Allison, driving a 1967 Dodge, finished inches ahead of Paschal in the race around the 5/8-mile paved track. He averaged 88.990mph in his winning effort. Richard Petty, also ina '67 Plymouth, finished i n the same lap with the front-running duobut was almost three-quarters of a lap off thepace. James Hylton, current Grand National points leader, ilnlshed fourth and Friday Hassler collected fifth.
