ABSTRACT Improving access and mobility of people with disabilities is a necessary element of alleviating poverty in developing countries. Now a days Transportation is a major cause of worry for individuals. Reaching the destination in time is the priority hence possession of personal transport system is the need of the day. People with disabilities like loss of hands can not steer the vehicle. We propose a project to over come the above problem.

A person who is driving the car will be equipped with a device which is placed around the neck of the person. A neck based haptic device is used to navigate the car/or robot. With the help of haptic device the robot can be steered in forward, backward, right and left with ease. The project uses two geared motors configured in differential drive. The project uses 89S52 micro controller. Four haptic switches connected around the neck are interfaced with the microcontrollers input. The motors are driven using the solid state H-bridge.
