VILLAGE OF ALSIP MINUTES OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES COMMITTEE MEETING December 13, 2010 Mayor Kitching called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Clerk Venhuizen called the roll with the following in attendance: Trustees Shapiro, Godfrey, McGreal, Michaels, Daddona and Quinn. Mayor Kitching and Clerk Venhuizen. MAYORS REPORT: No report. CLERKS REPORT: Clerk Venhuizen presented: a) The IDOT Motor Fuel Tax allotment for November, 2010. b) Letter of appreciation. PUBLIC FORUM: Mayor Kitching requested public input on any item on the agenda; there was none. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee Michaels presented: a) Report that at the next Board meeting, the MDA District Director, Anna Fratto, will make a presentation to the local firefighters for their recent fund raising efforts in the fill the boot campaign on July 30th and August 6th, 2010. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Trustee Shapiro presented: a) Police Department monthly report for November, 2010. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee McGreal requested an update from Superintendent Cullen on NICOR. Superintendent Cullen reported a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow with NICOR representatives to discuss a possible alternative to opening the newly constructed street at 117th & Laramie to repair a minor gas leak, such as directional boring. Superintendent Cullen reported a Village Ordinance and a permit program is needed in order to control utility, cable, etc. companies from working in the Village at will and causing damage to Village property. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee Shapiro presented: a) Building Department monthly report for November, 2010. HEALTH & POLLUTION: Trustee Daddona presented: a) Report that the Health Inspector will be attending the South Suburban Health Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. b) Report the Health Department has received a total of three complaints relating to heat temperatures in their apartments since November. c) Inspections are ongoing. SEWER & WATER: Trustee Godfrey presented: a) Water Department monthly report for November, 2010. b) Request for approval to reimburse Bryan Juricek $450.00 for successful completion of the Water Treatment course at Joliet Junior College.

Board of Trustees Committee meeting December 13, 2010 LICENSE REPORT: Trustee Quinn presented: a) List of licenses dated December 13, 2010. PLANNING/ZONING REPORT: Trustee Michaels reported there are no current cases before the Planning & Zoning Board. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES VILLAGE PROPERTY: Trustee Michaels presented: a) An update on the roof repairs at Heritage II. INSURANCE COMMITTEE: Trustee McGreal presented: a) Motion by Trustee McGreal to approve the renewal of the Workmans Compensation Policy effective December 15, 2010 December 15, 2011, at a cost of $433,211.00, reflecting a 1% increase; seconded by Trustee Shapiro. Roll #1: Voting aye: Trustees Shapiro, Godfrey, MGreal, Michaels, Daddona, and Quinn. Motion carried. b) Request for approval of the Loss Prevention minutes of March 2, 2010, June 1, 2010 and September 7, 2010. ORDINANCE & LEGISLATION: Trustee Godfrey reported all Ordinances are covered under respective committees. LOCAL IMPROVEMENT REPORT: No report. BOAT LAUNCH: No report. PRESENTATIONS, PETITIONS, COMMUNICATIONS: Mayor Kitching read a letter received this past week as follows; Dear Mayor Kitching, it has recently come to my attention that in 1998 while still serving as the Illinois State Representative of the 36th District, my campaign committee received a donation from the Village of Alsip in the amount of $500. I do not recall receiving this particular donation and do regret it was not returned to the Village immediately. I am enclosing a check from the campaign committee in the amount of $500 made payable to the Village of Alsip. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. James D. Brosnahan.
