LOCAL LEADERS ENDORSE ALYSSA KNOBEL FOR HIGHLAND PARK CITY COUNCIL Fifteen-year Highland Park resident, City

Commissioner and community volunteer Alyssa Knobel officially kicked off her campaign for Highland Park City Council with endorsements from a wide range of local leaders. Knobel received the endorsement of Mayor Nancy Rotering and Highland Park City Council members Blumberg, Frank and Naftzger. Alyssa takes a comprehensive approach to problem-solving and has an extensive working knowledge of city matters. Driven by a desire to serve her community and to help as many people as she can, I know she will serve our city well as a member of the Highland Park City Council, stated Mayor Nancy Rotering. She also earned the early endorsement of State Senator Susan Garrett, State Representative Karen May and newly elected Lake County Board Member Steve Mandel. Knobel also boasts endorsements from former Mayors Ray Geraci and Dan Pierce, former Lake County Board Members Anne Flanigan Bassi and Carol Spielman, former State Representative Lauren Beth Gash as well as numerous appointed commissioners and sister government elected officials. I have worked with Alyssa and always felt confident that if Alyssa was part of the team, whatever the project or issue may be, it will be well managed. She gets fully engaged and knows how to work with the right people to find a solution. She has what it takes to serve and represent the people of Highland Park, commented Susan Garrett. According to Knobel, the decision to run for Highland Park City Council is a culmination of her work in city government and as a community volunteer, coupled with input and encouragement from neighbors, colleagues and community leaders. I greatly appreciate the strong support I have received, said Knobel. These endorsements reflect confidence in my comprehensive knowledge of our government, business experience, positive working relationships with our Mayor, Council and staff and commitment to serving our residents. About Alyssa Knobel Knobel serves in a volunteer capacity as the Chair of the City of Highland Park Business & Economic Development Commission (BEDC) and Board Member of the Highland Park Downtown Business Alliance, Member of the Ravinia Business District Advisory Committee and Breirgate Business Alliance District (BBAD). She is a Board Member of the Highland Park Historical Society and a Planning Committee Member of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for Political Affairs. Recently she served on the Greentown Highland Park Advisory Committee. She has served on several not-for-profit boards that provide services to children and families, including the Executive Board for the Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS). She was a PTA legislative liaison and an NSSD 112 Curriculum Committee Member. She is a long-standing, active member of the League of Women Voters of Highland Park/Highwood. Knobel began her business career in advertising. In recent years, she served as an aide for State Representative Karen May and managed her marketing consultancy with private business, government and not-for-profit agency clients. She holds a B.S. in Communication from Boston University. She resides in Highland Park with her husband, Jeremy and 2 children.
