Achieving 140 years in business gives us a good reason to celebrate. Boker is one of the last production facilities in operation located in the "City of Blades," Solingen, Germany. A 140-year tradition of continuous knifemaking since 1869 is something we are very proud of. That being said, we feel its time to say thank you to all who have supported us throughout these years. We will celebrate this anniversary with a special edition of 12 collector knives, one model for each month of the year 2009. All anniversary knives are strictly limited runs of 140 pieces each, except for the Camp Knife, which is limited to 1,869 pieces. We have chosen different materials and designs to show an exclusive variety of our model range. Each knife shows a special 140th Anniversary logo, is serialized, and comes with a certificate. Damascus steel blades are handforged in the painstaking tradition perfected over 2,000 years ago. It is a process that reaches perfection in the talented hands of BOKERs master craftsman, whose keen eye and sharp skill give birth to blades of exquisite metallic artistry, each composed of steel hundreds of layers thick, each as unique as a fingerprint. A handsome wooden gift box is included. Our annual Damascus knife for 2007 has received the meaningful award "2007 Best Imported Knife of the Year" at the Blade Show in Atlanta. This award motivated us to refine our successful Zirconia model. For the first time, we are taking on Mosaic Damascus. For this project, we were able to win over famous custom knifemaker, Ed Schempp. In his blacksmith shop in Washington State, he got the idea to forge a Boker Treebrand Mosaic Damascus. After endless and tedious forging processes, Ed forged Damascus steel plates with many small Boker trees, which are perfect for use as a handle inlay. The Treebrand Mosaic Damascus is made of 1084 carbon steel, with a nickel steel from Bhler, which harmonizes perfectly with the titanium handles. for Boker, Norwegian divers have retrieved parts of the special armor of the Tirpitz, from the Fjord. These pieces of living history are being exclusively forged by our Damascus forger to an extraordinary Damascus steel with an exciting background. The pattern "Great Pyramids," with more than 300 layers, adorns the mighty 4" blade, and makes this piece the highlight of any collection. The combination of the Tirpitz steel and carbon tool steels also creates an extremely rugged Damascus steel, which has a hardness of 61 HRC, and can handle any cutting task with ease. The handle, made of high strength AlMgSi1 aluminum (with Silicium, making it a much higher quality than standard AlMg3), is hardcoat anodized

The Eurofighter is a joint venture jetfighter from Germany, Italy, Spain and Great Britain. This multipurpose tactical piece can be used in a variety of missions. We are proud to present the Eurofighter with a Damascus blade made of the original cannon, Mauser BK 27. It has a firing cadence of about 1,800 rounds per minute, and can be loaded with various types of ammunition. The barrel, which weighs 37.5 lbs., is the base for the high performance steel forged by our Damascus craftsman. This exclusive Damascus pattern is called "Great Roses." Revolutionary design and innovative construction are the special features of this completely new knife concept. Design, research and development were carried out by Dr. Christoph Strasser and Dr. Peter Judmaier from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria. The knife features the new mechanism, Plate Lock, which
is a unique and innovative way to quickly open the blade. Austrian knifemaker Armin Sttz, from Steirer Eisen, built the first prototypes and brought this new concept to life. Now the knife is solely produced by Boker in Solingen, Germany. The handle scales are CNC-milled stainless steel, and the ergonomical design provides a comfortable and secure grip that fits perfectly in the hand. The uniquely curved blade is made of N690BO, which is a special alloy containing cobalt, and provides smooth movement on the bronze washers. N690BO blade steel was developed in cooperation between Bhler (the Austrian steel company) and Boker Solingen, and offers top performance in all cutting tasks. Corresponding with the overall
design of the knife, the sliding safety is elegantly integrated into the handle design, is ambidextrous, and was engineered by the Boker R & D team in Solingen, Germany. Four bands/strips of twisted Damascus, consisting of a nickel and manganese tool steel, are forged into a breathtaking blade featuring flawless

symmetry and beauty, which requires a tedious smithing process. Each strip is made of a single Damascus packet, which is first forged by hand and then twisted 15 times. Four of these twisted packets are fire welded and then forged into this historical blade shape. The structure that is achieved with these different layers guarantees not only legendary strength, it also creates a highly unique pattern, which defines "Twisted Damascus." Blades made of twisted Damascus represented the highest class of smithing art in the Middle Ages, and therefore was only available to the people of nobility. This historical and very complex forging process, which can be accomplished by very few Damascus forgers, is now in the hands of Andreas Henrichs, who is performing this great art perfectly and exclusively for Boker. The discreet glimmer of the black, hand selected ebony wood used for the handle builds a perfect unity with the high polished stainless steel handguard and pommel. Swiss daggers were not usually issued as ordinance weapons, but purchased privately by soldiers as secondary weapons. The Boker Swiss daggers characteristic hilt features the same crescent-shaped pommel and crossguard as the original daggers, but now feature rust resistant stainless steel instead of iron. Their curved shape appeared as early as the 13th century and remained unique to Switzerland. This distinctive hilt design can be recognized in many of Hans Holbeins works, which is why the Swiss dagger was sometimes referred to as a "Holbein dagger." A reissue of an extremely rare standard issue knife. In the late 1940's, General Curtis LeMay, the head of the Strategic Air Command (SAC), authorized the creation of a survival kit for the crews of the long range bombers. Requirements were to be an effective tool for survival in the wild, with the ability to perform a number of functions to include field dressing and cleaning fish. A must was that the knife had to be lightweight. The Air Force reviewed the Randall Model 14, but deemed it too heavy. Decision makers who were well aware of the "Tree Brand" product requested input from Boker. The initial production of 300 pieces for evaluation resulted in immediate approval and the Boker fixed blade became the official survival knife of the U.S. Air Force. The extraordinary blade of our new Damascus chef's knife, Superior, is made of a four-band Torsion Damascus and a separately forged Damascus cutting edge, forged exclusively for Boker. This four-sided Damascus band is twisted 15 times in itself, to create a unique pattern of the 300 layers of Torsion Damascus. In our Boker knife manufactory in Solingen, Germany, the blanks are hand made into a complete knife using more than 150 working steps. This technique of Damascus fabrication originated in Europe and was used in the Middle Ages to create high performance sword blades for nobility. The handle is framed by two Damascus bolsters and a Damascus end cap, both manufactured of 300 layers of stainless steel Damascus. The handles are individually hand fitted to the blade, and provide a visual presentation worthy of a piece of art. For the handle, we use African Grenadill wood. The weight of this Grenadill wood provides an excellent balance to the knife. With its high content of oil, it is naturally moisture resistant.

The blades are being manufactured in Seki, Japan, while the shaping of the Makassar wood scales, assembly of the handles, and the final buffing, sharpening and inspection are all being done by Boker in Solingen, Germany. All by hand. The legendary Japanese art of forging Damascus swords lives on in these blades. The VG10 in the center of the blade offers extremely high cutting performance, with a 60 HRC. The stainless steel Damascus layers on both sides of the blade give each its own unique appearance and character. As individual as your fingerprint. The solid stainless steel bolster adds to the sturdiness, durability and balance of the knife. Since the beginning of the Boker manufacturing plant in 1869, high quality straight razors were produced in Solingen, Germany. At that time, Boker was already focused on the usage of nothing less than the best in materials, and it was of the utmost importance to maintain the highest production standards available. With that background, the success came quickly, and this gave Boker straight razors an impeccable international reputation. After World War II, the manufacturing of straight razors gradually came to a halt. Today, an original Boker catalog from 1906 is the oldest document in our archives showing the razor blade product line of that time. More than 100 years later, a new lineup is being manufactured in Solingen, reviving the old tradition. Through 170 individual production steps, the new and exclusive Boker straight razors are created. A guarantor for the highest quality is the successful "finger nail test." Only the edge

In the standard forging process, there is a great risk that different layers of steel are exposed at the very fine edge of the blade, thus creating a "micro saw" on the cutting edge.
