Employment within India: (17 years)


From April - 1998 to June 2001
Manager with M/s Adani Port Ltd (APL) a subsidiary of M/s Adani Exports Ltd, No. 1 Super Star Trading
House in India. APL is Developer and sole terminal operator of Private Port at Navinal Island, Mundra,
India. The Port development Project was First in Private Sector in India.
The Port Project involved Dredging, Jetty Construction, Petroleum storage terminal of capacity 2.65 lac KL,
Delivery Terminals, Storage godowns, Open storages, 24” Pipelines from Jetty to terminals, Railway line,
Bulk Conveyor System, Container Terminal, Housing township, Electrification, Instrumentation, Roads,
drainage, Water and other Utilities,.
I was mainly responsible for coordination, monitoring and review of various activities Project
Management and Controls during stages of Pre Contracts and Post Contracts; and periodical review
of activities relating to Quality, Safety, Security and Environmental Protection.
When I joined the Project, it was in board room stage and just taken up with Govt clearances. During my
tenure, the Port was fully operational in a record time of about 4 years and within the budgeted cost.
April 1996 to April 1998:
Cost Accountant in Practice,
Worked as Project Consultant for M/s Adani Port Ltd & established system for Management Control
of their Port Project – mainly for Billing, Budget & cost Control. Also, I conducted statutory Cost Audit
of large units of Textile & Cement production.
August 1995 to March 1996:
Cost Engineer with M/s Toyo Engineering Corporation, Japan at Mangalore Refinery Project – a
Greenfield Refinery Project of capacity 3 MMTPA costing US $ 1 Bn. For which M/s Toyo were the
Overall Project management Consultant.
Worked as part of Project Cost Control Group and responsible for MIS & Cost Information reports
November 1985 to August 1995:
Assistant Engineer with M/s Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation – a Govt. of Gujarat
Undertaking for development of Industrial Estates within the state of Gujarat.
The assignments handled:
 There were about 160 industrial estates of varying sizes and at various developmental stages
spread across Gujarat State.
 Site in-charge for execution of Infrastructure and Developmental works of Industrial estates viz.
Networks of Roads, Water, Power, Underground Drainage, Factory Sheds, and Housing quarters
