Learning opportunities
As a graduate you will be eligible to commence the Chartered Accountants (CA) Program through the Institute of Chartered Accountants. As this program is critical for your professional growth and development we do everything possible to ensure your steady progress through this course. We not only provide financial assistance but also work-place support through technical training sessions, the opportunity to work with and learn from specialists, the provision of training materials and the encouragement of peer workgroups. Business Advisory
Our Business Advisory team specialises in delivering a full range of advisory services to the diverse, and rapidly expanding middle-market business sector. The middle-market generally consists of new and expanding businesses, listed companies, family businesses and medium-large private companies. In this team you will gain experience in: Strategic business advice Compliance (financial statement and taxation return preparation) Management analysis Tax planning Budgeting and cash flow forecasting Restructuring and asset protection Succession planning Wealth creation strategies Family business Business performance management and benchmarking Superannuation
Corporate Advisory
The Corporate Advisory team assists both private and public companies with a variety of corporate transactions. This team focuses on valuations and litigation support, mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings, including listing on the Australian Stock Exchange. In this team you will gain experience in: Business and share valuations Purchase price allocations and impairment reviews Acquisitions and divestments Due diligence reviews The preparation of independent expert reports for litigation matters and Corporations Act requirements Employee share ownership plans Capital raisings including debt and private equity placements Listing on the stock exchange
Tax Services
Our Tax Services team provides practical and meaningful advice to our clients. The team assists clients with ongoing taxation compliance, and taxation issues that arise from larger transactions and more specific issues. In this team you will gain experience in: Tax risk management strategies Merger and acquisition transaction structuring Tax effective exit strategies, IPOs and other fund raising transactions Structuring and restructuring investment and business operations in Australia and overseas Risk assessment Employee share plans Remuneration planning and salary packaging Implementing and operating in the tax consolidation regime Tax planning

Business Recovery
Our Business Recovery Services team works towards achieving results for stakeholders through formal or informal appointments in the corporate and personal insolvency and reconstruction areas. In this team you will gain experience in: Voluntary Administration Deed of Company Arrangement Creditors and Members Voluntary Liquidation Court/Official Liquidation Receivership Investigative Accountant Reporting Expert Witness Reporting Bankruptcy

Social clubs
We promote a cohesive and supportive team culture both within and across our business divisions. To help divisional teams get to know each other we hold a number of social functions from monthly drinks to more formal events such as our End of Financial Year party and Christmas black tie dinner. We also have an active social club which organises numerous events throughout the year. From days out at the races and harbour cruises, to lawn bowls and trivia nights theres something for everyone.
Service awards
Our staff are rewarded with a number of awards and programs in recognition of provision of service excellence or innovative solutions.
Sports
There are numerous opportunities to get involved at William Buck and develop your prowess in the sporting arena. Some of our more athletic (and the not so athletic) team members compete in corporate sporting events including the BRW Corporate Triathlon, Corporate Games and the ICAA sports carnivals. For the less competitively inclined theres always a choice of community and office based sports teams including, touch football, tennis, soccer, basketball and netball. And for those who want to get involved without raising a sweat theres our National Tipping Competition (AFL and NRL).
