Poppy Seed Rolls


1 cup butter 1 cup sugar cup poppy seed 2 teaspoons almond extract

Cream butter, sugar and almond extract together. Spread over a bread dough that has been rolled out into a rectangle. Sprinkle poppy seed over butter mixture. Roll dough to form a roll. Cut into approximately 11 inch slices. Place into a deep dish that has been heavily sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 degrees for 2025 minutes (until lightly brown on top).

Cornmeal Bread

1 cups milk 3 tablespoons butter 4 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoons salt cup cornmeal 3 cups flour 1 teaspoons yeast

Italian Cheese Bread


2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 tablespoon quick-rise yeast 1 cup warm water (120 to 130 degrees) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Topping: to cup prepared Italian salad dressing teaspoon salt teaspoon garlic powder teaspoon dried oregano teaspoon dried thyme dash of pepper 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese cup shredded mozzarella cheese

In a bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Combine water and oil; add to flour mixture. Add additional flour if needed to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 1-2 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes. Punch the dough down; place on a greased 12 inch pizza pan and pat into a 12 inch circle. Brush with salad dressing. Combine the seasonings; sprinkle over top. Sprinkle with cheeses. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Enjoy!! Kelly Semple

Savoury Parmesan Bites


1 package cream cheese (250 grams) 1 cup Parmesan grated cheese, divided 2 cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 1 cup chopped red pepper cup chopped fresh parsley

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix cream cheese and cup of the Parmesan cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Separate crescent rolls into 4 rectangles; press perforations together to seal. Spread 3 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on each rectangle; top with red pepper and parsley. Fold long end of dough up over filling to centre; fold up again to enclose remaining filling. Cut each into 8 equal size squares. Place seam sides down on baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cup of the Parmesan cheese.

Red River Bread


(Bread Machine Recipe)
2 cups water (warm) 4 tablespoons oil 4 tablespoons brown sugar 3 teaspoons salt cup Red River 4 cups flour 2 teaspoons yeast

Yield: two pound loaves

Rat Rolls
2 cups flour 1 tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder teaspoon salt cup cooking oil cup milk Filling: 1 pound lean ground pork 1 cup salsa 2 teaspoon chili powder 2 dashes hot sauce grated cheddar cheese Measure flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into bowl. Stir. Add cooking oil and milk. Stir to form a soft ball. Knead dough 10 times on lightly floured surface. Line a 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan with waxed paper to use as a guide for size. Roll dough to fit size of pan. Pat lightly with hand to make even layer. Filling: Combine all ingredients in bowl. Mix. Crumble raw mixture over dough leaving edges inch all around. Sprinkle cheese over meat mixture. Use waxed paper to help roll up from longest side, removing paper as you roll. Pinch seam closed. Chill for at least 30 minutes. Cut into 1 inch slices. Arrange on greased baking sheets about 1 inch apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned. Yield: 15 slices . Enjoy!! Kelly Semple

Italian Deli Rollers


2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened 3 flour tortillas 6 slices sliced cheese 6 thin slices of ham 6 thin slices of turkey 6 thin slices of salami 30 thin slices of pepperoni 18 banana pepper rings 9 thin slices of tomato 6 lettuce leaves 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Spread butter on one side of tortillas. Layer each with cheese, ham turkey, salami, pepperoni, peppers, tomato and lettuce to within 2 inches of edge. Spread mayonnaise over lettuce. Roll up tightly. Serve immediately or wrap in plastic and chill up to 2 hours.

Sicilian Meat Roll


2 beaten eggs cup tomato juice cup bread crumbs 2 tablespoons snipped parsley teaspoon dried oregano, crushed teaspoon salt teaspoon pepper 1 clove garlic, minced 2 pounds ground moose 4 to 6 ounces thinly sliced boiled ham 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mozzarella cheese In a bowl combine the eggs and tomato juice. Stir in the bread crumbs, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and garlic. Add ground moose; mix well. On waxed paper or foil pat meat to a 10 x 8 inch rectangle. Arrange ham slices atop meat, leaving a small margin around edges. Reserve 1 slice of cheese. Tear up remaining cheese; sprinkle over ham. Starting from short end, carefully roll up meat, using paper to lift; seal edges and ends. Place roll, seam side down, in 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done, about 1 hours. (Center of roll will be pink due to ham.) Cut reserved cheese slice into 4 triangles; overlap atop meat. Return to oven until cheese melts, about 2 minutes.
