Priority (PRIO)
1 Denition
With the Priority (PRIO) feature a subscriber can prioritize call setup for his or her directory number. If all outgoing trunks are busy, the path selection in the switching network is automatically repeated at defined intervals within a specific period.

2 Mode of operation
If a call setup by a subscriber with the Priority (PRIO) feature encounters a busy trunk group, the search for a free line or a free channel in the outgoing direction is automatically repeated through the switching network. The call attempts are repeated at fixed intervals for a predefined period, taking all possible alternative paths into consideration each time. If the call cannot be set up within the predefined period, the subscriber receives the all trunks busy tone (project-specific). The feature is effective for all traffic types. In the case of connections with MFC:R2 signaling and those with signaling system no. 7 (SS7), the priority status can be passed to other exchanges. These are then also able to treat the call setups with priority.
