the product Many manufacturers of chocolate, compounds, coatings, spreads and fillings have relied upon a wide variety of production methods, based on the recipes used, volumes required and fineness, viscosity and texture of the end products. The conventional manufacturing system starts with a premixer, 2-roller refiner, 5-roller refiner and a mixer/conche. Fast payback. the process Several products (fat, powder, sugar, lecithin etc.) can automatically be fed in the weighing/premixer vessel. From the weighing/premixer vessel the mass is fed into the holding vessel by gravity after the mass has been weighed and mixed. From the holding vessel the mass is pumped into the grinding chamber of the W-85-CHOC by means of a pump and leaves this chamber by means of an outlet spout. In all cases the W-85-CHOC system will provide an excellent and constant product quality combined with high production flexibility and a fast payback. Wiecomix 350 The stainless steel weighing vessel, provided with a 3,7 kW contra-rotating stirrer and hinged cover, specially designed to provide precise automatic weighing and mixing of max. 350 kg basic ingredients that, after weighing, are fed into the holding vessel by means of gravity. The upper vessel receives all necessary products accurately weighed by the load cell. Immediately the mixing action starts with the special designed agitators. When all products have been fed the mixed product can be dumped in the bottom vessel. This one takes over the intensive mixing action, while the upper tank can be filled for the next batch. Solids as well as liquids can be fed into the WIECOMIX either automatically (PLC) or by hand. This unit can be provided with connections for adding fat, sugar, milk powder, etc. A pneumatic operated valve covers an outlet at the bottom of the vessel. The jacketed holding vessel, made of stainless steel, with a net volume of 400 litres is supplied with a dome-shaped bottom, a valve, a stirrer driven by a directly coupled 2,2 kW electric motor, level control and a removable cover. When the mixing is finished the mixture will be pumped to the refiner ball mill. W-85-ChoC
The refining action is accomplished by a special shaft with agitator arms rotating in a vertical, jacketed grinding tank filled with especially hardened steel balls. The various layers of grinding elements move in the same direction although with different speeds. The ball speed at the tips of the grinding arms is highest but almost zero at the periphery of the chamber, which in turn greatly reduces the rubbing effect between ball charge and chamber wall with a consequential low rate of wear. The W-85-CHOC ball mills combined with the WIECOMIX 350 mixer with integrated weighing computer is a compact high capacity continuous refining system for chocolate masses, compounds, coatings, bread spreads and various fillings.

The entire unit is fully automated with the process flow being shown on a screen by a graphic display. Furthermore relevant process data can be stored and visualised. The ball mill has been designed in such a way that the energy density in the grinding tank is extremely low, which has the distinct advantage of the product temperature being kept at a low level.
