Hello, Im Jacqueline Olynyk, a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) and the national leader of our SAP Consulting practice. I am pleased to share with you the following piece titled Adding value through innovation. This new booklet provides a summary of PwCs SAP capabilities and service offerings that we hope may be relevant to you or others in your organization. Let me tell you about our SAP practice here at PwC, and why we feel we are the right firm to help you with your SAP-related programs and initiatives. As you may have heard, our SAP practice comprises both our legacy PwC team and our new colleagues who joined us from BearingPoint in the Spring of 2009. While PwC and BearingPoint were very similar in our cultures and methodologies, there were historical differences in our areas of focus that complement each other quite well. For example, much of our depth in systems implementations comes from the BearingPoint side, which has a successful track record of designing and implementing SAP at large, global companies in a variety of commercial sectors. BearingPoint enjoyed a strong reputation for business-driven process blueprinting and design, technical areas like Basis and Netweaver, very cost-effective build and test capabilities in offshore global development centers, and an Application Managed Services capability for post-production supportall of which are now part of PwC. The legacy PwC business also implemented SAP but we are probably better known for excellence in other aspects of Business Enablement and Strategic Transformationareas such as process and organizational change; finance optimization, global shared services; SAP security and controls; SOX and IFRS compliance; and program risk management/project assurance. We have brought together the best of the two firms and now serve our clients through integrated teams that use one toolkit, one methodology, one knowledge repository and one set of business process models. Im often asked how PwCs SAP practice differentiates itself from its competitors. Its a tough question because some of our competitors are very good. One of my colleagues recently answered it in a way that I think hits the nail right on the head. He said that what set us apart from others is our ability to quickly combine the right competencies and industry insightsuniquely for each client issue. We really see ourselves not merely as systems integrators but as business integrators. Recently, a leading industry analyst firm referred to us as strategic integrators, which may be an even better characterization. Collaboration and teaming are such a strong part of our value system that we very seamlessly and fluidly assemble into delivery teams that bring together technologists, people and change advisors, accounting & finance specialists, our tax and regulatory compliance teams, and other specific competencies that you may not find in a traditional SAP technical integrator. Im sure a lot of our competitors say the same thing, but PwC is fairly unique in that teaming and collaboration are an explicit and fundamental part of our value system. We team with each other, we team with our clients, and when there are multiple service providers helping a client, we team with them as well. On behalf of all of us here at PwC, Id like to thank you for giving us this opportunity to present our SAP capabilities and qualifications. In my role as our SAP practice leader, I also want to emphasize our commitment to listen to you, to tailor our solutions to your needs, to bring you the best of our bestin short, to do everything we can to make you successful. I hope you choose to look at PwC for any current and future initiatives. Regards,

Our solutions are business and risk driven. This provides PwC with a perspective that is aligned to your needs and objectives and is not solely based on implementing a technology solution. We have worked together with companies across industry segments to successfully plan and implement SAP with focus on leveraging experience from prior implementations in order to optimize the project results and reduce implementation costs and risks. We accomplish this by providing deep expertise in business strategy, SAP technology, operational processes, people management, organization design, program management, change management, and benefits realization. Our SAP practice is a global network of subject matter specialists designated by skill sets that range from highly technical SAP security and Netweaver skills, through detailed business process optimization, to system integration specialists. A major oil and gas supplier asked PwC to provide specialized, deep SAP skills on demand, in multiple countries, in order to support the clients global SAP program. We delivered. Our approach allowed us to bring the right blend of talent with a cross section of skills that provided value-added experiences from analysis through to post-implementation. Our SAP methodology and tools, including Transform, ExCelerate, PwC Global Best Practices, and the PwC IT Framework, mean that we can deliver true value rapidly and efficiently. Our tools and accelerators deliver faster time to value while providing a real-time view of performance in every area of the business. Ultimately our clients gained improved visibility of their business processes with productivity gains and better access to information. We bring a depth and breadth of SAP skills and talent through integrating directly with our Global Development Centers (GDC) in Shanghai, China and Bangalore, India, to provide global delivery and back office support capabilities (research, helpdesk, training, ABAP, Basis, and architecture). At a large metals and mining company, a PwC team of SAP and business process professionals worked with 35 client resources to execute the upgrade and convergence of systems over a period of 12 months.
PwC assisted the client in implementing SAP ERP 6.0 and interfaces based on SAP NetWeaver with legacy systems making use of PwCs GDC for rapid development. Our Application Managed Services for SAP complement our experienced on-site and cost-efficient off-shore GDC development and integration teams with postimplementation support and maintenance of SAP applications. Our clients continuously benefit from our flexible Applications Management Solution that encompasses Level 1 Help Desk support services, including on-going application patching, testing, break-fix and end-user issue resolution. We help our clients resolve issues with SAP applications and support of third party bolt-on applications, interfaces and enhancements. IFRS Transition
PwC has been involved in more than 1300 IFRS conversion projects globally, and has a depth and breadth of experience in the issues around the transition and the impacts that will have on the business. It is not a mere accounting issue, but rather a business transformation activity that requires detail-level changes to support the high-level accounting needs. PwC can bring its combination of finance, process and technology skills to assist in developing a effective and efficient transition over time. There are 3 key technology areas impacted by IFRS conversion/ convergence: The Financial Reporting Systems, the General Ledger, and the Subledgers/Subsystems. Companies will take different approaches to adoption, but companies may have to prioritize embedding due to cost or resource constraints. In other words, they may elect to push IFRS down into the three levels of finance technology in phases over time. Financial Reporting Systems are a must as this is a hard requirement, but embedding into the GL and subsystems/subledgers is about process efficiency.

What we do
Technology is a key enabler of every HR transformation. Many HR organizations with sound strategies fail to execute because they lack the integrated global technology required to streamline HR service delivery, link HR data to business operations and provide value added workforce analysis and reporting on an enterprise-wide basis. Complex global organizations often house disparate HR systems, and struggle to align their technology strategies with their overall HR management organization and processes. Many complex global businesses find it difficult to determine how many people they employ at a given time, the talent/skills/ availability associated with their employees, or the depth of succession at senior levels of the organization. Absent integrated HCM capabilities, many do not have the data management or analytics capabilities to understand the workforce, access information about talent on a global basis, or even to generate accurate reporting around compensation and benefits. As business and technology advisors specializing in human resource services, we assist our clients across all stages of SAP HCM based transformation efforts via performance improvement consulting programs/projects and staff augmentation efforts in the following areas: Definition of an integrated future state HR services strategy that enables targeted business strategies and takes advantage of demonstrated leading practices Conducting a current state analysis and identifying key gaps between the current service delivery approach and future state requirements to define and prioritize new SAP HCM enabled services Designing the required HR service delivery model and processes that drive the business case value proposition for enabling HR transformation with SAP HCM and other point solution capabilities Building, configuring and installing the new delivery model, including implementation of SAP enabled process transformations, SAP HCM employee/manager self-service, HR shared services, HR centers of excellence, and value-added enterprise communication and change management plans Defining workforce analytics and performance dashboards enabled by SAP HCM services that are normalized for comparison and workforce management prioritization efforts Implementing benefit realization plans and validating compliance and regulatory controls on global basis Additionally, we bring forward leading capabilities in collaboration with our SAP Partner relationships to enable value-added SAP HCM Planning, Blueprinting, Realization and Optimization services. What we do Sound Organizational structure support responsiveness and integrationOrganizational responsiveness from a systems perspective will be greatly enhanced if the indirect tax systems are streamlined and common so that the entity structuring is limited to additional application configurations and data migration instead of multiple applications, hardware, integration, configurations and reduced data integrity. This may also lead to reduced cost of system licenses and long-term implementation and integration costs Streamlining Sales, Buyers, AP, AR, finance and systems support Fewer indirect tax determination affected systems, particularly those without indirect tax determination functionality, will require fewer systems support staff. Increasing the functional capacity of systems for determining indirect taxes will also decrease FTE support requirements Improved controlsMore transparent automated and manual indirect tax affected process created by fewer variant and not fit-for-purpose systems will allow for greater controls over those processes. This may result in an increased confidence in transactional data integrity and completeness, which can be more easily tested by data assurance tools Maximizing insight and cash management opportunitiesBy having fewer systems dealing with indirect taxes the possible loss of data integrity should reduce and the depth of data available should increase managements insight into their indirect tax position at any given point in time, improving their capacity to respond tactically to cash management issues

57 | SAP: What we do
What we do The IV&V activities follow PwCs Systems Implementation Assurance (SIA) methodology. Our SIA methodology aligns with the IEEE 1012 standard and considers implementation risk in terms of potential impact to business, project and control outcomes. SIA projects begin with an initial project risk assessment to prioritize these risk areas based on the clients environment and scope of the clients implementation. Based on this understanding, an overall risk assessment is presented to the client and a detailed work plan is developed to focus future project assurance reviews on the most relevant risk topics.
PwC can help you realize the full value of transformational change by providing timely assessments performed by our independent advisors. These projects typically reveal planning, governance, or technical issues that allow management to decide on and implement critical mid-course corrections. By not identifying and correcting project planning or execution issues in a timely fashion, a domino effect is created that often causes significant project cost overruns, inefficient use of company resources in executing the project, and/or sub-optimum project outcomes. The review and improvement of in flight or existing SAP implementations includes the following services: Systems Review Governance Review Strategy Alignment Improvement Plan Assistance with the implementation of the plan
