ENGLISH FOR EIGTH GRADE (PRIMARY LANGUAGE) Standards of knowledge, skills and criteria of grading : 1) LEXICAL KNOWLEDGE- Students should/must understand the meaning of lexical units in accordance to the topics given in the curriculum for fifth grade and the same ones can be used receptively and productively in an adequate context. 2) GRAMMAR STRUCTURES- Students should /must understand and to use in the appropriate way grammar structures according with the curriculum. Also applies grammar structures in framework of a complex sentence in oral and written communication 3) COMMUNICATION MODELS- Student should/must make simple communication using the communicative models according to the curriculum. 4) MULTICULTURAL CONTEXT- has the knowledge for specific landmarks of cultural characteristics of given nations using the multicultural approach and making comparisons with other cultures and also finding the mutual characteristics. 5) LISTENING COMPREHENSION- Students should/must recognize and notice concrete and important parts in messages and dialogues and also recognizes high and low intonation. Globally understands longer oral statements(short texts) and recognizes concrete information from various listened material. 6) CONVERSATION- Students should reproduce and produce simple statements with appropriate accents. Expresses personal opinions, thoughts and reactions. 7) READING - Students should/must reads with the aim to recognize specific information in a given text and also reads with comprehension ( instructions, signs, information and messages). 8) WRITING- Students should /must correctly write simple sentences in aspect of structures and punctuation and also writes small number of linked sentences to receive or send simple information. Writes short compositions which demand or transfer personal information, feelings , thoughts ,opinions . Writes letters( formal and informal) and messages.
