Glenn Curtis II Purpose: The purpose of the website that I will be creating for my Final Project in Multimedia/Hypermedia is to showcase all of the course artifacts and field experiences that have developed as I progress through the Instructional Technology Masters program at The University of Akron. This website will provide evidence of my ability to: Utilize TPACK to combine technology, pedagogy and content knowledge when planning for and delivering classroom lessons. Exhibit knowledge of current technology standards, which will aid in the process of instilling 21st century skill in the students I influence. Assist colleagues with various technological difficulties and implementation of technology into their daily practices. Evaluate and reflect on my own technological practices and make improvements accordingly. Needs Assessment: This website is the platform which displays of all the skills I have gained through The University of Akrons Masters of Instructional Technology program. The requirements set forth by the College of Education state that I need to provide evidence that proves that I have acquired the essential skills needed to graduate. These requirements are outlined in a rubric that states the exact course artifacts, field experience and reflections to be included in this website. Audience: The current audience of this website will be The University of Akron faculty and advisors. They will determine if I have acquired and displayed the skills necessary to graduate. My classmates in Multimedia/Hypermedia will also access my website through a delivered presentation in an Elluminate at the end of the semester. Future students in this program may also access this website as a reference as they work towards their degrees. Once I graduate, I hope to use this website to display my work in the field of technology as interest for a future employer. Content/Subject and Its Fit With Web Site Goals: The content of this website will be included in the following four categories: 1. Leadership 2. Teaching and Learning 3. Design and Development 4. This content will be based around the concepts relating to the NETS*T (National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers). These include: Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments Model Digital-Age Work and Learning Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership By providing exemplary examples for each goal, my hope is to successfully obtain my Masters Degree. Using the above standards as a guideline will ensure that all of my coursework and field experiences will help develop a well organized and professional website that will display the diverse skills that I have acquired throughout this program. Presentation of information: The first page that a visitor will see is the homepage. This homepage will contain an introduction of myself as well as all of the work I have completed while going through the program. Each category will have its own page dedicated to the content relating to each category: Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Design and Development and Professional Development. On each categorys page, there will be two columns: one column for coursework and the other for field experiences; artifacts and reflections will be placed accordingly. Every page will maintain the same layout and color scheme to maintain consistency. A menu bar will be placed at the top of the page to allow users to easily navigate through the various pages on the website. The final page on my website will be my resume page. I feel that this page is extremely important to include because I will be using this website for possible future employment. Therefore, including it will cut down on the printed material for a job interview and allow potential employers to easily see at a glance what I have done and what makes me an exemplary candidate. Finally, every page will contain my email address at the bottom of the page so that at any time, a visitor can directly contact me. This will, again, make everything consistent across all pages of my website. Rationale for organization: I chose to organize the required information this way because it is easy for the visitor to navigate through. Each navigation tab will be clearly labeled and be descriptive of the information contained in the respective link. My main goal is to create a site that is organized and easy to progress through. Therefore, presenting the material in this manner gives the visitor a path to follow that will allow them to see my development throughout my studies through the artifacts and field experiences that they view. Media, Acquisition or Development and Rationale For Using: I will be using pictures taken of my students and myself at school as the main media for my

website. The pictures will relate to each category and will provide the visitor with a real sense of inclusion of technology in my lessons. Through the tools that I have learned thus far, I will edit these photos so that they are quick to load and easy to see. I will also included embedded audio or video for an introduction of myself on the homepage. By having the visitor listen to or see me will really draw them in and get a sense of what I am like; it gives the page a more personal touch and will allow the visitor to feel like they can relate to me. Additionally, there will be other forms of media that I will include as I progress through the IT Masters Program. I will add these artifacts to the site as I complete each course. Color Scheme and Rationale: The color scheme for my website will be modern and professional. I intend to use white, black, grey, dark grey and a shade of blue as the main colors of my website. The colors are all very easy on the eyes and are not loud or distracting to the viewer. Additionally, I have looked at various websites that I enjoy and really paid attention to their color schemes; all of these websites had colors in this range. My goal is create a professional website and having colors that are not off-putting or childish is my first design step to achieving this goal. I also chose these colors because I do not want their presence to distract the viewer from the intended purpose of the site. All of colors work well together, add a bit of professional flair and maintain unification across the site. I feel that using black text on each page for the bulk of the content will be best for the user because it is easy to see and consistent with many other websites on the Internet.
