ARTS - CRAYON BLOWING (Lesson Plan)

I. OBJECTIVE. - Cognitive: To enhance the students creativity thinking by allowing them to experience different colors, shapes, sizes and angles. - Affective: Teaches the students to appreciate arts, have patience and be independent. - Psychomotor Skills: Develop eye and mouth coordination. II. SUBJECT MATTER Materials to be used: paper, crayons, old newspaper, piece of cloth, small water container. Values: Creativeness, Originality, Resourcefulness, Patience, Independency III. INTEGRATION Arts: allows the student to create their own design through different patterns. Science: allows the student to know more on topics about blowing, parts of the body, Math: Create designs that form different geometric figures. English: Reading comprehension and communication skills. IV. PROCEDURE Step 1: Put a piece of clean paper in place on top of an old news paper to avoid melted crayons to stick on the table. Step 2: Peel off the back crayons and melt the tip a little. Step 3: As the crayon melts, immediately blow the tip of the crayon gently on to the clean paper. The crayon will have a different appearance, more like splatter paint. Step 4: Repeat the process until you get the desired design. Step 5: Let the paper with the melted crayon dry for awhile. Step 6: Clean working area with piece of cloth.

V. EVALUATION / ASSESMENT 1. Display and discuss work. 2. Have each student talk about their project and why they did it. 3. What do they feel in blowing? VI. Arts - HOW TO MAKE A POP-UP CARD (Lesson Plan)

I. OBJECTIVE. - Cognitive: To know basic knowledge in crayon etching. Develop art skills in making other designs through the use of crayon etching. - Affective: How each child reacts in making and after they created their design. To appreciate originality, uniqueness and resourcefulness of each individual. - Psychomotor Skills: Develop eye and hand coordination for color blending and rubbing of colors and etching. II. SUBJECT MATTER Materials to be used: Medium board, piece of paper and crayons or colored paints (optional) and scratch tool (Used ball pen, nails or popsicle stick) Values: Creativeness, Originality, Resourcefulness, Patience, Independency III. INTEGRATION Arts: allows the student to create their own etched design through different patterns and other designs. Social Studies: allows the student to know the history of etching. Originated from the medieval times, Roman times. Science: Rubbing in different angles, blending of colors, drawing of different objects, such as animals. English: Reading comprehension and communication skills. Math: Create designs that form geometric figures and lines. IV. PROCEDURE Step 1: Fold the paper in half, then, fold it again to form a size. Step 2: Open the paper once. Step 3: Draw or paint your design. Paste any picture images (optional). Step 4: Open paper, and fold it lengthwise. Step 5: On the part where you have your drawing or design, draw a parallel line approximately where you want to put your pop-up image. Step 6: Cut along the lines. Step 7: Fold the flop to form to a square. Step 8: Open the paper and push the flop forward.

Step 9: Glue/paste any shape or image on the surface of the flop. Leave it dry for awhile. Step 10: Write the greetings or messages on the card.
