The Rooms
At Fosshotel Westfjords there are 40 hotelrooms.
31 standard twin rooms 5 single rooms 3 deluxe rooms (25 sqm) 1 suite with a double bed All rooms are equipped with twin beds and have a bathroom, wi-fi connection, flatscreen tv and phone. All the hotel rooms have either view over the fjord or the mountains. The suite (33 sqm) is located on the second floor and has a view to the south both to the mountains and the ocean. The suite has a king size bed, a sofa and sitting area, desk, coee & tea facilities. Includes a separate single sleeping area.

The Westfjords

It is always the nature that attracts visitors and in the westfjords the nature is untouched and almost uninhabited. The clis and valleys are packed with birds, including puins, the uninhabited fjords oer a moment of silence and tranquillity. The waterfalls are high and the streams pure. The distances are long and the fjords are deep. The Westfjords are a great place to watch the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) during the winter and equally fantastic to experience the midnight sun during the summer. Visiting the Westfjords is surely a dierent experience. It is Iceland, but yet a dierent Iceland altogether.

Day 1 Arrival in Iceland. Overnight in Reykjavk at one of our 2 Fosshtels, or similar. Day 2 Explore the scenic Whale fjord and the saga valley Borgarfjrur. Go further to the Snfelsnes peninsula with its snow-capped volcano, stunning coastline, lava fields and bird colonies. Overnight in a 3 star hotel in Stykkisholmur area. Day 3 Take the Ferry Baldur in morning to travel relaxed to the Westfjrds. Stop at the small beautiful Island Flatey. After you are on shore again drive further to Patreksfjrur. Spent two nights at Fosshtel Westfjrds or similar. Day 4 Enjoy your day on the westernmost peninsula Europes. See the birds nesting on the largest bird cli Europes. Go further to Explore the golden and red sand beaches on this peninsula. Easy to spend a whole day here. Day 5 Get impressed by the stunning fjords while travelling to the North of this nice peninsula. Stop at the most beautiful waterfall, Dynjandifoss. Pass a lot of small communities until you reach the capital of the Westfjords, safjrur. Stay here for one night in a hotel of the same category as Fosshtel. Day 6 Today you will leave the Westfjrds again. You will drive along the picturesque fjords in the North back to the mainland. Keep on driving to the South and stop at the Grbrk Volcano in the Bifrst area before you proceed to the saga valley Borgarfjrur with its waterfalls, hot springs and historic sites. Overnight at Fosshtel Reykholt, or similar. Day 7 Start the day with a visit to Hraunfossar waterfalls and Hsafell before you head back to Reykjavk where you will stay your last night at one of our 2 Fosshtel, or similar.
