ICJ - The International Court of Justice, established by the Charter of the United Nations. Jurisdiction - The power, right, or authority to interpret and apply the law. Compulsory Jurisdiction - A mandatory jurisdiction that a state has agreed to accept in certain prescribed matters. Previous Acts - Actions committed before the effective date (Section 5) of this act. SEC. 4. ENACTMENT OF THE NEW 22 USC 287 (I). Add to 22 USC 287 following subsection H, subsection I, which reads: (I) Jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice The United States of America will extend compulsory jurisdiction to the ICJ, in all matters that the ICJ adopts with the exception of situations where a right or privilege otherwise guaranteed by the Constitution or by United States

Mr. McCREARY introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This act may be cited as the "International Law Compliance Act." SEC. 2. SCOPE OF THIS ACT. This act will be amending 22 USC 287, regarding the relationship between the United States and the United Nations. SEC. 3. DEFINITONS. Jurisprudence The collection of laws, treaties, codes, legal rulings, and other legal precedents established in the United States.

Jurisprudence may be violated. Nor will jurisdiction be granted for previous acts prior to the enactment of this statute. (1). The State Department in conjunction with the Department of Justice shall ensure that the provisions set forth in this statute are adhered to and maintained. (2). The Senate Foreign Relations Committee shall have oversight for all provisions in this statute, and will ensure that the State Department and the Department of Justice execute this statute in good faith. SEC. 5. EFFECTIVE DATE.

This act shall go into effect on the date of the inauguration of the next President of the United States.
