2013 Administration Preparation Course

Phase I Application and Interview

Submit a complete application. Upon review, the Academic Director will contact the applicant for an interview appointment. Application Deadlines Rolling Admissions for the Administration Preparation Course
Model Model I Administrators Credential (with Montessori Specialization)*
*Requires selection of a teacher education program to audit

For A school administrator who seeks knowledge and skills in the Montessori Philosophy, Pedagogy and Curriculum. Montessori credentialed teacher who seeks knowledge and skills in school leadership and administration. An individual who seeks Montessori teacher certification as well as the Administrators credential.

Background A Bachelors degree and evidence of school administration expertise and experience is required. A Bachelors degree and Montessori credential from a MACTE accredited course is required. A Bachelors degree and evidence of professional work experience is required.

Model II Administrators Credential (with School Administration Specialization)

Model III Administrators Credential (with Dual Credential)* *Teacher education program
precedes beginning the Administration program.

Phase II Orientation and Independent Study Orientation is included within the Beginning Academics for all Administrators. For those participating in Model I or Model III an additional Orientation will be required. Phase III: Beginning Academics

Adapted schedules are available with approval from the course director.

Phase IV - Practicum

A practicum is an administrative internship consisting of a minimum of nine consecutive months at an approved school selected by the intern and approved by the course director.

2013 Administration Course Tuition


Administrators Program Model I

$6,700 Tuition Fee plus $305 Certification Membership Fees (Academic credit fee: $100*; AMS Adult Learner Fee: $205)
Administrators Program Model II

$3,700 Tuition Fee plus $205 AMS Adult Learner Fee


Administrators Program Model III

$7,700 Tuition Fee plus $305 AMS Certification Membership Fee (Academic credit fee: $100*; AMS Adult Learner Fee: $205) Schedule for all three Models: With application: $500 (application payment) Initial Payments due one week prior to Orientation Date: $2,000 (towards Tuition Fee) and a separate payment for Certification Membership Fees.

Refund Policy

If an applicant is not accepted, the $500 application payment is refunded. If an applicant withdraws before the Orientation date, $400 will be refunded. A letter of withdrawal must be submitted by the student in order to receive a refund. No refunds will be made after Phase II Orientation has begun. Note: 1. Tuition payments received more than five business days after the payment plan due date, will result in a $25 late fee. Checks returned for any reason will result in a $25 returned check fee. 2. 2. The first and third visits to Practicum sites (over 150 miles from Seton Montessori Institute) will require a travel expense fee of $250 each for a total of $500. This is non-refundable. Checks or money orders are accepted for all payments. VISA or Master Card (presented in person during business hours) are accepted for Initial Payment, Plan 1 or Plan 2 options only. *Applicants holding a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education are exempt from paying the Academic Credit Fee. A $200 late enrollment fee will apply to Model I and III applications processed after the published deadline.
