The Problem (all have sinned)

There are 2 categories of sin:

1/ Sins of Commission
to carry into action deliberately:
perpetrate <commit a crime>

Pride is excessive belief in one's

own abilities, that interferes
with the individual's recognition
of the grace of God. It has been
called the sin from which all
others arise. Pride is also known
as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others'

traits, status, abilities, or
situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire

to consume more than that which
one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for

the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the

individual who spurns love and
opts instead for fury. It is also
known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material

wealth or gain, ignoring the realm
of the spiritual. It is also
called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical

or spiritual work.

Exodus 20 ...
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no
other gods before me.
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make
unto thee any graven image, or any

adultery.

false witness against thy
neighbour.
Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet
thy neighbour's house, thou shalt
not covet thy neighbour's wife,
nor his manservant, nor his
maidservant, nor his ox, nor his
ass, nor any thing that is thy
neighbour's.

we make him a liar, and his word
is not in us.
2/ Sins of Omission
a :something neglected or left
undone
b :apathy toward or neglect of
duty
James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to
do good, and doeth it not, to him
it is sin.
The Solution
1John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he
is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
cleanseth us from all sin.
The Result
III The Temple - atonement through
the faith in his [Jesus] blood
Unlike atonement through:
a [High] Priest
*OR*
a Levitical grain/burnt/sin/guilt
(trespass)/peace/wave/heave
offering - refer Leviticus 16 for
sacrificial offerings and the role
of the scapegoat
