(Jan 2013 - Present) - Owner / Professional Planner Created consulting company dedicated to work in the areas of planning, cartography, economy, environment, urban studies, development, transportation, social-community planning, among others. Company is compromised with the better development and life quality in general for all Puerto Rico inhabitants and visitors throughout the inclusion of technical and strategically tools to the decision-making process. ======== Sociedad Sinergia Corp. (Oct 2012 - Present) - Co-Coordinator Co-coordinate from scratch the celebration of the 3th International Seminar: New Challenges for the Development of Latin America and the Caribbean. In the seminar the topics that will be the center of discussion are the viability of the actual concept of sustainable development and the presentation and extensive discussion of alternative views of sustainable development from a humanistic, historic, inclusive and diverse approach. Carrasquillo-Medrano State Elections Commission (Ago 2012 - Dec 2012) - Electoral Planning Analyst Served as analyst and consultant in-office for a political party in order to develop electoral strategies on the 2012 General Elections. Rooftop Solar Panel Challenge Project (Ago 2012 - Ago 2013) - Researcher * Participated on the Planning & Zoning Stage of the project in coordination with the Mayaguez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico, which leaded the investigation. The lead investigators are Dr. Agustn Irizarry and Dr. Efran O'neill. * Worked on the Benchmarking Investigation for the Solar Rights Act adaptation for Puerto Rico. * Work on GIS Models which let a better appreciation to locate the zones, terrains or communities that will have more exposure to sunlight and in general are the more adequate for the implementation of the project. ========

Some of my duties included the following: * Find and manage data to create formal inventory for the Department. * Work alliances and networks to set and celebrate activities in collaborations with different organization, agencies or individuals. * Assist with GIS support on different of the Institute projects and the Department of Agriculture in general. * Execute all GIS and mapping-related activities on the office. * Worked on various campaigns design to promote and brew green tourism economies on Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Puerto Rico. ========

GNA Consulting Group Inc. (Jan 2011 - May 2012) - Planner, Cartographer & GIS Analyst The office worked on the revision of Land Use Plan for the Municipality of Vieques. My responsibilities included the following: * Construct maps and blueprints which helped on the spatial analysis and understanding in general for all other analysis being made. * 3D modeling of urban areas as well as the bio-luminescent bay. * Several spatial analyses such as "viewsheds", "points of view" and numerous raster and vector creations. * Serve as a consultant in all geographical-related information in general. ========

University of Puerto Rico (Ago 2011 - Ago 2012) - Research & Teaching Assistant Served as assistant for the Dr. Criseida Navarro-Daz, Professor of the Graduate School of Planning. Some of my responsibilities were the following: * Assist in all research, proposals, presentations, classes, projects and papers. * Coordinate a 7-months Practicum Course in collaboration with the MIT Co-Lab (Allison Bryson) , the MIT Planning School International Development Program (Dr. Diane Davis) and the Graduate School of Planning of the University of Puerto Rico (Dr. Criseida Navarro-Daz). * Worked on direct relation with clients such as the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust in several studies. * Worked on direct relation with community leaders to develop strategies and mitigation plans for the conservation efforts for the Ro Piedras River Basin. ========

Carrasquillo-Medrano Student's Counsel of the University of Puerto Rico (Ago 2011 - Ago 2012) - Vice President * Reviewed and ensured the performance of all student committees and organizations under the Student Counsels umbrella. * Maintained updated the operational spectrum of the organization. * Served as spokesman on issues regarding student issues besides the president. * Worked hand-and-hand with the Deans of Students and other administrative instances on a regular basis. * Watch for the better development of the organization throughout all its decisions, expressions and actions. * Help closely the initiative of the recently re-activated Security Committee which was on call because of a criminal wave that suddenly hit the campus. This committee submitted a full report on observations and recommendations to the Academic Senate and the Administration in general. This report was highly praised by the community. ========

University Reform Committee (Ago 2011 - May 2012) - Co-Coordinator / Founding Member

As a result of the 2 strikes, a door indicating the possibility of a near-future University Law Reform appeared. This provoked the creation of this committee in order to define from the ground up the project of what kind of university the students and the people in general want or need or aspires. Part of my contributions to this initiative was the following: * Rescued documents and resources from similar discussions dated decades before and brought them to the debate through documents and live storytelling from key players from similar contexts in the past. * Participated in the discussion, design and preparation at all levels of the proposals to be discussed originally on forums and then all the revisions until we came up with a final version which was converted to a Bill of Law. * Served as resource for forums, talk, chats, debates, speeches, essays, presentations, interviews, and defender in general of the information gathering process of participative democracy for the construction of this whole proposal in general. ========

Curriculum Vitae David J. Carrasquillo-Medrano Student's Counsel of the University of Puerto Rico (Ago 2009 - Ago 2011) - Press Secretary On both these 2 Academic Years the students went on strike. The first one was from April 2010 to June 2010. The second one was a strike which didn't really never closed operations of the University, but it did manifested itself on a daily basis trying to interrupt on going classes and university affairs from December 2010 to February 2011. As Press Secretary of the Student's Counsel and as a student in general under this context my responsibilities included the following: * Participated on the Student's Negotiation Committee that sat with the Board of Trustees of the University of Puerto Rico through the process. * Redacted and debated with the alumni and other committee members the the student's demands and proposals in reunions, meetings and public forums such as the press, general assemblies and the internet. * Coordinated press conferences with tv, radio, newspapers and all other medium. * Redacted Press Releases on a constant basis with the expressions on part of the Student's Counsel, the Negotiation Committee, or the alumni in general. * Participated in conflict resolution treaties and agreements between students, faculty, employees and University Administration. * Co-coordinated several pacific demonstrations and marches in collaborations with union workers, students, organizations, non-affiliate people, and the police, among others. * Participated in many sub-committees throughout the process. ======== Fiscal Efficiency Committee - UPR (Jun 2010 - May 2012) - Researcher / Coordinator / Founder As a direct result of the first student's strike with the help of another student (Luis Feliciano; Accounting) we founded this committee with the purpose of making a in-depth approach to the university's fiscal crisis in order to be able to produce more realistic and data backed proposals to address the misinformation wave that characterized the process. As part of the work of this committee was the following: * Select specific tangible projects such as Green Campus and New Revenue Suggestions to develop full blown proposals with data which led to the projection of implementation costs and timetables. Parts of these developed reports were included on the university's future plans at the Ro Piedras Campus to our knowledge. * Published a Final Report with the findings on different topics such as budget, efficiency of the use of public funds, recommendations of changes at all bureaucracy levels of procedures and policies. * Presentation of Final Report in General Student Assembly, Faculty, University Administration, Community Members and even many legislators and statesmen. * Worked alliances between disgruntled groups to commit on alternative solutions to common problems. * Converted the ad-hoc committee to a permanent committee of the Student's Counsel with annual review of its members and directives with a solid and robust

Transcore: AutoExpreso Project (Dec 2008 - Dec 2010) - Metrics Department Supervisor The AutoExpreso project is the electronic toll system implemented throughout the island of Puerto Rico since 2006. Prior to serve as a Metrics Department Supervisor I occupied several positions in the company which were the following: * Toll Booth Operator * Customer Service Representative (phone and walk-in) * Customer Service Team Leader * Metrics & QA Clerk * Staff Trainer * Violation Processing Department Supervisor As the Metrics Department Supervisor some of my responsibilities included the following: * Comply and ensure implementation of metrics developed and given by the state and federal departments of transportation. * Wrote manual procedures to metric compliance for all company positions. * Awarded as Employee of the Month several times. * Completed policy and procedure proposals to the State Department of Transportation. * Several proposals were partially adopted. * Supervise and lead the work of team with over 50 members on daily operations. ========

Comptroller's Office of Puerto Rico (Oct 2008 - Dec 2008) - General Services Clerk This was a temporary agency job. The job consisted in: * Maintained control of the internal mail and deliveries. * Assisted on distribution and transportation of equipment and auditors throughout the island. * Coordinated training seminars to the statesmen elected on the 2008 General Elections as in compliance of Law 222 with the State Elections Commission. ========

The job consisted in: * Comply and ensure implementation of all company procedures in accordance to the HIPPA Law. * Administrated server information, daily reports, cards, letters and other thing to be printed. * in charge of a 12 hour night shift with high performance printers, servers and machinery. ========

JC Penney (Dec 2005 - Dec 2007) - Sales Associate Prior to serve as a Sales Associate I worked through several positions, which are the following: * Started as a Sales Support Associate assisting in the Receiving Cargo Area. * Later moved to work as attendant of the Shoes Department Warehouse. *Got promotion as Inventory Management Officer. * Starting 2007 asked and got approved a transfer to Sales Associate of the Family Shoes Department. * All evaluations and level of productivity measures where outstanding. As a Sales Associate: * Was top selling associate of the Department for 2007 Shoe Sales. * Finished 3th nationally in sales on all Shoe Departments. * Awarded as All Star Associate. * Assisted as a shoe expert on doctoral student dissertation investigation. ========

University of Puerto Rico (Ago 2004 - Ago 2005) - Academic Senator Represented the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences for 1 year at the Academic Senate. Some of the work I got involved with during this time was the following: * Was involved on many sub committees that each are worked between students, faculty and administrator such as the Student's Affairs Committee, the Academic Review Committee and the Search and Consultant for the Appointment for a new Rector Committee. * This academic year was also partially interrupted by a 1-month student strike at the end of the year. ========

(Jun 2002 - Dec 2006) - Production Assistant * Worked as cameraman, sound guy, lights person, production assistant, editor, writer, and talent for a children TV show called "Tienda Mgica" transmitted on Channel 13, TeleOro. * Performed as clown, magician, plush character, disk jockey, host and entertainment in general. * Visited the whole island performing and assisting children and educational shows. * Employed in a constant fashion equipment such as inflatables, popcorn kettles, cotton candy machines, bendable air balloons, magic illusions, card tricks, toys, live animals, etc. * On the summers of 2004 & 2005 served as the Magic Summer Camp one for children in general, and the other for the sons and daughters of the legislators at El Cuartel de Ballaj and the other one at the children's theme park, Puerto Mgico. ========

Puerto Mgico: Theme Park (Jun 2002 - Dec 2006) - Operations Manager I worked at this company for over 4 years. During this time I perform a big number of positions and jobs. Amongst them this are some of them: * Cleaned bathrooms and floors. * Attended kids inside inflatables. * Acted as server for birthday parties. * Worked as chef and cafeteria attendant making snacks, appetizers and pizzas. * Was magic store attendant and clerk. * Gave private magic classes and shows to kids and adults. * Worked as attendant at the Information Center. * Got a promotion as Floor Supervisor. * Got another promotion to Operations Manager. As Operations Manager I did things like: budget, schedules, pay sheets, timesheets, contracts, inventory, etc.
