2013 SCIENCE BOOK PRIZE

Publishers and authors are invited to submit entries for the 2013 Science Book Prize. The definition of science book for this prize is a book about science that does not require specialist knowledge of the subject or of science in general, in order to be read, enjoyed and understood. This award is independently managed and funded by the Royal Society of New Zealand and seeks to promote popular science writing in New Zealand. The 2013 Science Book Prize is for books published in calendar years 2011 and 2012. The winning author(s) will receive $5,000 (or part share). The finalists will be announced at the end of March and the winning title will be announced at the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival in May 2013 (exact date tbc). All short-listed authors and publishers must attend the announcement ceremony.
