AWON RUGGED DYNAMOMETERS

A WON Rugged Dynamometers are for measurement of statically acting tensile load.
These are specially designed for proof load test on chain pulley blocks, wire rope hoists,
cranes. Other applications includes rope tension measurement, measuring load on
towers etc. AWON Rugged Dynamometers are light in weight and requires no electrical
power operation thus suitable for day field jobs. These are useful for surveyors as well
as material handling equipment manufacturers.

TYPE OF DYNAMOMETERS : A WON Rugged Dynamometers are of two kinds viz.,

`BOW’ type and `RING’ type. Main difference between these Dynamometers is of size
and accuracy.

“BOW” type Rugged Dynamometers have a Eclipical shape body. Accuracy of these
Dynamometers is +-1% on F.S. “RING” type Dynamometers have ring shape body and
their accuracy is +- 2% on F.S. However both kind of Dynamometers are suitable for
above applications.

CONSTRUCTION : A WON Rugged Dynamometers consists of a Bow type/Ring type

body which is made out of special quality imported alloy steel. A pair of self aligning
loops/hooks are fixed to body of Dynamometer in opposite directions. A mechanical
strain gauge is fixed with Dynamometer’s body which indicates the strain experienced by
Dynamometer, in terms of load.

MODE OF OPERATION Load on Dynamometer is applied through the pair of wire rope
loops/hooks. As soon as load is applied on Dynamometer, a strain is produced in body.
Strain gauge fitted inside Dynamometer observes the same and indicate it in terms of
load. It indicates direct load in kgs/Tons.

EQUIPMENT : Each A WON Rugged Dynamometer is supplied complete with strain

gauge, pair of wire rope loops/self aligning hooks packed in wooden carrying case.
Usually 50mm Dial Dia gauge is supplied with Dynamometer However, 100mm Dial Dia
Strain gauge can be also supplied against additional costs.
