INTRODUCTION

This measurement schedule has been developed to be used as a tool to facilitate QS staff in taking off quantities of excavation, concrete, reinforcement and formwork in foundation and RC structure

BENEFITS Easy to use Speed in taking off User friendly guides to assist Only by inserting dimensions (nos, length, width & height) quantites such as excavation, concrete work, blinding and formwork are automatically calculated Schedules given assist the user in taking off in a systematic manner

FOUNDATIONS / FOOTINGS / PILE CAPS/ COLUMN BASES SCHEDULE

User guides (to be read together with the schedule below) A. Dimensions to be keyed in - white columns
1. Foundation/base type
- Key in type of foundations - eg. P1, P2 (refer to foundation layout plan) - Pit foundations, if their length exceed four times their width, it shall be considered as trench, separate from pit foundations

B. Dimensions automatically calculated - blue columns

1. Total Depth
- Total depth for excavation - Formula : Height/thickness of foundation (H) + Thickness of blinding + Height of column stump

2. Nos. Off
- Key in numbers of each type of foundation (calculated from foundation layout plan)

2. Maximum Depth of Excavation (to be mentioned in description) SMM2-D.10

- Depth Of Excavation shall be classified as follows:

3. Dimension
- L for length in Meter (Refer to detail drawing for each type of foundation - always take horizontal dimension as length) - W for width in Meter ( Ditto - always take vertical dimension as width) - H for height or thickness of the foundation in Meter (Refer to detail drawing for each type of foundations)

Maximum depth not exceeding 0.25m Maximum depth not exceeding 1.00m Maximum depth not exceeding 2.00m Maximum depth not exceeding 4.00m thereafter in 2.00m stages

} } automatic selection } } } to be keyed-in

4. Blinding - Key in thickness of concrete blinding in Meter 5. Column Stump Height

- Measured from top of foundation to top of ground slab in Meter

3. Excavating pits having both plan dimensions (length & width) less than 1.25m (SMM2-D.12.6)
If any of this pits excvn falls under this category, its will be calculated automatically and separated from the others Formula for quantity: Length (L) x Width (W) x Total Depth - unit M3

4. Excavating pits
Formula for quantity: Length (L) x Width (W) x Total Depth - unit M3 Nos - need to be stated in description

6. Water Table - If there is, key in, in Meter. Check with the designer especially for areas where water table is high. - If none , key in ' 0 ' or leave it blank

5. Excavating trench
The foundation will consider as strip footing/foundation Formula refer to item 4

6. E.O excavating below ground water level

If Water Table Height (item A/6) keyed in, this item will be calculated Formula for quantity: Length (L) x Width (W) x (Total Depth - water table) - unit M3 Pit and trench foundations will be combined under one item

7. Concrete in pit & trench

Formula: Length (L) x Width (W) x Height/Thick (H) - unit M3

8. Concrete blinding
Formula: Length (L) x Width (W) x Blinding Thickness - unit M3

9. Formwork to sides of pit/trench foundations

If Height/Thick (H) exceeding 1M measure in Square meters (M2) Formula: Girth {Length(L)x2 + width(W)x2} x Height(H) If Height/Thick (H) not exceeding 1M measure in meters (M) stating the height in categories: Not Exceeding 250mm high 250mm - 500mm high 500mm - 1.00m high
