Lunch: At 12-1ish Icelands most famous hotdogs (called "pylsur." ) at Bjarins Beztu Pylsur (10 minute walk from blue lagoon)

So why does everyone obsess over Icelandic hot dogs? Aren't they just hot dogs? Well, they're made with lamb in addition to the usual pork and beef parts. The lamb presence deepens its flavor, and even under a deluge of condiments, you can taste the lamby funk at the end. It was also by far the snappiest hot dog I've ever eaten. Like, you can hear the casing suh-nap as you bite. The most famous pylsur kiosk is in downtown Reykjavik across from the harbor. It's called Bjarins Beztu Pylsur, which translates to "the best hot dogs in town." Order it "eina me llu" (one with everything) for the works: a sweeter brown mustard ("pylsusinnep"), ketchup, raw onions, crunchy deep-fried onions (see "Cronions" in the slideshow), and a mildly tangy remoulade.

After Lunch Plans: TBC -Ill fill it in soon too tired for now. Thursday 09:00- Wakeywakey 10:00- Take the drive to the three golden circle places Notes about driving: apparently should cost $100 US cost per car including insurance, and yes it comes in
auto (although I think manual is cheaper)

1. Thingvellir National Park 2. Strokker, in between Thingvellir and Gullfoss) 3. Gullfoss Waterfall Depending on how long you stay at each sight, how slow you drive, and how many stops you make, it could take you anywhere from 5-9 hours to tour the whole Circle. Be sure to fuel up your car before you go as youll pass few, if any, gas stations. Bring a map and let your guesthouse or hotel know when to expect you back. Unless you plan on eating at the restaurant at Geysir, youll also want to bring some snacks and bottled water to enjoy in the car. If this is your only day touring Iceland by car, be sure to stop for photo ops often. Along and just off the route youll find sprawling lava fields, sparkling lakes, black sand beaches, rushing rivers and cascading waterfalls, plus fields full ofIcelandic horses (which will come running over if you stop to take their picture). Be sure to pause frequently to take it all in.
