Routine Identification in seconds 304/321 separation or Grade 7/CPTi in less than 5 seconds
Three modes of operation

Assay and Grade library ID uses two synchronized analytical modes which automatically select the correct mode to give the best analytical result. Empirical Assay Calibration mode produces fast, accurate analysis even at low concentrations. Traceable reference standards establish the calibration. This method is useful when all main elements present in a sample cannot be analyzed such as in metallic carbides. Fundamental Parameters (FP) is a universal standardless calibration where practically any combination of measurable elements can be analyzed accurately. FP can measure up to 30 elements between Ti-U regardless of concentration. The elements analyzed can be customized for specific applications. These two modes run smoothly together even when the user has no information about the materials composition. Direct spectral identification
Extensive and open grade library

In most cases, users need to know the grade name of an alloy (with or without assay readings). Tens of thousands of metal grades are defined worldwide and many of these definitions are specifically local. The X-MET5000 allows easy editing of grade libraries to add new alloys or rename alloys. In addition the precision of the grades can be adjusted to prevent false alarms which may occur during short measurement times. The PentaPIN detector provides faster analysis and lower detection limits for all elements.
For example, a 10 second analysis produces the equivalent result to that of a 30 second analysis made using a standard Si-PIN detector. It will even separate the small amounts of Hf and Ta in Nickel alloys, usually too difficult to analyze.

Light Element measurement without vacuum or helium

The X-MET5100 is a truly rugged handheld XRF Light Element analyzer. It provides fast, highly accurate laboratory quality chemical analysis of Aluminum and Titanium alloys and can reliably analyze light elements such as silicon and phosphorus from copper, nickel and steel alloys. With its combined proprietary SDD and X-ray technology, the X-MET5100 dispenses with previously needed helium tanks or vacuum pump attachments. Powerful Light Element capability combined with the non-destructive nature of the XRF technique makes X-MET5100 an invaluable tool for the aerospace industry where often finished or sensitive samples need to be analyzed. PMI-MASTER PRO
Fast and reliable metal-analysis
The completely revamped spectrometer system offers besides its compact and sturdy construction, additional functions and also an improved analytical capability.
Apart from the new excitation-electronics, which guarantee a superior precision and constancy in both Arc and Spark results, the energy management of the instrument was also enhanced for mobile use. The 24 volt power supply is designed to guarantee independence from mains power over a number of days. Operation is via a 12.1 inch touch-screen monitor. Depending on use the monitor can be individually adjusted. The pluggable module can also be used independently of the transportation unit, making it easy to use even in difficult to access locations. Thanks to the multi CCDs Optical-system with up to 30.000 channels, material tests on all standard materials grades and chemical elements can be executed. With the optional UV probe assessing P and S in Steel is unproblematic. The optical system is re-adjusted fully automatically without any interaction by the operator. As this process is constantly preformed in the background during normal operation, so it is not necessary to acclimatize the instrument. When switched on the PMI-MASTER PRO is immediately ready for action, there is no warm-up phase. Due to the WAS jet-stream technology; the probe can be used on the most complex shapes, even wire can be accurately measured without the added cost of specialized and expensive adapters. Whats more, as standard, our probes are fitted with HPC fibre-optic cable. This special high transmission Quartzfibre is not prone to decay (blindness) caused by the effects of solarisation and is therefore unique in its stability and durability. This uniqueness allows precise measurement of the minutest trace of carbon. (I.e. in low carbonized stainless steel 304L/316L).

PMI-MASTER SORT
State of the Art technology in mobile metal analysis
The PMI-MASTER SORT is a robust, portable spectrometer for precise analysis, quick grade ID and sorting of all common metals and their alloys.
The instrument source works with a high-frequency spark in argon or a directcurrent arc in air. The respective excitation mode can be selected according to application and can be changed easily. Depending on the selected mode, the PMI-MASTER SORT analyses metals almost as precise as a laboratory instrument. If using purely for rapid sorting, a measurement time of only a few seconds is required. Because of the compact design the PMI-MASTER SORT is a universal spectrometer that always lives up to the different demands. The operating system for the internal PC is Microsoft WindowsTM XP. This and the WASLaB software are controlled by a scratch-resistant and industrial-standard touch-screen. The interfaces for printer, network, USB are standard hardware ports. The PMI-MASTER SORT is equipped with an internal battery, allowing operation independent from a fixed power supply, which makes the system extremely flexible. The battery is automatically charged whenever the system is connected to the mains. Since the introduction of the PMI-MASTER SORT in early 2000, the instrument has proved its value worldwide with hundreds of installations. A simple plug is sufficient to connect the sample probe to the basic instrument. The probe is quickly detached from the PMI-MASTER SORT for easy transportation. (Transportation-case Optional)

TEST-MASTER PRO
Tougher than the rest
TEST-MASTER PRO is a robust, mobile spectrometer for precise analysis, quick grade ID and sorting of metallic samples. It is optimised for continuous operation, and is ideally suited for heavy industrial and fully automated applications.
The TEST-MASTER PRO exhibits the unique capability to produce precise carbon analysis with a surprisingly short 4 second test. A software controlled digital high frequency power source, produces a controlled spark in argon or a directcurrent arc in air. Current, voltage, frequency and inductance can be separately monitored and adjusted to optimise the most efficient parameters for the particular application. Frequencies and voltages up to 500 Hz / 500V as well as an arc current of up to 6 amps allow for trouble-free excitation. A particular plus is that even grey cast iron excitation in spark-mode is possible. Speed of analysis, precision and user-friendliness were the most important factors in the development of the TEST-MASTER PRO. The Multi-CCD-Optics readout system uses DSP technology (Digital Signal Processing). The 14 CCD-detectors each have a dedicated processor, evaluated the data from the complete wavelength range in microseconds. Cooling within the case of the instrument has been revolutionised, the TEST-MASTER PRO is equipped with a secondary cooling-circuit with heat exchanger. The conventional cooling fan arrangement and air-convection found in most instruments becomes redundant. Heat is dispelled via a specially designed jacket, efficiently cooling the instrument without moving parts. Additionally the TEST-MASTER PROs housing is hermetically sealed, dust particles or other impurities cant get into the instrument case; this is generally the most common reason for instrument failure.
