Responsibilities and Duties of TPO


To look after the training and placement activities of students. To have close liaison with industry for placement of students. To work in consultation with Coordinator IndustryInstitute Interaction Cell for organizing lectures from the professionals from industry. To collect feedback from the companies coming for placement. Arrange Training programmes for soft skills and for interview facing skills for the students using institutional and external expertise. To organize the entrepreneurship workshops.

Training Activities
Faculty & Staff Training Need Analysis Training AvenuesSTTP & Tailored Trg. AICTE, ISTE, NITTTR, INDUSTRY etc. Training Outcome-Gain Replication Students Database of Trainers Asking Permissions Orient Students Monitoring Record Keeping Analyze Outcome Thank Trainer

Prepare Appropriate Performa for all these Activities : Application, Request Letter, Gain Report, Joining Report, Periodic Report, Monitoring Report, Thanks Letter etc.

Database of Training Providers Networking & Rapport Building with Training Providers by MOUs etc. Framing Guidelines for the Students Nos. of Students, Selection of Industry, Changing Industry, Dos & Donts Feed Back of Training Providers & Training Receivers Analyze & Replicate

Job Placement of Pass-Outs


Campus Recruitment: Single Campus/ Pool
Data Base Of Industries, Institute Boucher, Invitation, Frame Policy for Campus Drive, Team of Resource Persons, Post Selection Services. Off Campus / Industry On Board Placement Students Data Pool, MIS & Notifying Students Post Selection Services.

Office Set Up : TPOs Cabin, Interview & GD Rooms, PC, Printer, Scanner, LCD Projector/Seminar Room, Internet Connection, Telephone line/Prepaid SIM Card , Pen Drives/CDs , Stationary etc. [ Some Items are Mandatory as per AICTE Norms]

III Cell / Placement Cell/ IIP Cell Form the Cell having Members from the Industry, Academia, Consortium of Industries/ Industry Associations & Students. Invite Chairman, Secretary & Organizing Committee to meet at least Once/ Twice in a Year & keep record of meetings.

Institute Boucher Printed / E-version. Data Base of Industries: For various Branches with updated contacts. Data Base of Students. Updated with all Basic Fields relevant to Employer. Department wise placement coordinators/ resource persons. MOUs with Reputed Industries.

Time Schedule: As TPOs need to interact with the stack holders, therefore, they should be given sufficient considerations for their Work Load. May be in the form of one clear day with no teaching load. The considerations for Transportation if required may be given.

Contingency Budget: This is expected to meet the expenses like 1. SMS to students 2. Hospitality to Industry Team members at the time of Campus including Tea/ Coffee/ Mineral water/Breakfast/Lunch etc. 3. Miscellaneous expenses.

Placement Policies
TPOs in consultation with Principal/Dean must formulate the placement policy. Mostly it must reflect the points like: 1. For How many Attempts a student can face Campus ? 2. If Selected once Should he/she allowed to face another Campus? How many times? Why? 3. If a student declines to join the employer even after the receipt of offer letter!

Challenges For TPOs


Location : Remote or Rural & Limited Industries near by. Lack of Support in terms of Infrastructure / general. Market Trend & Job Scarcity Neglecting Aggressive Approach and Cool Attitude.

Assertion Techniques
Aggressive Approach & Rapport Building Strategic Planning upon the SWOT analysis Cooperative & Supportive attitude with Transparent Actions. Take the Feed Back of Industries & Try to implement their Suggestions. Team Work & joint efforts

Conclusion
TPOs job is known as Thankless Job. TPOs can not do wonders alone. Its the team effort & integrated approach. TPOs task becomes sluggish with lack of resources and supportive considerations. Success Of Best TPOs lies in: Aggressive & Proactive Attitude. Quality of Product & Employability Factors of the Job Market
