Basic Overview:The HPV vaccine is a highly debated topic. It helps protect against cancers and other diseases that occur from sexual activity but some people believe it is dangerous to the body as a long-term effect.

Is there a shot for boys? What is it called? Yes, it is called Gardasil.

Does this promote promiscuity or should we take advantage of something that could potentially help us? Yes because they feel more assured that nothing will happen so they take advantage of the vaccine although it does not fully protect against diseases and cancers.

Basic Overview: You have to be 17 or older to get it over the counter but if you are under 17 you can get a prescription for it. It changes the hormone levels so the egg cannot become fertilized.

Intended Use (Why people use it): People use it as a backup plan to birth control and condoms.

How close to failed / no contraceptives: (Time Frame?) You have to take it within 72 hours of unprotected sex otherwise it will be non-effective.

Mechanism of action-how it works: Plan B changes the hormone levels in the women so the egg cannot become fertilized. The negative side to this is more often than not the person consuming the pill will become sick.

Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide an alternative to someone not wanting to get pregnant? I believe Plan B provides an alternative to someone not wanting to get pregnant as opposed to promoting not taking accountability for peoples choices because I think that Plan B is used more as an alternative and last resort more than a primary choice.

Basic Overview: Condom availability is a highly debated topic. Some believe that condoms should be actively promoted to help prevent sexual diseases and some believe the opposite, and that it is going against the morals of their religious beliefs.

In your opinion do these statistics warrant public educations involvement? I believe they do because public education needs to inform students about the severity of teen pregnancy and inform them on the many statistics that are attributed with teenage pregnancies.

What does a schools condom availability program look like? Who gets condoms, where, when and how? Condom availability programs are more common than people may think. A student can get them from teachers, principals, vending machines, baskets, counselors, and other school personnel just by simply asking.

So the big question is how would condom availability affect the student body? Does it promote unhealthy behavior or are you providing a healthy outlet for those that will do it anywaysif so is it even a schools place to get involved ? Condom availability

does not necessarily affect the student body because studies apparently show that it does not promote sexual activity. A study in New York schools that have the condom availability program found an increase in condom usage but not an increase in sexual activity.
