Welcome to your Red Nose Day 2013 Fundraising Guide. We hope you like it, and that it helps you have fun whilst raising loads of life-changing cash. Its full of quick and easy ideas, fresh from our team of celebrity fundraising experts: the Fun Raisers. It also includes some helpful fundraising tips, a few handy posters and a page of essential Red Nose Day goodies. Plus, there are one or two examples of the amazing things your money could do. Good luck, and happy fundraising!
THE IDEAS
1 Hold a talent show at work and sell tickets. 2 Get some musical friends together and throw a big band night. 3 Host a games night with friends paying to play.
1 Hold a dress-down day at work and charge for the privilege. 2 Organise a fabulous fashion show and sell tickets to the big event.
1 Hold a lunchtime buffet at work where everyone brings a dish and pays to sample the feast. 2 Have a bake off, charge for entry and then sell the delicious delights use our Bake Off Kit at rednoseday.com/bake 3 Host a dinner party where everyone pays to come along.
1 Hold a car boot or bring-and-buy sale and raise cash by unloading all your unwanted clutter. 2 Organise a people-auction where people sell their services as a chef, cleaner or gardener.
FUNDRAISERS 2011
The good (and slightly soapy) people from DHL, in Coalville, sold car washes and raised 126. Thats enough to pay for over 300 children, in Uganda, to be tested for malaria so they can get a quick diagnosis and receive life-saving treatment.
1 Get sponsored to take on an epic challenge, like climbing a mountain, or running a marathon. 2 Challenge a rival team to a friendly lunchtime charity match, with spectators and players paying to take part. 3 From sport-a-thons to dance-a-thons and every a-thon in between: hold a sponsored team event at work.
1 Organise a wax-a-thon at work, where people get sponsored to be waxed, and charge spectators to watch. 2 Hold a bush-tucker trial where people pay to dare others to eat horrible food. 3 Dish out dares for dosh: you pay up if they go through with it, or they can pay double to get out of it.
Please be safe! Whilst we really appreciate your support, Comic Relief is not responsible for organising, supervising or hosting your Red Nose Day activity. Whether its a challenge, a dare or simply something entertaining, all activities, and participation in them, are at the organisers and participants own risk. Your activity should not pose a danger to you or any onlooker. 1 Host an eighties anthems karaoke night. 2 Run an eighties film night, with classics like Top Gun and The Breakfast Club, and charge entry.
FUNDRAISERS 2011
Michael, from Jersey, dared to have his legs waxed and raised a mighty 400. Thats enough to protect 80 children, in Africa, from life-threatening diseases by paying for desperately-needed vaccinations.
Sell Noses
Buy some Red Noses at Sainsburys, Oxfam or rednoseday.com/shop (where you can get boxes of them) and sell them at your event.
