The Paralympic Sport Club is for youth and adults with physical and visual impairments. If you are interested in participating in sled hockey, contact Jana.McMullen@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov for additional details. Dont miss the opportunity to watch the US National and Development Sled Hockey Teams play at Extreme Ice Center in January- details will posted on the new Paralympic Facebook Page. Adaptive Fencing
for teens and young adults, ages 13-35, with disabilities The Charlotte Fencing Center, 5410B Old Pineville Road February 16 - March 9, 2013 (Saturdays) 11:00am 12:00pm $40.00 Includes use of all equipment needed Stacey.Thomas@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Fencing is beneficial to our health as it offers participants a physical and mental workout. Referred to as physical chess, fencing improves dexterity, endurance and discipline. Participants will develop a sense of self-worth as individuals and team players as they learn basic moves and skills.

The Pep Squad provides an opportunity for teens During this school day out, children will play and young adults to participate in cheerleading and be a part of a team, all while having fun with games, make crafts, and engage in physical friends! activities! All of these activities are used to promote peer interaction and appropriate social skills, physical activity, and independence.

Do you love to read? Want to meet new people? Beyond the Book will allow individuals an opportunity to gain a new leisure skill or enhance their current leisure interest of reading, while meeting new people in the community in a casual setting. With input from the group we will pick an appropriate book to read followed by a group discussion. We will relate topics from the book to life, relationships, values and other topics of interest to you.

Come hang out with "Band of Brothers" every Tuesday night from 6-8pm.
