Diary of a Teenage Superhero Book Report Book Written by Darrell Pitt This report is based upon the book

Diary of a Teenage Superhero, book one of Teenage Superhero Series, written by Darrell Pitt. This book is published by Smashwords and is copyrighted January 2012. Introduction to the Author The book Diary of a Teenage Superhero was written by Darrell Pitt. Darrell is a writer based in Melbourne, Australia. He loves writing about adult fiction. Among of his works are Teenage Superhero Series, Secrets of Successful Writers and Steampunk Detective. Summary I find this book a little bit confusing at first because the main casts identity is undefined but as I read through the chapters I find the story easily understood and well written. People may find this book boring at first but when they read through the chapters, they will realize how fun the story would be. Diary of a Teenage Superhero is a high octane thriller showing what happens when conventional teenagers with everyday problems are given powers beyond this world. The author treats his characters and the story well thought especially if the readers have the same age as the main cast. Because of this, its not difficult to the teenagers to understand the whole story. The first part of the story is all about the boy whose identity is unknown at first. A teenager who wakes up in a normal hotel room. A man lies dying on the floor next to him. And then the person gave him a book. Somebodys pounding the door of the room. He was chased. While he is being chased by his pursuers, he begins to assemble the pieces of his life. His name is Axel. He is the victim of an amazing experiment he has been given incredible powers and he is not alone. An organization known only as The Agency has also modified other teenagers. Brodie is a master of the martial arts. Ebony can transmute one substance into another. Dan controls metals with his mind. Chad creates fire and ice from nothing. And then Axel who manipulates wind. They have been handed incredible powers to help the human race in times of crisis and one of those times is now. A terrorist organization known as Typhoid has acquired Pegasus a highly advanced missile, invisible to radar and conventional defense systems. They intend to fire it at an American city. Only this bunch of untried, untested teenage superheroes stands any chance of stopping the missile before it strikes its target. They have to learn to work together, but as Axel draws closer to his newfound friends, he remembers the words of the dying man in the hotel room. Trust no-one. He knows he cant trust The Agency. I feel the purpose of Darrell Pitt writing this book is that even if at young age, we must stand on our own without depending on others because it is not all the time the people you love is not always at your side.

Body The book is a fiction, adventure type of story. It also contains the stage of a teenagers growing up period. I said it because even if they went through many obstacles, you cannot prevent a person in liking or loving on his/her opposite gender. The first chapters are about a boy named Axel who doesnt know his identity at first. He find a dying person beside his bed where woke and gave him a book with a thick spine. The man said that he have to search for The Agency then the person grab for a card and gave it to Axel then suddenly he hears footprints from outside the room. He swiftly went to the fire exit as quickly as possible. He escaped from the people who is after him. He met a girl named Brodie, who is also one of him. She has also powers just like Axel, then they accompany each other. Axel remembered what the dying person said, Trust no one At that time Axel still dont trust Brodie so he escaped from her. From the time he escape from Brodie, he was hit by a van and from the time when was unconscious, he was dragged by some people to van. When Axel woke up, a person in front him tells him that hes safe. His name is Doctor Ravana. Axel being unknown for his identity, Ravana forced him to tell anything about him and The Agency but Axel dont know anything Ravana is talking about. Ravana dont believe Axel so he used torturing apparatus on Axel. Axel being forced by Ravana did, Axel tells everything about the person told him and about the little thing he knew about The Agency. Then suddenly a noise approaching to their position and then crashed the door where they are located. It was Brodie. With Brodies super fast speed, she swiftly punched Ravana. Axel was shocked for what he saw. Brodie told him to follow her. But now he is starting to trust Brodie. Away from the scenario, Axel ask Brodie if why is she helping her. She told Axel that she is different just like him. Having no idea of what Brodie is talking about, Axel remembered what the dead person gave him. A book and a card. The card contains the place Cygnus Industries. The searched for that place until they reached their destination. Papers, empty cabinets and desk are the only remnants left on the building. They went to the heads office to find something valuable then suddenly they hear footsteps, it is approaching to the office. The quickly hid behind the desk. It was a boy, with a man. Big man. The person punched the boy like hes going to kill it. Enough for watching, Brodie punched the person. They escaped from the big man with the boy, hes name is Dan, also one of them. While driving around the streets, they checked the book for clues about their identity, but the book it empty. Axel and Brodie was disappointed, but Dan examined the book. He noticed that the spine is thick so he opened it. It contains and high-tech flashlight. Having psychic powers, Dan hears some children screaming, crying. He taught that is was coming from the building where Axel was held up. They taught that the children was one of them so they went to the building again. Using their powers they invaded the building to search for the children. They were right in their guess. They also have super powers. The boys name is Chad while the girls name is Ebony. They taught that they were siblings because of their similarities. They escaped from Ravanas goons. While they are having a lunch at the apartment they rented. A man enters the room, a first they were suspicious about the person. But as the person talked about the Agency and their objectives, they listened thoroughly. Hes name it Mr. Jones, he is a member of the Agency, an organization that watches and observes alien activities here on earth. He also told them about their enemy, the Typhoid. Chad ordered an ice cream, but when the ice cream cart was inside the room, it explodes.

Saved from the blast, they went outside to the van and drive their way to the Agencys main base. When they arrived at the base, they were briefed by Twelve, the man in charge of everything on the Agency. He also told t hem about their objectives, to terminate the Typhoid and to destroy the Pegasus, a rocket that is targeted to hit an American city. For how many days they trained inside the base until they are fully trained. They invaded the island where the Typhoid is located. They searched for the Pegasus but the leader of the Typhoid, already pushed the engage button. Using Axels wind power, he flew to where the rocket is headed. He used his power to manipulate the trajectory of the rocket. At this moment, luck is in favor of Axel so the rocket was destroyed. After the mission, they had a little gathering to celebrate the accomplishment of the teenagers mission. Twelve congratulates Axel for what he did earlier. While the others are celebrating, Doctor Anne, one of the doctors on the Agency, asks Axel to follow her. Trusting the Doctor, Axel followed the Doctor until they reached an isolated place under the base, it was a room with a malnourished boy but has a great mind. His name it Ferdy. They didnt noticed that Twelve was following them. He shot Doctor Anne. Axel remembed the moment when he was at the hotel with a dying person, Its like happening again. Doctor Anne told Axel that he has a brother. The buildings crumbling. Axel and Ferdy searched for an exit. They went to an underground river and dive through it until they reached the shore. The person they trusted most on the Agency will be the traitor and the most dangerous enemy of the story. When Axel reached the shore he searched quickly for the others and help him to defeat Twelve, with all the powers combined to him. No one will be more powerful than Twelve than Teenagers combined. They planned on defeating Twelve and they were successful. After the battle, they drive themselves across the country. With Ferdys intelligent mind, he told Brodie about the book and the flashlight inside it. It is sort of a infrared light that reveals the contents of the book. It contains the information about their true identity. Now its their story for finding their true identity. Conclusion I find this book not as useful as others, I think its because of its genre. It was a very good book to read and it gave me more insight to what its like to be an independent teenager and not to depend on others because it is not all the time that the person around you is always there by your side. My impression of the story when I first read it is that it was a little bit dull because of the main cast true identity. Imagine yourself waking up in a morning and then suddenly your identity disappears. But as I read the next chapters of the book, it changed from dull to exciting. The part that caught my attention is when the cast has different abilities because even when I was young, I love watching superhero movies where the stars have different powers and they combine it. I think the author delivered his idea of the story very well and easily understood because of the terms he used. For a teenager like me, I love reading stories like this. I even wish I could buy the whole series!
