Billboard magazine the ultimate music magazine was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, November 1, 1894, by William Donaldson and James Hennegan. Originally the magazine, advertised articles for the bill posting industry- for the trade industry, hence their previous billboard magazine logo and layout. After a couple of years the magazine had progressed into different targeted consumers and topics for articles- the outdoor reality amusements, the modern day targeted audiences. Eventually the magazine became well known for its record of articles for its live entertainment such as fairs, carnivals, circuses etc that excited the public. The magazine billboard further continued to expand and increase its recognition as billboard then began coverage of motion pictures and wrote numerous articles and reviews on them in 1909

and then later more media industrial areas such as radio in the 1920s. As the years went on by, billboard only grew better and stronger as a media print company magazine. In the 1930s the creation of jukeboxes were made so the magazine now were exposed and began publishing music charts and reviews, all consisting of the three main originated music genres of the 1930s (at the time; that have now developed into many different categories of genre.) of Pop, Rhythm, and Country& Western. Later in the 1950s television coverage on billboard magazine were introduced, covering the television industry news and events- including rating and programm charts, however still continued the outdoor entertainment coverage too. However the coverage and publication of outdoor entertainment

and the television industry had stopped by 1961 when other print magazines had been made covering the same more popular coverages in these sections. And it is from 1961! That billboard magazine had started publications devoted entirely to the music industry, the magazine was renamed from the billboard to billboard magazine and restructured to appeal to a new target audience in the music industry, however some articles did co-operate with the entertainment industry but almost entirely to the music industry. The title was changed to billboard officially in 1963. In 2005, Billboard magazine was available online, through the web and internet till today, making it more efficient and easier to access, for their targeted audience. The site provided coverage of all forms of the

music industry, digital and mobile entertainment. Billboard had first introduced the hit parade charts for readers in 1936 (January 4th) called music popularity chart now known as the charts today. In 1958 the hot 100 had been published that combined single sales and radio airplay into charts ascending from 1-100.
