scream unconscious, he is 11

    JUMP CUT TO 00:13:00 12 EXT.BEACH - DAY 12

    The next morning, RUDY wakes up dazed and confused, bruised and hurt. He rushes towards the camp and pulls the tent screen wide open waking BHAIRAVI up with a start. BHAIRAVI What happened? RUDY (muttering) I was attacked. BHAIRAVI What? RUDY shoves her aside and gets his gun and puts it in the back of his pants as BHAIRAVI looks scared. He looks for footprints but doesnt find any. CUT TO 13 EXT.FOREST - DAY 13

    RUDY runs into the jungle to look for tracks but realises hes lost with no clue. He can sense someone watching him. He looks around and can spot leaves moving. He gets violent in rage and hits the tree with a branch with brute force again and again. He then hears more noise and he decides to compose himself, gets a good grip, still angry and scared and bends to watch whats the movement when a hand reaches his shoulder and he instinctively is about to hit back... Its BHAIRAVI. BHAIRAVI What happened? He says nothing but just walks back to the beach snapping out of his phobia. CUT TO 00:14:00

    EXT.BEACH - DAY

    14

    They start the day together with a prayer and a Surya Namaskar. Its a fresh start. She ties a seashell bracelet around his wrist She hits the keys on her Telepod, and calls ADITI. The call doesn;t go through, the Pod is faulty. She smacks the back of the Pod and squeezes its sides, then tries again. Shes successful this time. ADITI Hey, how is it going? BHAIRAVI (bittersweet) Great, sister. ADITI Anything I can do for you? BHAIRAVI I wish. ADITI Try me. BHAIRAVI I miss you. ADITI I miss you too. The sun has just risen as it forms the backdrop for a drone operated by RUDY that picks up a radio signal from the sea. The signal indicated it was within range. Must be about 40-50 kilometres. RUDY sets it down. CUT TO 00:15:00 RUDY ties a hanky to a stick to determine the direction of the wind and throws a stick into the ocean to determine direction of the ocean current. He figures it was heading the same direction as the telepod which was possibly floating in the water. BHAIRAVI comes out of the woods with wild berries after testing it for radiation with her Telepod. RUDY We need to get out of here. Its not safe. The signal is about 40 km away.

    BHAIRAVI But how do we get there? CUT TO 00:16:00 15 EXT.SEA - DAY 15

    She makes herself comfortable for the swim wearing just the lifejacket over her innerwear. RUDY gives her a disapproving look. He thinks shes a slut. He thought she was a virgin. They leave their parachutes behind. They float with the current to take them to the telepod. Song montage begins. BHAIRAVI tries dipping him in water for fun. He gets a quick flash of a corpse floating underwater (we see a brief glimpse that this is his own corpse with a bloody torso) and he runs out of breath and comes to the surface. He does not take the joke lightly, almost gets violent with her. She then lets him be, enjoys the depth of the sea with all the exotic underwater life while he just boringly stays afloat and we cut to the first conversation he had with her. CUT TO 16 INT.OFFICE - DAY Flashback 1 RUDY and BHAIRAVI are sitting across the table like its a formal interview. They both look much younger. BHAIRAVI So they say we are a perfect pair. RUDY They are always right with these things. Horoscopic Algorithms. BHAIRAVI I just figured arranged marriages have a high success rate. Awkward silence. RUDY You want to ask me something? 16

    CONTINUED: BHAIRAVI In a hypothetical situation lets say were on a sinking boat and there is only one life jacket available, whose life would you save? Mine or yours? RUDY (thinks for a while) Mine. BHAIRAVI I am impressed! But after listening to this, I can reject you you know... RUDY I will save my life. And you...are my life. BHAIRAVI Filmy. How many girlfriends do you have? RUDY One. I mean I had one. BHAIRAVI Had...I dont want to know. I had one too. RUDY Had? BHAIRAVI Not now. You want to know anything else? RUDY No, thanks.

    CUT TO 00:18:00 17 EXT.SEA - NIGHT They find that the telepod is going far and far away at the end of the day but they find something afloat at a distance. They begin to swim towards it in the darkness. They realise it is a corpse left half eaten. RUDY gets a flash of the previous corpse. Was it a premonition? Its identical to the corpse he saw - it does not have a face. RUDY is shocked and swims to the shore. (CONTINUED) 17

    CONTINUED:

    CUT TO 18 EXT.BEACH - NIGHT BHAIRAVI drags the body and follows him to the shore. RUDY sees this and returns to lend a hand. Then she opens up her Telepod, checks for signal. She waits for a while, then shakes the Pod. The signal is a few kilometres away. BHAIRAVI Come on, the signals a couple of kilometres around here. RUDY The pod must be his... BHAIRAVI Katie was his partner, maybe shes still alive. RUDY No chance. BHAIRAVI You coming or not? RUDY No, and you shouldnt as well. If we can actually find Katie, she will be in the same state.     BHAIRAVI leaves him behind and spots the parachute on the surface. It belongs to Joseph & Katie. She goes underwater, sees the basket. Its empty. She swims away from it. BHAIRAVI swims around unable to find anyone or the signal as her telepod loses battery. Its dark and she is lost when she finds something under the reef.     They find something that gets them excited and they help each other pull it. They work hard at pulling. They tie ropes and pull it to maneuver it and manage to free it. We dont see what it is, till they are back to the surface. They celebrate and we see...an old fibre boat thats popped to the surface. CUT TO 00:23:00 23 EXT.BEACH - DAY They pull the boat to the shore, dry the motor, set a little of it on fire. He goes to the sea to get fish. CUT TO 24 EXT.FOREST - DAY 24 23

    She goes to get more wild berries and mint leaves. We follow BHAIRAVI into the jungle as she sees familiar trees and plants. She hears a noise. BHAIRAVI Katie? She follows the breeze and finds a familiar tree. The one that RUDY rained blows on their first morning on the island. She recognises the place. She walks the trail and lands back at their camp fire.     EXT. BEACH - DAY RUDY uses his net to catch fish and hauls in it to cook when he finds BHAIRAVI walk towards him. BHAIRAVI I have bad news. Were back to where we started. RUDY What? BHAIRAVI The current brought us back to the west side of the island. I walked east and found our old camp. RUDY is visibily upset and frustrated as she offers him berries and mint leaves. RUDY That is not food!

    Through the montage, we hear snatches of different conversations between RUDY and BHAIRAVI over the following visuals as well as inserts of forms being filled or ticked or signed under different categories. The forms have the same logo they have on their knapsack and other merchandise on the island. The name of the organisation is DUNIA. A plate of berries and fruit along with pills lie on a table in front of a younger RUDY. Hes reluctantly eating them. RUDY and BHAIRAVI are eating at the training facility pretty much the same kind of diet they have on the island. BHAIRAVI (V.O) Papa was part of the first batch, back when there was nothing. INSERT: Black and white photos of DAD along with other "scientists" infront of the DUNIA banner and other assorted photos of him when he was younger.

    The MOTHER STATION is a big golden ball, a temple like structure (Picture Reference: Matrimandir at Auroville). This doesnt seem completely scientific and seems to have a spiritual vibe to it. The same science meets religion vibe. BHAIRAVI (V.O) Now look, a new world. If Mum were alive, she wouldnt have believed this was even possible. And she wouldnt have let me go. RUDY (V.O) Mum was a housewife, Papa an Army officer. So I joined the Army. I got posted to the UN and assigned on this project... CUT TO 28 INT.GYM - DAY 1. Meditation and breathing exercises. With no luck with the boat, RUDY opens his MacBook and sees pictures of his younger self and his family and the girl. He dials Mama. He loses the connection and swears. He tries again. No success. He squeezes it and shakes it. It works this time. RUDY Yeh mere saath kya ho raha hai? MAMA Lets hear that again. In English this time. He rips out the bracelet and throws it into the sea out of frustration. The camera buzzes around like an insect haphazardly and lands on his neck. He swats it. It leaves a red swollen mark on his neck. CUT TO 35 EXT.BEACH [PLEASEINSERT\PRERENDERUNICODE{}INTOPREAMBLE] AS NIGHT 35 They go to sleep separately: he on the boat, she on the beach, under a tree. We see the bracelet back on the shore, and a snake slithers by it. CUT TO 00:30:00 36 EXT. BEACH - NIGHT 36

    BHAIRAVI wakes up in the middle of the night and finds a fallen apple by her side. She picks it up, surprised and decides to head in the forest to find more. She walks past the bracelet, not seeing it in the dark. Its completely dark in the jungle as BHAIRAVI pulls out more leaves and berries when she finds something purplish. She uses the flashlight and finds purple mushrooms in clusters around the bushes. She picks up a few of those, sniffs them, smiles and stuffs them in her bag along with the fruit.

    She picks up all the stuff lying around, puts it in the boat. She reaches out to the anchor and yanks it off the sea bed. With the parachute in the foreground we see the boat drift away in the dead of the night. FADE TO BLACK BIG BLOCK WHITE LETTERS: THE CRADLE OF INVENTION We rush through a series of neurons inside the human brain as we hear... SHRINK V.O (whispering extemely soft) Escape. Control. Alt.     We wake up on the boat with RUDY who is puzzled and wakes her up. RUDY Are you crazy? Why did you do this? BHAIRAVI Chalo, at least you woke up not knowing what you are doing today. RUDY searches for an answer but has none. RUDY looks at his pod, no satellites found. He tries starting the motor, it doesnt work. RUDY We HAVE to get to the Mother Station. BHAIRAVI If you dont know where we are, how will you know where to go? Pause as RUDY starts seething with rage. He clenches his fists and bites his teeth and we can sense something take over him as she talks. RUDY (shouting) You are the reason for the failure of the mission, right (MORE) (CONTINUED)

    RUDY (contd) from Day 1. During the eclipse we were supposed to be mate, but you screwed that up. He pounces on her and pushes her off the boat. She tries to stay afloat as he continues his rant. She is shocked by the sudden outburst of his manic rage. She tries swimming back to the boat. He screams violently and kicks the motor out of frustration. We see that shes realised something. She looks concerned. She waits in the cold water waiting for him to calm down. RUDY holds his temple and faints. She climbs back on the boat. She pulls out her gadget and the solar charger. She tries charging it but notices that its cloudy and the sun isnt out. She opens her MacBook to see if she can find satellites but no luck there. We find a droplet of water on the screen. She looks up and a few drops hit her face. 00:35:30 RUDY wakes up confused about how he passed out all of a sudden. RUDY What happened to me? RUDY starts packing up his stuff again and realises the engine he spent heating up is now getting wet. He tries covering the engine with the rucksack. It doesnt help. The drizzle intensifies into the rain. 00:36:00 The sea has become more choppy as RUDY sits tight and BHAIRAVI stands at the nose of the boat. The boat hits a rock, she falls back into the boat and her rucksack (which is also a lifejacket) falls off the boat. He jumps in the water to retrieve it. He cant get to it, it moves further and further away. He cant see anything, she keeps calling for him. He gets back to the boat. She lends her hand and he comes back to the surface of the water still in shock and swims to the edge of the boat ignoring her hand. Unable to get up, he finally takes her hand. 00:37:00 As he puts all his weight on the boat, the boat flips and BHAIRAVI falls into the water too. As shes hit by a wave, he grabs her hand and puts his life jacket over her. They hold on to the boat and each other.

    A big wave hits them hard and topples their balance. Rough seas push them and the boat towards a lagoon as they spot a small strip of land in the middle. It looks like a mirage. As a giant wave claims the boat and their supplies, they need to make a call. RUDY Boat? Land? BHAIRAVI Land. RUDY But... Boat? He reaches for the boat to be slapped hard by a wave that sends him reeling underwater and he freezes. A hand reaches towards him. They both surface in the lagoon again and wade towards the sand bank with the boat drifting away from them. CUT TO 00:33:00 38 EXT.SANDBANK - DAY They lie back exhausted on the bank. And RUDY closes his eyes, covers his face with his arm as BHAIRAVI starts looking at the sea and begins to cry. RUDY Oh great! You are crying now! Really? BHAIRAVI My bag is gone. Everything in it. RUDY doesnt say anything. He cools himself down. He tries to console her. RUDY I am sorry. I dont know what happened... I have never hit a woman... As he appears confused, BHAIRAVI thoughtfully volunteers information. BHAIRAVI I have something to tell you. It happened to me as well. RUDY What? 38

    BHAIRAVI I strangled you that night. It happened so suddenly. Like I was possessed. Are we going crazy? RUDY cannot believe it. Hes shocked. RUDY Possessed. It wasnt there until last night BHAIRAVI I got this the night we landed. She shows him her rash which is much more severe. They take in a moment to realise that the world isnt the same as they knew it. CUT TO 39 INT.TENT - DAY 39

    They both crouch inside the tent. BHAIRAVIs cold gets worse. They both pop pills. RUDY lies back to sleep as BHAIRAVI goes out to see whats around. Theres nothing. The boat has drifted away and it seems to be getting dark. She looks at her watch. Its about 11.30 am. She opens up the MacBook and hits the satellite view. She calls ADITI. She speaks in English. Not Hindi. BHAIRAVI Where the fuck are we? ADITI Thats rude. Co ordinates currently unavailable. ADITI answers like a robot. BHAIRAVI Why dont I have access to the fucking Satellites?

The MacBook displays various focus on these when it stops rain/thunderstorm symbol and which we hear the voice over weather hazard symbols. We on the heavy dissolves into blue, over of the TV announcer. ZOOM OUT 00:35:30 40 INT.DEPARTURE AREA - DAY 40

    TV Announcer reading out the weather report: Clear blue skies are finally here after two months of thunderstorms and ceaseless rain. The temperatures are expected to rise to about 45 degrees Celsius, a 20 degree raise from last morning. Fades out as we follow people outside the waiting complex. As a bus waits, we see people say their goodbyes. BHAIRAVI I am going to miss you, didi. ADITI hugs her. ADITI At least you get to listen to my voice. Hey, (to RUDY), Take care of her. RUDY nods. FATHER shakes his hand, gives him a hug and a DUNIA salute. RUDY salutes back. BHAIRAVI hugs her father who kisses her forehead. BHAIRAVI See you soon, Pa. FATHER (winks with a tinge of sadness) Yeah, youll see me soon. FATHER just smiles as they get into the bus and we know we are seeing him for one last time as the bus leaves him behind. CUT TO

    29. 41 EXT./INT.BUS - DAY BHAIRAVI Dont worry. I am as scared as you are. RUDY Scared of what? BHAIRAVI smiles. 00:41:30 We see a shot of the bus on a long highway in the middle of nowhere. Some time has passed on the bus as BHAIRAVI puts her head on RUDYs shoulder. He sees the wind blowing her hair and he asks her. RUDY Can I kiss you? BHAIRAVI What...? (A beat) RUDY All the other matches are doing it, so I just thought... BHAIRAVI You can, but you may not. She turns her head the other way and continues sleeping, with a soft smile on her face. CUT TO 00:37:00 42 INT.TENT - DAY RUDY sleeping and BHAIRAVI looks at the watch. Its 3.30 and we see her take out the fruit she took from the previous island. She eats all the berries and half the apple. She decides to save the other half for him but changes her mind and finishes it off. RUDY wakes up. The rain is now more intense as he looks out. Hes still mad at her. He notices the apple core lying on the ground. RUDY Wheres MY apple? BHAIRAVI points towards his MacBook. He sees it and gets angrier. 42 41

    RUDY You ate them all? BHAIRAVI I found only one. Besides, I thought you said this is not food. RUDY walks away out of tent as a sign of protest in the rain. He comes back, pulls out the water bottle and lets it fill up. He goes to catch fish with his hands, because they lost the net in the storm, but they keep slipping out. He turns and glares at BHAIRAVI, then stops and stands in the water. He tries again rage. BHAIRAVI catches one in of victory. He BHAIRAVI. and again, all the time expressing vocal sees all this from the tent. He finally the rain, and lifts it up to sky as a sign shouts in excitement. He shows it to

    He cuts the fish and eats it raw as he is unable to create fire. He hates the taste and pops a pill. He finds her smiling, gets agitated. RUDY Why are you so happy? What do you think? Everything is chill and first class here? BHAIRAVI What do you mean? RUDY (uses props to demonstrate helmet as the globe and telepod for spaceship) This is the world and this was our ship. It caught fire when we entered the atmosphere at 600 kilometer per hour, which means that we would have crashed in less than six minutes. At the rate the fire was burning, we had thirty seconds before we would have all been roasted. Lucky for us, we were first in the queue. We dont even know if everyone made it. BHAIRAVI Be positive, man. Remember, we are supposed to stay positive. RUDY What positive? This is not MAYANAGARI ki Control, Alt, (MORE) (CONTINUED)

    RUDY (contd) Escape karke exit karen. This is the real thing. When we landed, there were only 18 dots, meaning 18 telepods. 18 survivors. BHAIRAVI Come on, the rest might not be in range. And our telepods arent even working properly. How do we even know that this isnt MAYANAGARI? RUDY Ejecting at a height of 100 kilometers means that we would have spread out over a 1000 kilometer radius, still within our range. BHAIRAVI Maybe their pods went out of juice. Our pods are down too. RUDY You dont understand. If we all ejected then we should have seen 72 dots because at the time of re entry all our pods were on. But after landing, only 18 were active, meaning everyone else... BHAIRAVI Why didnt you tell me this before? (brief pause) RUDY Now out of the remaining 9 couples, we saw the state Joseph and Katie were in. And everyone else, if they were alive, then they would have charged their pods by now. BHAIRAVI What are you saying? Our pods are solar powered. Who can charge their pods in this storm? RUDY Youre probably forgetting that until now we havent got satellite reception...the maps that were using now are 14 years old.     RUDY (contd) are we going to find the Motherstation? Its quite possible that only the both of us survived. And we have only half our supplies left. We wont last a week like this. BHAIRAVI Youre getting unnecessarily tense. Everythings fine. After the storm passes well get satellite reception. Water enters the tent. They jump out of the tent to find the sandbank almost submerged under the water. RUDY We should have stayed with the boat. He runs back to the tent to put everything into the rucksack. BHAIRAVI buckles up her suit again. BHAIRAVI You wanted the boat right? RUDY Are you crazy? BHAIRAVI storms off into the water. RUDY is showing symptoms of rage again. He clenches his fist, grinds his teeth. CUT TO 43 EXT.SEA - NIGHT 43

    BHAIRAVI swims towards where they last saw the boat. She looks underwater and the rain seems to intensify. Her cold seems to be getting worse... CUT TO 44 EXT.SANDBANK - NIGHT 44

    RUDY looks at the sky, no sun around but he gets an idea. He pulls out the drone and sends it up. Its wet, it does not start. He looks around, checks his bag, finds a book, sets it on fire with the fuel and places the solar charger next to it. He can see it working. He is tempted towards the Escape button as he hears the voice again.

    SHRINK V.O Control. Alt. Escape. RUDY just shakes his head like hes going crazy. He goes out to see BHAIRAVI, he doesnt find her. CUT TO 45 EXT.SEA - NIGHT BHAIRAVI is struggling with the waves, to stay afloat. Theres no sign of the boat for a while as it gets dark. She drowns as she hears the SHRINK. SHRINK V.O (softly) Unlock your mind. CUT TO 00:41:00 46 INT.CLINIC - DAY Over black screen. SHRINK The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. Joseph Campbell. Dive deeper, let go.     RUDY grabs the flare from his bag. He ties the pod to it with string setting it up like a rocket launch. He opens his Macbook and makes sure that the dot shows on his screen. Hits the sync button. He goes outside to light up the fuse of the flare and rushes in to the Macbook to hit Refresh. As the flare goes up, we intercut to Macbook and it says Searching for Satellite. The screen reads: 1 Satellite Found. He clicks on Satellite View, it appears for a second as he hits Grab screen. The satellite view disappears as the pod falls into the sea.

    BHAIRAVI enters the tent as RUDY is hunched over the laptop. Shes drenched and shivering. She walks into the tent to announce her arrival but he seems to be fixated on the Satellite View ignoring her. She looks at the map as we get our first view of the world as it stands now. A ball of water, with barely 15 per cent of land, bits of land scattered around. The map dissolves to a grainy static of another monitor, inside the spaceship. 49 INT.SPACESHIP - UNSPECIFIED TIME 49

    Grainy static followed by a frozen image of BHAIRAVIs Dad that slowly becomes dropped frame webcast with audio out of sync. BHAIRAVIs DAD is wearing a white DUNIA jumpsuit different from the ones they are wearing in the spaceship. The DUNIA logo forms the backdrop for his address to the crew. The Date of the transmission is: 20/12/2012, a day before the predicted end of the world date. (This date may be changed to coincide with the date of release of the film) DAD Namaste, my NAYI DUNIA-waalon, By the time you receive this transmission, our worst fears wouldve come true. We have just received information from ISRO that all efforts to destroy and divert the course of asteroid YAMARO have been in vain. (pause) Yamaro will collide with our planet in less than 22 hours wiping out the entire continent of Africa.     He goes to the boat and finds her shivering. She still seems angry. He offers her his extra shirt out of courtesy. She pulls him to the boat and cuddles up to him. And we cut to a long shot of the boat rocking softly as the sandbank is claimed by the water. SLOW DISSOLVE/FADE OUT

    The next morning, they wake up to a bright sun as Bhairavi opens her eyes and sees RUDY charging his pod and his MacBook. She gets out of the boat and sits next to him watching him work. RUDY Im going nuts. I almost hit Control. Alt. Escape on the pod. BHAIRAVI So? RUDY This is not MAYANAGARI. The problem isnt going to go away by hitting a few keys. BHAIRAVI (winks) Lets try it. RUDY Im a soldier. I never quit. This is a test. And Im not going to fail it. Why dont you press and see what happens? BHAIRAVI Doesnt matter what happens. Its artificial intelligence anyway. Freedom is artificial too, not real. Assuming we are in MAYANAGARI, theres no real escape from it. RUDY Sometimes you remind me of her. BHAIRAVI Who? RUDY Her.     He looks at her and gives her the pod thats still wet. RUDY It doesnt work. But Ill fix it in a couple of days. BHAIRAVI Thanks. RUDY The boats still not fixed. We have to head 200 km north, but the current is headed south. Without an engine we cant leave. BHAIRAVI Whats the problem with the engine? RUDY Ive fixed it, but I dont know whats wrong. BHAIRAVI Can I take a look? RUDY (sarcastically) Sure. She looks at the engine, sees it has been dried by now. No sign of moisture. She examines the propeller. BHAIRAVI Toh you are sure the engine is fine? RUDY Its an internal combustion engine, not rocket science. It starts and then sputters off. If the fuel isnt right, the engine could cease. Maybe its a limitation of organic biofuel... BHAIRAVI picks up the can, looks at the contents and chemicals. BHAIRAVI Ill be back in half an hour. She looks around for something she can use as a container. She grabs his vest and swims away. RUDY goes back to fix the engine, looking confused in her direction. Hes gone over it again. The connections are right. He gives up for a bit and opens his MacBook and asks Mama.

    RUDY: Does organic biofuel power an internal combustion engine of a motorboat? CUT TO 00:46:00 Cut to a wide that establishes where they are - BHAIRAVI in the sea and Rudy on the boat on the sandbank. BHAIRAVI is back with a leaky bundle in the vest. She drains off the water by squeezing the bundle, slices off one of their water bottles into half and puts the green gooey stuff from the bundle into it. She heats up the algae and makes a funnel out of the other half of the bottle. She has distilled her potion using the filter and mixes it with a little fuel from the container. She goes gets a little salt water and uses the water distiller to purify the water. She mixes equal parts of water, fuel and algae, shakes it up and heats it up again. RUDY looks on condescendingly. RUDY You are wasting fuel making what? Whats this? Witchcraft? BHAIRAVI Well know in four hours. He lifts up his watch. It moves from 10:20 to 2:20. CUT TO 00:47:00 RUDY walks around restlessly watching BHAIRAVI heats up some seaweed and lets it blend with the fuel. RUDY gives up and goes to sit by the shore. BHAIRAVI spots him sit alone. She walks to him BHAIRAVI Back home, I used to get so annoyed and irritated at people staring at me. Hello, my eyes are up here. Oh look, a girl... When was the last time we saw a girl? And now, I can actually walk around naked and theres nobody to care. RUDY I do BHAIRAVI You do? But seriously, why do men stare?

    RUDY watches her do her stuff. She pours the test fuel into the tank. And asks him to start. RUDY tries. It starts and sputters out. RUDY is now excited. This may just work. RUDY Leave the rest to me. I think I just need to tune the engine a little. RUDY begins to tweak the screws and he starts the motor again. A satisfying sound emits. 00:49:00 CUT TO 53 EXT.SANDBANK - DAY Cut to wide as we both of them jump and hug each other. MUSICAL MONTAGE begins: They swim together, get more seaweed, collect it. They bring about six kilograms of seaweed on to the sandbank and lay it out to dry. BHAIRAVI distills water while RUDY squeezes out the moisture from the seaweed. BHAIRAVI, now having distilled a considerable quantity of water, heats up the squeezed seaweed in the makeshift stove. RUDY funnels the heated sea weed and dilutes it with distilled water and mixes the solution with the concentrated fuel. BHAIRAVI shakes the bio fuel in the container and lets it set. CUT TO RUDY fills up the motorboat engine while BHAIRAVI packs up their stuff against the fading light. They set sail from the sand bank, as it is getting submerged. 00:50:00 CUT TO 54 EXT.SEA - NIGHT 54 53

    We see RUDY navigating the boat as BHAIRAVI enjoys the sea breeze, drifting off to sleep slowly, coughing from time to time. We see RUDY in the same position while BHAIRAVI is sleeping. Halfway into the night, she wakes up to (CONTINUED)

CUT TO 55 EXT.SEA - DAY BHAIRAVI sits on the edge of the boat running her hand through the clear water. RUDY wakes up and does his morning prayer. RUDY checks his watch and the silhouettes in the boat suggest hes pensive while shes taking pictures from the Telepod capturing different moods of the sky and RUDY. She gives him the pod to take a picture of her and poses for it. He takes one and returns, she gives it back to him for one more and before we know it... hes been made to take pictures of her. On the horizon, we see a small strip of the mainland. BHAIRAVI sees this and tells RUDY to take one more picture, and jumps into the sea. The boat continues to the shore, and BHAIRAVI follows it, enjoying the sunlight and water. 00:51:00 56 EXT.BEACH - DAY BIG BLOCK BLACK LETTERS ON SAND: CIVILIZATION A wave washes it away. RUDY slows down the boat and he docks at the shore. He turns around and BHAIRAVI is swimming towards him. He gets off and takes their stuff. He takes out his Telepod and checks the radiation on the shore. It emits a high beep indicating small traces of radioactive contamination. He finds a battered sign on the beach and they walk in the direction of civilization. They find the ruins of a resort further inland/caves (depending on availability of location) and leave their stuff. They make camp and RUDY goes to fish as BHAIRAVI walks around the shore exploring it for fruits. 00:52:00 56 55

    INT.CAVE - DAY As they both settle down in the cave, they check the fruits that BHAIRAVI has picked for radiation. The Pod indicates that they are contaminated. BHAIRAVI Im not sure if this is the right direction to go, going by this trace of radiation RUDY What did you expect? BHAIRAVI We cant eat this, well fall sick. RUDY We have no choice. Our pills are out. Better to be sick than dead. BHAIRAVI Whats the point of being alive when youre sick? Survival is not life. RUDY Ill settle. BHAIRAVI What? RUDY What do you think we rather do? BHAIRAVI Umm... maybe just going back to where its healthy. We have a better shot of being happy there in the wild. RUDY What do you mean happy? We are not on Mission Happiness. The map doesnt show any dots. RUDY Its beeping, but not showing anything. He hits Refresh again. Still nothing. BHAIRAVI May I... RUDY (overlapping) Wait! He presses different buttons, trying to stop it from hanging. He hits the side of the screen roughly. BHAIRAVI Youre going to damage it. RUDY Can you wait?!! He frantically tries again. It still seems stuck. BHAIRAVI Um... RUDY (relenting) Okay, here. He gives the MacBook to her. She does a hard boot. He cant believe she just did that. RUDY (hysterical) What...you pressed, how could... BHAIRAVI (smiles) Relax...

    It starts up again and she opens Maps and Zooms Out of the current view. The map shrinks to show dots appearing on 5 different points. BHAIRAVI They made it!!! RUDY refreshes the page to make sure theyre real. BHAIRAVI They made it, right? Its not anything else...? RUDY It just means the pods are active. Lets leave soon. BHAIRAVI Where? RUDY Mother Station, where else? BHAIRAVI (thinks for a while) But...why? If we want to start our lives, we can do it there. RUDY (struck with disbelief) We came all the way for this? You forgot this? You attacked me because of this! We dont even know if its poisonous. What if it happens again? BHAIRAVI Just kiss me the next time it happens. Thats what I did when I sensed we were about to get mad at each other last night. RUDY What if you are wrong? BHAIRAVI Its possible that I am wrong but I didnt come all this way to die. He gets up, takes the toolbox from his rucksack and goes to the shore. CUT TO 00:54:30 MONTAGE: RUDY tries to fix the pod BHAIRAVI starts gathering things that she needs to survive on her own. She tries finding uncontaminated fruit, but doesnt succeed. She then starts to make more of the seaweed fuel on her own, with the rest on the concentrated fuel. He checks his MacBook from time to time and sees that all the dots have moved closer, presumably to the Mother Station. CUT TO 00:56:00 58 INT. CAVE - DAY RUDY comes back to their camp to see BHAIRAVI making the fuel. RUDY You know you cant keep doing this. Its going to run out sooner or later. 58

    Soon, it becomes evening on the mainland. BHAIRAVI is on the bay. She seems to be almost done with packing her things, and shes made enough fuel. RUDY comes back. Hes simmered down. He gives her back her pod. RUDY Im sorry, I cant fix it. She takes it, then he unhooks his pod from his belt and hands it to her. RUDY Take mine. BHAIRAVI Thats okay. Ive got my music. Keep yours. 00:62:00 He hooks his pod back. She looks up at him as he starts narrating a story. (CONTINUED)

    CONTINUED: RUDY There were 24 of us left when the sergeant was shot. Bullets flying all around. I went up to him to see if he wanted us to retreat or charge. He didnt say a word.     5. B cozy in bed 6. R & B are a couple on honeymoon but we see them in traditional Indian bridal wear. She with her mehendi and him in his dhoti and kurta about to have sex on the first night. B is still dancing while RUDY is in a trance thats broken by a whisper from the Telepod: Essscape. As RUDY snaps out of his trance, he finds RUDY staring at him with a creepy smile. RUDY 2 runs as RUDY follows him into the forest. 00:66:30 63 EXT.FOREST - NIGHT A creepy whisper. RUDY2 Escape. RUDY is looking psyched and confused. RUDY2 repeats the whisper with increasing intensity. RUDY2 Control. Alt. Escape. Alt. Escape. Control. Escape. Control. Alt. Control. Alt. Escape. Alt. Escape. Control. Alt. Escape. Control. 63

    RUDY (angrily screaming) Dont tell me what I should do. (beat) You dont control me. I do. The RUDYs charge toward each other and slam into one another. RUDY2 slams RUDY into the ground and starts punching him repeatedly in the face. RUDY uses his legs to roll over RUDY2 and tries to get him into a lock before RUDY2 pushes him off. They face each other off, looking for an entry point. RUDY picks up a tree branch and swings at RUDY2. RUDY2 dodges and kicks RUDY. RUDY2 grabs the tree branch and throws it. RUDY picks RUDY2 up and smashes him headfirst on the ground. Then RUDY2 rolls the other way, they face each other, and take out their guns. He empties the gun over black. CUT TO 00:68:00

    59. 64 INT. CAVE - NIGHT POV:BHAIRAVI BHAIRAVI opens her eyes to find RUDY bring a pillow over her face. He suffocates her, she struggles to get scot free but hes physically stronger than her. As she struggles for breath, and we find her feet shake violently, she sees her whole life flicker past her eyes. Her eyes close to black. Electronic disturbance. Audio loop: System failure. Control. Alt. Del. Control. Alt. Del.... RUDY wakes up with a jolt next to her and goes to the forest stretch (the location where one RUDY attacked another) and shines a torch to look for the other RUDY. He cannot find him. No sign. He takes out his gun and sees the chamber to find all the bullets in tact. CUT TO He returns to find BHAIRAVI still unconscious. He stares at the sky for a while, then checks to see if BHAIRAVI is really sleeping. He thinks she is, and he turns over on his side and plants a soft kiss on her cheek. She opens her eyes and kisses him back. RUDY is a little surprised but continues till she makes him lie down. She gets on top, removes his buttons and kisses his chest. She takes her jumpsuit off, revealing the vest underneath and guides his hand to her neck. She then continues to kiss him gently all the way down his chest and unbuttons his pants. Shes totally in control and RUDY is finally letting her take charge. RUDY finally gives in and kisses back but gently this time. We see silhouette of her taking her vest off. We then cut to a close-up of just their faces as they kiss tenderly and make love. We see him kiss her cheeks at the end. None of that awkwardness or aggression we saw from their first night together. CROSS FADE 00:73:00 As they lie next to each other, RUDY does not know what to say. She cuddles up to him.     BHAIRAVI This is happiness to me. RUDY is lying close to her chest like a baby. She looks like his mother as she runs her hand through his hair. RUDY starts humming. She listens, slowly drifting off to sleep. HUMMING MONTAGE BEGINS CROSS FADE 65 EXT.BEACH - DAY 65

    Over the audio of his humming, we see him walk along the beach, pick up shells. He puts a string around a couple of shells and examines the pendant hes made for her. CUT TO 00:74:00 66 INT. CAVE - MORNING We follow RUDY back to the cave and he looks at BHAIRAVI sleeping, the pendant in his hand. As she wakes up, he quickly he puts it in his pocket. Bhairavi looks at Rudy awake BHAIRAVI Youre not following the timetable today? RUDY nods. CUT TO 00:76:00 67 EXT.BEACH- DAY 67 66

    From here, the following scenes have the surrealistic feel of a painting: vanilla skies, perfect water, and heightened features of both the landscape and the people. They pop pills, pack her stuff and load the fuel. HUMMING MONTAGE ENDS RUDY offers her his Telepod.

    RUDY You might need this. BHAIRAVI (smiles) No. Keep it. You know where to find me should you change your mind. They hug. And theres awkward silence. RUDY Umm... Im sorry about last night BHAIRAVI (holds his hand) It wasnt wrong. RUDY What do you mean? BHAIRAVI Maybe I wanted to be a mother after all. RUDY is not sure how to react again. RUDY You know where to find me if it... you know, needs to be done again. (beat) Also, you know... there is infinite life all around us. The rich mysteries of the world are... sometimes as insignificant as what you really want, what your heart beats for... (beat) What Im trying to say is... Just because you dont see it, does not mean it doesnt exist. She smiles as she gets into the boat as he pushes it into the water and she starts it. We stay with RUDY as the boat leaves. He is reminded of some of the moments from the trip: him taking photos of her, her dunking him in the water, her explaining the fuel formula to him, and their kiss... All this brings a half smile to RUDYs face, finally. We see him almost smile for the first time in the whole film. We see BHAIRAVI looking back once, her face filled with tears as well.

    RUDY stays on the shore, waving to BHAIRAVI on the horizon. And then we cant see her. RUDY takes the pendant out of his pocket and looks at it as he feels his shirt turn red. Drops of blood hit the sand and the pendant. Hes bleeding, he opens the buttons. There are six bullet wounds on his chest. He feels the blood against his hands. He falls down, looks for his gun, opens the chamber and finds all the bullets missing. As he waits for his death, he has a visitor. Its RUDY 2 who gives him a smile and then turns and runs towards the sea. He jumps and swims with a great sense of urgency. RUDY follows him but collapses in the water. He becomes the corpse that he saw earlier in the film. CUT TO 68 EXT. GARDEN OF MOTHER STATION - DAY RUDY finds himself lying on the grass eyes closed as his wounds disappear and he gets up and walks towards something. Its the majestic sight of the golden dome of the MOTHER STATION looking very surreal. As he walks towards the light and into the door... 69 INT. CLINIC - DAY 69 68

    RUDY walks in to a man with his back sitting on a chair. He treads cautiously to see who that is and realises its the SHRINK. The SHRINK looks at him and smiles. SHRINK Take a seat. Make yourself comfortable... RUDY takes a seat on the couch hesitantly. SHRINK Finally, we meet. RUDY I dont understand. SHRINK I am the guy youve been avoiding. Im sure youve heard a lot about me from... RUDY Youre the shrink? SHRINK (smiles) Yes. Some people call me that.

    RUDY Have I lost it? Am I going crazy? SHRINK No. You were in denial. Now, youve set yourself free. You faced your fears. RUDY So am I dead? SHRINK Youre more alive than youve ever been. Cant you feel it? RUDY What is this place? SHRINK Home. RUDY No, I mean seriously what is this place? SHRINK This is the in-between, where one adventure ends and another begins. Think of it as a movie theatre. Or a temple. Your place of calm. The place you come to turn your mind off from the world. Your source of escape. RUDY But I dont understand this movie. SHRINK Theres nothing to understand except that there is nothing you cant ever do. This is a world of infinite possibilities. RUDY Will I get to see her again? SHRINK Do you want to? RUDY I just want to go back. SHRINK There is no back. Only forward.

    RUDY What if I dont want to? SHRINK Conflict is inevitable. Conflict is progress. Conflict is what gives you purpose. Once youve overcome one, you crave for a new one and dont even know it. You have desires and you have fears keeping you away from them. First step towards getting what you want is getting rid of what you fear. RUDY This is a MAYANAGARI simulation! I am dreaming. SHRINK Why dont you pinch yourself and find out? It was something that was a part of your training to help you evolve. At first, you fought external enemies... And after endless simulations, it was just a matter of time before the conflicts became internal and you realised that the only enemy that you needed to fight was yourself. You are the only person who stops you from getting what you want. RUDY What do I want? SHRINK You know what you want. RUDY What should I do now? SHRINK You soldier on. RUDY (opens up his sleeve) Will I remember this? SHRINK If you want to. The SHRINK gives him a shot of DRESEMURA-1 and the screen fades to white.

    INT.BOAT - NIGHT BHAIRAVI hears noise and turns her flashlight on. Its RUDY. She hugs him and they kiss. RUDY You were coming back for me? BHAIRAVI I had a nightmare. RUDY Whats new? BHAIRAVI I... I just... I just... You died in it. She hugs him again. RUDY Both of us have new fears now. BHAIRAVI Why? What was yours? RUDY Losing you forever. BHAIRAVI continues hugging him tight as she suddenly wonders if theres something wrong. BHAIRAVI This doesnt feel right. RUDY What? Why? BHAIRAVI Too much co-incidence for it to be real! RUDY I told you it was destiny! BHAIRAVI Dont you want to go home anymore? RUDY I am home.

    They embrace again and kiss and it looks too much like a movie ending when BHAIRAVI realises it is just too dreamy.

BHAIRAVI takes the pendant, gives him a hug. Hes happy as she looks worriedly at the pod that has started to beep. RUDY catches her worried and turns the pod off.
