Sidna al-Khidr's Supplication of Forgiveness

From the un-obligatory litanies (al-Awrad Ghayr Lazima) of the Ahmediya Tijaniya order is the morning and noon recitation of the supplication of forgiveness att ributed to Sidna al-Khidr (peace upon him). Our Master, the Concealed Pole and S eal of Mohammedian sainthood, Sidna Shaykh Abil Abbas Mawlana Ahmed b. Mohammed Tijani (may Allah flow upon us from his wide, deep ocean with the best of arcane secrets and sciences and illuminations and understandings and gnosis and love a nd gratification and greatness) took this supplication from his master, the vene rated Qutb, Sidi Mahmoud al-Kurdi al-Iraqi al-Misri (d. 1193/1780) who had it in daylight from Sidna al-Khidr (peace upon him) himself. The Holy Khalifa Sidi Ab ul Hassan Ali Harazem Berrada al-Fasi (may Allah be pleased with him) reports in "Jawahir al-Maani wa-Bulugh al-Amani fi Fayd Shaykh Sidi Abil Abbas at-Tijani (G ems of Indications and Attainment of Aspirations in the Overflowings of Sidi Abi l Abbas Tijani) that Sidna Shaykh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Should one recite this supplication all his sins areforgiven" (provided it's read under an authorized muqaddam). Sidna Shaykh recited the supplication twice a day.

Allahumma inni astaghfiruka min kulli danbin tubtu ilayka minhu thumma udtu fiih Oh Allah! Forgive the sins I repented but I did recommit

Wa astaghfiruka min kulli ma waadtuka bihi min nafsii thumma lam uufi laka bihii And forgive the promises I assured You but I did not keep

Wa astaghfiruka min kulli amalin aradtu bihi Wajhaka fa-khalatani fiihi ghayruka And forgive each work I practiced for Your Face but was joined by other purposes ,

Wa astaghfiruka min kulli niamatin anamta bi-haa alayya fa-staantu bihaa alaa maasiyat ika And forgive each grace You bestowed upon me but I used it to disobey You

Wa astaghfiruka Ya Alima al-Ghayb wa Shahada min kulli dhanb-in adhnabtuhu fi-diy aai an-nahaari aw sawaadi al-layli, fi-malain, aw khalaain, aw sirran, aw alaniyatan

, Ya Halim And forgive O Knower of the Unseen and the Seen the sins I committed at day or n ight in secret or public, O Most-Clement.
