The role and navigation bar customizing controls how the navigation bar is structured and which links appear on the work center / home / report pages and in the direct link groups.
The Business Role
The Business Role is the central object for controlling the navigation bar. W ork centers, direct link groups and logical links can be set to visible.

User assignment
The business role is assigned to an organizational unit in the organizational model. The user is assigned to an organizational unit as w ell .

Navigation bar profile


The navigation bar profile contains direct link groups and work centers. Logical links are assigned to the direct link groups. W ork center link groups structure the logical links for work centers. These work center link groups aren't visible in the application.

PFCG Role and A uthorization C oncept

Authorizations are always determined from the authorization profiles assigned to a user. For each Business Role SAP delivers a PFCG role that contains the sufficient authorization objects. If the delivered PFCG roles arent sufficient, because your own Business Roles contain different applications / business objects, several functions are provided to create easily authorization roles / profiles and assign them to the users Step 1: An own Business Role has been created. Additionally you have created a PFCG role and assigned it to the Business Role Step 2: Use Trace to determine all necessary authorization objects for your Business Role: The trace to determine all authorization objects can be switched on. More information on this trace can be found in SAP notes 551478 and 449832.Check trace: In SU22 the trace is visible -> Choose External Service and UIU_COMP. Default values can be maintained in SU24, if the default values delivered by SAP dont fit your needs tep 3: Use report CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE and transaction PFCG to assign all required authorizations to the related PFCG role. Step 4: Use PFCG to define the authorization values and to generate the authorization profiles. Step 5: Use report CRMD_UI_ROLE_ASSIGN to make the user assignment easier: This report determines the Business Roles a user is assigned to. Based on the Business Role the PFCG Profiles are determined and assigned. If necessary add some special authorizations manually to your users (SU01).

You can assign function profiles to business roles. Example: Function Profile: P E R S O N A L IZ A T IO N You can use this function profile to define the level of personalization that is available for the user in the C R M WebClient UI. You can assign this function profile to every business role and use one of the following predefined profile values: ALL_ENABLED This means that the central personalization page and all personalization icons in the work area are enabled. A L L _ D IS A B L E D This means that the central personalization page and all personalization icons in the work area are disabled. PP_ENABLED This means that the central personalization page is enabled, but all personalization icons in the work area are disabled. W A_ENABLED This means that the central personalization page is disabled, but all personalization icons in the work area are enabled. In the standard system, this function profile is not assigned to any business role. This means that all personalization options are available. This is equivalent to the profile value ALL_ENABLED.

Prerequisite is that the links are rendered with the component CRMCMP_GS_W C view Group Links. Use and configuration


The transaction Launcher can be used to launch URLs.
To launch an URL the URL has to be defined in the URL repository first. View: CRM V_IC_LTX_URL

The transaction Launcher can be used to launch BSPs / BOR transactions from other systems.
To launch a GUI transaction a BOR object type with a method EXECUTE, that supports synchronous calls is required. A mapping of the logical systems is required: Transaction: C RM S_IC_CRO SS_SYS Logical Links based on the Transaction Launcher ID can be created and integrated into the Navigation Bar.
