Ayurvedic Treatment for White Hair

Ayurvedic treatment helps to prevent premature white hair and restore natural hair colour. Some natural pigmentation of hair tends to disappear as a person ages and eventually this turns hair to white colour. However, if your hair begins to turn white or grey at an early age then it is probably due to certain diseases, hereditary or nervous shock. In case of premature whitening of hair it is wise to

go for a thorough examination.Here are some of the ayurvedic treatments for white hair:

One of the time-tested treatments for white hair is applying a mixture of coconut oil and curry leaves. This treatment can be done on a daily basis. Take a cup of curry leaves and 1/8 cup of coconut oil in a saucepan. Bring it to boil at medium flame. Keep the pan aside till the mixture has cooled down to the room temperature. Gently massage this mixture onto your scalp and leave for 20 minutes. Wash your head with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.

Indian gooseberry (amla) works in excellent manner to prevent and restore premature greying and white hair. Cut few amlas into pieces and dry them in shade. Now boil the dried amla pieces with coconut oil until they turn soft and grey in colour. Gently massage your hair with this oil.

Another way of using ayurveda for premature greying is to soak the dried amla pieces in water overnight. Next morning use this water to rinse your hair. Take a tablespoon of amla and almond oil. Mix few drops of lime juice to it and apply on your scalp. Another effective topical treatment for premature greying and white hair is mixture of buttermilk and curry leaves. You just need to mix a tablespoon of curry leaves to a cup of buttermilk. Apply on your scalp and massage gently. Wash after 30 minutes.

Henna is a natural hair colour that can be use for colouring white hair. To restore the colour of your hair apply mixture of lime juice, amlajuice and almond oil. You can safely keep this mixture in refrigerator for 72 hours. To make the mixture take 4 tablespoon of almond oil, 1 tablespoon of amla and lemon juice. Gently massage on scalp and leave for 45 minutes. Wash your head with cool water and moisturising shampoo. For best results apply this mixture on daily basis.

Another ayurvedic remedy to get back the lost colour of your hair is mixture of carrot seeds oil and sesame oils. This treatment can be done on regular basis. Take tablespoon of carrot essential oils and 4 tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix both the oils and then apply to your scalp and roots of hair. Wash with warm water by using a mild shampoo. The unused portion can be kept in refrigerator for about a month.
