Economics is the most vibrant of all social sciences in modern history. Learning Economics has always been most fascinating for brilliant students. Its academic challenges are the envy of most other sciences. In this program a conscious emphasis is given in teaching applied economics courses to help our graduates meet the challenges of designing and evaluating policies. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION Students seeking admission in the MSS in economics program must meet the following criteria: 1. Have a bachelor degree in Economics or have completed the following undergraduate courses from a reputed university: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics for Economists, Econometrics, International Economics, Money and Banking and Development Economics. 2. Must pass the university admission test.
DEGREE REQUIREMENT (a) A minimum CGPA of 2.50 (b) Completion of 27 credits (39 credits with out BSS in Economics Degree) COURSE /CREDIT REQUIREMENTS AND PROGRAM DURATION MSS in Economics is a 27 (39 with out BSS in Economics Degree) credit program. Ideally it should take one year to complete the course requirements. For those students who dont have BSS in Economics but have completed the required undergraduate courses from a reputed university, will have to complete 12 extra credits in an additional one semester. COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAM There are three/four components of the program: Core Course (4 x 3 = 12 credits) Elective Economics Courses (4 x 3 = 12 credits) Extra Elective Economics Courses (4 x 3 = 12 credits) (Without BSS in Economics) Research Paper (1 x 3= 3 credits)
