All rigid non metallic conduits supplied by Albou comply with AS/NZS2053 for the relevant
duty rating indicated in the table below. All dimensions are given in Metric Sizes (mm) all
lengths include a flared connector end. Conduits are made to suit standard commercially
available fittings supplied in New Zealand and Australia. Orange PVC conduit is designed for
concealed installation colour may fade in direct sunlight.

Requirements under specified tests (resistance to compression, resistance to collapse, impact resistance etc.).

Rating is with reference to the dimensional requirements of AS/NZS2053.

FAQ AND TECHNICAL NOTES:

Will Albou PVC Conduits and Fittings burn?
Albou Conduits and Fittings are classified by AS/NZS2053 as a non-flame propagating and
do not support combustion.

Are they chemical resistant?

Albou PVC products are resistant to most common corroding agents however they should
not be used if liable to be exposed to solvents such as aromatic and chlorinated
hydrocarbons, ketones and esters.

What operating temperature range applies to Albou Conduit and Fittings?

Albou conduits have an operative temperature range -15C to +60C. PVC Conduit has a
high co-efficient of thermal expansion (approximately 0.1mm per metre per 1C). In long runs
likely to be subjected to wide temperature variations, expansion couplings should be
provided at 9m intervals.

Can I bend Albou Conduit with a bending spring?

PVC conduit not exceeding 25mm in diameter can be bent cold using the appropriate
Bending Spring however care should be taken when bending conduit at temperatures
below 10C to prevent fracturing. When bending conduit, a minimum radius of six times the
conduit diameter is recommended. Fix conduit with saddles, or other supports, as soon as
possible after bending.
