Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ! assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

And, we will be celebrating the Lords sacrifice and return in the ritual of the Lords Supper. All are invited to attend.

How to Change II

A Christians desire to grow in faith is beautiful and biblical, best illustrated in Jeremiah 17 where Scripture describes The man who trusts in the LORD as being like a tree planted by water . . . It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit. But how do people really grow? Transformational Discipleship describes the process that brings to life that kind of person described in the Bible. Theres no magic formula or mantra to recite here, but rather a substantive measure of research with churches and individuals who have wholeheartedly answered the call of Jesus to make disciples.

How to Grow Relational Capital

1. START WITH GOD If you have been affected by the love of God to you, that should compel you to show the same love to others. It all starts with your relationship with God (1 John 4:712). 2. BUILD A CULTURE OF ENCOURAGEMENT Be timely, specific, honest, and thoughtful in your encouragement, not only recognizing the task, but the gifts the person has. 3. SHOW APPRECIATION Appreciation expresses value, which is a powerful affirmation for those on your team (Eph. 1:16). 4. AIM TO CORRECT IN PERSON Care doesnt translate well through text. 5. CLEAR THE AIR Sin thrives in darknessdisarm it by bringing it in the light (Eph. 4:3132). 6. DONT JUST TALK BUSINESS People follow leaders, not organizations, so let them see the whole you. 7. BRING HUMOR INTO THE WORKPLACE Dont take yourself too seriously. 8. DONT COMPLAIN DOWNSTREAM If you have conflict with someone, go to them (Matthew 18:1517). 9. ADMIT MISTAKES If you are in culture in which no one admits mistakes, fear will abound. 10. ALLOW FOR PEOPLE TO BE HEARD If there is no safe way to address issues, people feel trapped and become embittered. 11. SPEAK WELL OF EVERYONE Perception is reality. When people hear you speak well of everyone in the organization, (especially the highest leaders) that creates a contagious culture of unity and love. 12. CONTAIN YOUR FRUSTRATIONS We are all sinners, and ministry is hard. We will all inevitably have struggles with other people and the work. 13. BE MINDFUL OF THE SOURCE OF YOUR FRUSTRATION your frustration, dont react and vent to anyone with an ear to hear. This can do far more damage than you realize.
