ESRG Provides OstiaEdge SmartShipSM Remote Monitoring and Condition Based Maintenance to the Republic of Korea Navy ESRG

offers the latest in CBM, incorporating real-time equipment health monitoring and predictive diagnostics to better manage maintenance and operations of shipboard equipment. Virginia Beach, Virginia ESRG is proud to announce its OstiaEdge SmartShipSM Remote Monitoring and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) product suite has been provided to the Republic of Korea Navy for their new FFX-class multi-purpose frigates and KMLS-II mine layer ship. The FFX and KMLS-II class ships combine the latest in technology across sensors, weapons systems, and communications. With the addition of the OstiaEdge SmartShipSM product suite, the ships will now have the latest in CBM, incorporating real-time equipment health monitoring and predictive diagnostics to better manage maintenance and operations of shipboard equipment. ESRGs OstiaEdge SmartShipSM product suite was developed by marine reliability and maintenance engineers for multiple maritime markets, including container, tanker, bulk and feeder shipping, offshore platform support and supply vessels, offshore oil and gas platforms, and defense. ESRG is partnering exclusively with L-3 MAPPS for the Korean Naval market to deliver the OstiaEdge SmartShipSM product suite. The product has already been deployed on one ship, and there are five installations in progress. A contract is in place for another 21 ships over the next 10 years. There are many benefits to SmartShipSM, including: Improved Reliability and Availability Dependable assets are healthy assets. Problems are identified and dealt with early in the progression of symptoms, before they translate to expensive downtime. ESRG brings over 20 million hours of machine time monitoring experience in the OstiaEdge SmartShipSM product suite. Fewer Failures, Less Downtime in Port Expensive repair and maintenance costs are often eclipsed by the enormous costs of downtime in port. SmartShipSM can typically save one or more days of downtime due to mechanical failures in the first year alone, often paying for the entire system in a single event. Increased Energy and Fuel Efficiency SmartShipSM contains the information needed to identify, understand and correct performance degradations, empowering engineers to optimize the balance between energy costs, maintenance costs and downtime, translating to significant financial benefits. Faster Response, Reduced Human Variance

Abnormal situations are stressful and responding accurately and efficiently can be difficult. SmartShipSM delivers commands that tell operators and maintainers exactly how to handle these events. System managers choose recommendations in advance and embed these details directly into the configuration of the machinery. Instead of deciding how to respond, personnel can react with predetermined actions at the speed business demands. By allowing off-ship experts to engage, problems can be resolved before technical representatives would be able to make traditional (and expensive) troubleshooting visits. Powerful Analytic and Diagnostic Capabilities Powerful business intelligence capabilities are directly built into SmartShipSM. From deep-dive diagnostics on one machine to enterprise-wide analysis of performance across the fleet, SmartShipSM will help minimize downtime and optimize maintenance across equipment made by any OEM. Easy to Implement OstiaEdge SmartShipSM combines Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery models with ISO 13374-1:2003, a Mimosa-compliant open architecture which has an onboard footprint of less than one square foot and a shipboard software installation time of less than one hour. No shipboard IT staff is needed to install or maintain SmartShipSM. Onboard and shore-based users can get up to speed with less than 30 minutes of training to take advantage of the OstiaEdge value. ESRG offers three products within the SmartShipSM suite: Vessel Edition SmartShipSM VE is a Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) software that monitors equipment for potential failures or degradation in performance to ensure timely maintenance is conducted onboard a single ship. SmartShipSM VE integrates online and offline equipment data sources, and analyzes that data against user configured rules and algorithms to evaluate the state of machines and systems. Early detection and diagnosis of machinery failures is intended to drive operational and maintenance decisions. Shore Edition SmartShipSM SE receives data from ship management systems (i.e., SmartShipSM VE) on a configurable time basis (at least one time per day) and provides fleet managers a consolidated view of all asset health within their enterprise. Business Intelligence OstiaEdge SmartShipSM BI is a fully integrated plant and central level Business Intelligence application that provides powerful analytics, reporting generation capabilities to operators and monitoring centers.
