EWSD
Time Dependent Call Forwarding

Definition The Time Dependent Call Forwarding service allows subscribers to automatically forward incoming call requests arriving at specific times to directory numbers that they have specified. For example, subscribers can forward their private directory number to their business number during office hours and to their mobile number during fixed traveling times. Up to 10 different destinations can be defined. This service takes effect on the called side of the connection. It is valid for analog and ISDN subscribers.

Mode of operation
EWSD network node calling subscriber Integrated service logic (ISL) called subscriber 1

The Time Dependent Call Forwarding service can be conveniently administrated using a menu-driven dialog. The service subscriber has the following options when administrating the service: Time interval for specic weekdays (Monday - Sunday) Time interval for specic weekday categories (weekend, working day, holidays) Time interval for each day The mode of operation of the service is described below for administration by the subscriber and for the case where any other subscriber calls the service subscriber.

Mode of operation for administration by the service subscriber The service subscriber dials an individual code issued by the network operator (1). After receiving this code, the coordination processor (CP) initiates IN and sends a special service key for subscriber-controlled administration using menu-driven interactive dialog via the Call Control Function (CCF) and the Service Switching Function (SSF) to the internal Service Control Function (SCF) (2). The SCF recognizes the service key and starts a menudriven interactive dialog to check the personal identification number (PIN) (3). The service subscriber is identified from the directory number and is given access authorization via the PIN (4). PIN, directory number and service key are sent to the service data access function (SDAF) and checked (5).

If the SDAF does not find an entry for the dialed directory number in the service data function (SDF) database, the SCF is informed and the connection is released. If a PIN is entered incorrectly, subscribers can repeat the operation three times (6a). If the PIN was correct, all the necessary service data are read out and sent to the SCF (6b). The SCF analyzes the information and selects the appropriate announcements for administration. The subscriber selects the desired action using dualtone multi-frequency (DTMF) (7). The SCF controls administration via menu-driven interactive dialog, sends the updated data to the SDF and receives the new service data from the SDAF (8).

Mode of operation of the service when a call arrives The calling subscriber dials the directory number of the service subscriber (1). The CP (after analyzing the destination directory number) analyzes the call data of the service subscriber and initiates IN. (2). A service key is sent via the Call Control Function (CCF) and the Service Switching Function (SSF) to the internal Service Control Function (SCF) (3). The SCF recognizes the service key for the destination directory number and requests service-specific data from the Service Data Function (SDF) via the Service Data Access Function (SDAF) (4).

The SDAF checks whether the destination directory number is valid and active and sends to the SCF all the service-specific information that is relevant to call processing (5). If the service is active, the SDAF requests a forwarding directory number for the search for a valid entry by calling the access procedure (6). The SDAF sends the result obtained from the SDF to the SCF. If the service is not activated or no entry is available, no data are sent (7). If no destination number is sent by the SDF, the SCF initiates the connection to the dialed directory number (8). If a new destination directory number is found, the SCF initiates the connection there (9).

If required for a specific project, up to five or ten entries are possible for a service subscriber. The service subscriber has no influence on the sequence of the entries. To select a correct entry it is necessary to define priorities, since more than one entry can be valid at the same time: the weekday category holiday has a higher priority than the weekdays category weekdays have a higher priority than weekends and working days daily entries have a lower priority than weekdays entries for immediate call forwarding have the lowest priority

Capacity The database is dimensioned for a maximum of 65,535 service subscribers per EWSD network node.

Subscriber procedure
Service subscribers have the option of activating and deactivating the service using menus: they can enter and delete entries in the list for time dependent call forwarding, listen to data that they have created, and they can quit the administration. To allow them to activate subscriber-controlled administration the network operator furnishes service subscribers with a specific digit code and a PIN after providing them with the service. Activate/deactivate The service subscriber can activate or deactivate the service via subscriber-controlled administration using menu-driven interactive dialog. Adding an entry An entry can only be added to a list if the maximum number of entries (5 or 10) for the list has not yet been reached. New entries are added to the list in accordance with the way in which priorities have been dened. The service subscriber uses menudriven interactive dialog to rst specify the time interval and, in the case of the weekday category, the relevant day. Deleting an entry from the list for time dependent call forwarding To delete an entry from the list, the service subscriber uses an index to specify this entry. After the announcement for this entry has been heard and after a further security prompt the entry is deleted. Listening to entries The service subscriber is sent an announcement for each entry. Subscribers can listen to the index, the type of entry, the time interval and the corresponding forwarding numbers. Each announcement can be interrupted. Exit from administration If the service subscriber has chosen to quit the administration, the SCF sends an announcement and the connection is released. Each entry is followed by an announcement which confirms a successful entry or states that no entry has been made.

Call charge registration

Call charge registration for activated call forwarding If a new destination directory number is activated for call forwarding, call charge registration for the calling subscriber is performed in the home EWSD network node using AMA or pulse metering. In the event of a forwarded call, call charge registration for the forwarded call is undertaken for the called subscriber (service subscriber) off-line using IN-AMA. Call charge registration when call forwarding is not activated If no new destination directory number has been activated for call forwarding, call charge registration is performed for the calling subscriber in the case of successful call setup for the connection to the dialed directory number using AMA or dial pulsing. Call charge registration for subscriber-controlled administration using menu-driven interactive dialog In the case of successful administration via menu-driven interactive dialog the internal SCF supplies the following call charge information: PIN authorization rst status announcement after successful identication via the PIN listening to all entries performing the operation after access to the database If the operation is unsuccessful, no call charge information is provided. The call charge information is evaluated using post processing.

Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands. Feature authorization The network operator assigns authorization for the feature when requested by the subscriber. Call charge registration The charges for feature usage can be administrated. For information on call charge administration please refer to OMN:EXCH-TA. System administration The following feature data can be administrated in EWSD network nodes: Options for subscriber-controlled administration using interactive menu-driven dialog For information on system administration please refer to OMN:EXCH-SY. Subscriber administration Authorization for the feature has to be assigned. For the service an IN trigger profile must be created and activated. For information on subscriber administration please refer to OMN:EXCH-SU.
