VISITORS VISA CHECKLIST


Please read this information carefully before you complete your application
The processing time for most nationalities is up to 15 days with seasonal variations. Please check with our Immigration Contact Centre on 02 9223 0144 for further information on processing times. We may request additional information during the assessment of your application. If we are unable to decide your application within 15 days, we will contact you within this timeframe about the status of your application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. All documents must be original or certified copies. All documents in a foreign language must be accompanied by an official English translation. Please do not purchase airline tickets or pay for accommodation before a visa is granted. We are not liable for any financial losses if you choose to do so. Holders of a current Australian Permanent Residence visa or a current Australian Residents Return visa do not require a visa for travel to New Zealand. All travellers should have their own valid passport/travel document. Children endorsed on parents passports/travel documents need to obtain a letter from their country of mission stating the reasons for not owning one. Return postage is your responsibility. Where there is no return postage, return of passports will be delayed. Suggested return postage: o Express Post Platinum: Overnight delivery. Signature required on delivery; or o Registered Post Envelope: Delivery could take 3-5 business days. Signature required on delivery; or o A pre-arranged pre-paid courier service.

1. A fully completed current Visitor Visa Application Form INZ 1017 that can be downloaded from our website: www.immigration.govt.nz. 2. A valid passport (or travel document) with a current Australian visa. In addition, please submit a certified copy of the bio-data page and the Australian visa page. If you are holding an Australian electronic visa, please approach DIAC to have a visa label placed on your passport prior to lodgement of your New Zealand visa application. 3. Two recent coloured passport-sized photos of your head and shoulders. Please write down your name on the back. 4. An application fee of AUD135.00. Nationals of Fiji, Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga & Papua New Guinea a fee of AUD105.00 is required. Nationals of the Philippines (for a visit not exceeding 59 days), Austria, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Turkey or the United States, are covered by Fee Waiver agreement with New Zealand; therefore, no application fee is required. 5. Methods of Payment: Bank Cheque, Money Order, Credit Card (excluding American Express). EFTPOS is available to those lodged in person. Cheques and Money Orders are to be made payable to Immigration New Zealand. 6. Evidence of your intended dates of travel to and from New Zealand in the form of a travel itinerary; i.e. bookings only (we do not require airline tickets) and evidence that you have the right of entry (a valid visa) to the country you will be entering after New Zealand. Please note that a number of countries require a visa, even for transit purposes; e.g. if you are travelling back to Australia, you need to show a valid re-entry visa to Australia at the time of lodgement of your application. 7. A bank transaction statement in your name for the last three months, showing funds sufficient to purchase airline tickets and to maintain your stay in New Zealand (NZ$1,000 per month for each person included in your application), Please Turn Over

A. Australian Student Visa Holders 1. A recent letter from your education provider in Australia, on official letterhead, confirming your course of study, enrolment status, expected completion date and attendance record. 2. Your schools knowledge of your leave from school and the holiday dates. NOTE: The Overseas Student Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) is NOT acceptable. B. Australian Temporary Resident (Work) Visa Holders 1. Recent letter from employer confirming occupation, employment status, and leave approval dates If travelling for holiday purposes. 2. Recent letter from employer on letterhead confirming purpose and duration of visit, guaranteeing living expenses and repatriation if travelling for business purposes. C. Australian Temporary/Provisional Residence (Partnership) Visa Holders 1. Marriage/civil union certificate or evidence of living together for de facto partners; and 2. Letter of support signed by spouse/partner demonstrating the partnership is still ongoing. Letter should include the purpose of visit and duration of relationship; and 3. Evidence of spouse/partners Australian resident status/citizenship. NOTE: On a case by case basis, further evidence of your relationship may be requested. D. Australian Temporary Business Visa Holders 1. Evidence of your business in Australia or your country of residence; e.g. company registration, recent tax returns. Business bank statements for previous three months; and 2. If you are intending to carry out business in New Zealand - a letter of support from the NZ organization/company confirming duration, dates and purpose of visit, on their official company letterhead. E. Australian Visitors Visa Holders 1. Statement of your purpose and duration of visit to Australia and New Zealand; and 2. A certified copy of return ticket to your usual place of residence; and 3. Evidence of any previous travel to other countries; and 4. If you are visiting your children in Australia, a certified copy of their birth certificate and Australian visa. 5. Any documents from Boxes A to D above maybe requested depending on your personal circumstances. F. Australian Bridging or Other Visa Holders 1. Recent correspondence from DIAC regarding current immigration status and basis of the bridging visa issued; and 2. A letter of explanation regarding your immigration history in Australia; and 3. Any documents or information maybe requested depending on your circumstances. G. If You Have Been Approved Australian Permanent Residence 1. A certified copy of your pre-grant letter from DIAC confirming the approval.
