Responsibilities/Role
Plan for and guide the learning process to help students achieve program objectives. Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experience Strong communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness, including strong relationship building, team building and conflict management experience.
Job Description
Prepare daily lesson plans and instruct groups of youth, providing in depth attention to students as necessary Develop course curriculum, syllabus and integrated lesson plans. Assess each student's learning style; design and implement curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials appropriate for youth Provide a learning environment to motivate youth Communicate regularly with Academic Advisor Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, education, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, or (in progress is acceptable) OR The equivalent Bachelors in any of the above Experience working with low-income first, generation high school students Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support student activities
Day/hours and duration of job: Approximately 16 Saturdays Employment start date: February 2, 2013 to May 18, 2013 Working hours: 9 am to 12:00pm plus one hour compensation for preparation Hourly Rate: $25
