Classification
Non-opioid analgesic

Adverse effect
Side effects are rare with paracetamol when it is taken at the recommended doses. Skin rashes,blood disorders and acute inflammation of the pancreas have occasionally occurred in people taking the drug on a regular basis for a long time. One advantage of paracetamol over aspirin and NSAIDs is that it doesn't irritate the stomach or causing it to bleed, potential Side effects of aspirin and NSAIDs.

Indication
To relieve mild to moderate pain due to things such as headache, muscle and joint pain, backache and period pains. It is also used to bring down a high temperature. For this reason paracetamol can be given to children after vaccinations to prevent postimmunisation pyrexia (hightemperature). Paracetamol is often included in cough, cold and fluremedies.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to acetaminophen or phenacetin; use with alcohol.

Nursing Consideration
Assessment & Drug Effects Monitor for S&S of:hepatotoxicity, even with moderate acetaminophen doses, especially in individuals with poor nutrition. Patient & Family Education Do not take other medications (e.g., cold preparations) containing acetaminophen without medical advice; over dosing and chronic use can cause liver damage and other toxic effects. Do not self-medicate children for pain more than 5 d without consulting a physician. Do not use for fever persisting longer than3 d, fever over 39.5C (103 F), or recurrent fever. Do not give children more than 5 doses in24 h unless prescribed by physician.

ACTION
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, thus promoting osmotic instability which eventually leads to bacterial cell death.

INDICATION
Skin and skin structure infections caused by staphylococcus streptococcus.GU infections caused by E.coli klebsiella.

CONTRAINDICATI ON
Contraindicated with allergy to cephalosporin of penicillin. Use cautiously with renal failure, lactation, pregnancy

ADVERSEREA CTION
Skin rashes, flushing, headache

NURSING CONSIDERATIONS
Assess patients previous sensitivity to penicillin or other cephalosporin. Assess patient for signs and symptoms of infection before and during treatment. Assess for anaphylaxis: rash, urticaria, pruritus, chills, fever. Assess renal function before and during therapy.

Nalbuphine acts as an agonist at specific opioid receptors in the CNS to produce analgesia, sedation but also acts to cause hallucinations and is an antagonist at receptors

Relief of moderate to severe pain Preoperative analgesia, as a supplement to surgical anesthesia, and for obstetric analgesia during labor and delivery.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to nalbuphine, sulfites; lactation. Use cautiously with emotionally unstable clients or those with a history of narcotic abuse; pregnancy prior to labor, labor or delivery, bronchialasthma, COPD, respiratory depression, anoxia, increased intracranialpressure, acute MI when nausea and vomiting are present, biliary tractsurgery.

Sedation. Clamminess, sweating headache, nervousness, restlessness, depression, crying, confusion, faintness, hostility, unusual dreams, hallucinations, euphoria, dysphoria, unreality, dizziness, vertigo, floating feeling, feeling of heaviness, numbness, flushing.

Infusion: Administer by direct injection or into the tubing of a running IV, each 10mg over 3-5 min.V-site incompatibilities: Do not give with nafcillin
