JANUARY AND FEBRUARY PROGRAMS Balancing Your Body Chemistry will be presented in two parts by Dr. Diane Kamen. Part 1 will address challenges lupus adds to maintaining basic health; Part 2 focuses somewhat more specifically on potential body changes caused by lupus, managing medications, and the importance of monitoring labs. Dr. Diane Kamen is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at MUSC. She completed her undergraduate training at Northwestern University. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, then completed her Internal Medicine residency & a 3-year rheumatology fellowship at MUSC. In 2004, she completed a two-year Master of Science in Clinical Research program, funded through an NIH Award. She joined the faculty in July 2005. Dr. Kamens clinical and research interests remain focused on SLE and she is an active member of the M.U.S.C.L.E. Research Group.

At the 5th stoplight, bear slightly right onto Whilden Street - this is before you get to the Scotchman station. Then take the second full right onto Live Oak Drive. Immediately on the left is the MPPC Fellowship Hall parking lot. From I-526: Follow 526 East, & continue onto the 526 spur until it ends, becoming Chuck Dawley Boulevard. Stay in the right lane, continuing as this merges, as a slight right turn, onto Coleman Boulevard. After the 2nd stoplight (Simmons St.) take the 2nd left onto Live Oak Drive, just beyond the Scotchman station. At the top of the exit ramp, make a left onto Ashley Phosphate Road and proceed to the far right lane and over the overpass. Take a right at the light onto Northside Drive. The Hampton Inn will be on the right. From I-26 East (towards Charleston), take Exit 209-A. At the top of the exit ramp make a right onto Ashley Phosphate Road. Turn right at the next traffic light onto Northside Drive. The Hampton Inn will be on the right.
